It's been a while since I've been back but it is still as pretty as ever! This is such a great spot for remote work. The music isn't too distracting in any way and there are plenty of tables to sit at during the day. I ordered one of their seasonal offerings and it was really good! It wasn't something I would've ordered for myself but honestly, the person behind the counter did such a great and accurate job of describing it that I went for it. It was the Montenegro which was an iced Americano, lemon oleo and black sesame cold foam. I love a black sesame anything so I was in at that point. The lemon oleo is something I had never experienced in a coffee and it definitely elevated the experience. It did take a minute to get the drink out to me but if I'm being honest, I didn't realize it because I was chatting with a friend. I'd like to try and come visit this place in the evening time. This one is an enigma for me. This in on Colonial just past Alafaya so sort of USF territory. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the space it really nice. I was immediately thinking that this place would not be out of place on Mills ave or downtown. I saw the coffee prices posted and they seemed about average or even maybe a bit of a bargain compared to some of the coffee chain prices. I was given a menu that highlighted some of their rotating seasonal drinks. I was surprised to see drink prices at $15 & $16. I know downtown that would not be unusual, but I assumed since this was pretty far out east it might be a few dollars cheaper. Still, I understand you get what you pay for an they bar seemed to have many top shelf brands and a good selection to boot. The first time I went into Luminescent it was in the evening for their cocktails. My partner and I walked in and were greeted by a lovely atmosphere and great staff. I really appreciated the input about the drinks from the two individuals working behind the bar and I enjoyed both cocktails that I ordered. A few weeks later I decided to go back for their coffee. I met up with a friend and we had a lovely time. Their coffee was also delicious. If you're a fan of pistachio, you'll like Keral's Kulfi. Their food options are definitely limited, but I did enjoy their croissant. A word of warning to those visiting, the exterior of this plaza does not match the interior of this place. I also find that from the outside Luminescent almost looks closed when it is not. The interior design of Luminescent is top-tier - this feels like a trendy coffee shop you'd find in LA, something the East side of Orlando really needed! Stopped in for a drink after an event on the east side of town. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away. Lots of seating inside and it was clean adn contempory in the design. It seemed out of place in the strip mall it was in, but it is a coffee shop during they day and then cocktail in the evening. It allows for people to come in for coffee or a cocktail if they want to work, study, hang out, or eat. Service was attentive as well. We were full from our event so we didn't have any of the food on this visit. I ordered from their summer cocktail menu and I forgot to take a photo of it. It was super light with cucumber and gin. This spot is a vybz. At the point of entry, the lighting will catch your eyes followed by some nice music. Not too fast, not too slow, just a nice mixture of different genres. They genuinely love what they do and it shows. I've only had a few drinks there because I tend to stick to what I love. The lattes are just the right amount of strong and bold. The Affogato is also on par with other coffee houses. However, I'm obsessed with their Keral's Kulfi! It's got pistachio foam cream, espresso, milk, and soan papdi shavings to enhance the drink. Trust me, it's phenomenal! Their pastries are usually good, especially their croissants. I'm sure I'll venture out with other ones in the future. This spot has such a cool concept, and I have been wanting to visit ever since it opened. During the day it's a coffee shop, and at night it transforms into a cocktail bar. We visited on a Tuesday around noon and it was very busy. They have plenty of seating at tables, couches, and around the bar. They also have free Wi-Fi, so it's a great place to work. The interior is very beautiful. I did take off one star due to the confusing ordering process. There were no signs pointing out where to order, so we sat at the bar and assumed someone would come to help us. After 30 minutes of working on our laptops, we finally realized the side of the bar is where you order, and so we went over there. The staff was very nice and once we ordered our drinks were ready quickly, but I wish they had some sort of "order here" sign. We were there for around two hours, and we saw other groups come in and also get confused by how the ordering works. I ordered the Keral's Kulfi latte, which was so delicious. What a cute place! I came here after work, hoping to get a cocktail, but I ordered an affogato instead since their bar doesn't open until 5 pm. The pistachio ice cream was delicious and the perfect amount of everything. The espresso was nice and strong. The mixture was truly incredible. I think I'll dream of the taste for awhile. They have a decent happy hour and the owner's sons are super nice and often assist with working the bar so you can really tell it's a family business. The only thing keeping this place from being perfect is the lack of food! I really hope they get a simplistic small bites menu soon, even charcuterie board options would do. You know... I totally went out of my way to see this place with my own eyes. I read a couple of reviews yes... but mostly I was intrigued by the decor. The ambiance and style in a lounge type setting is very unusual and rare for a coffee type place and also... many coffee places don't have a good place to hang out for a long time or sit...maybe even do some work on the computer....so I was excited about that. Shockingly, and sad for me, they were serving cocktails... straight up cocktails like you would find in a regular bar ! The contrast between people sitting around with their laptops out, head bent over them and having a bar in the background making drinks in a very lively manner and gossiping amongst themselves is a very distinct and strange world indeed (!) ... Huh. It was sad for me because after I discovered that my laptop would NOT connect to the internet there no matter what I did, its an open internet btw... no password.... I would have stayed just to have a cocktail there it was such a cool bar....but since I don't drink anymore... I had to say "Adios!" to this really cool environment and be on my way! I don't know if it was just me or other people were having the same problem..but it seemed that I was the only one having this type of stress over connectivity so I decided to be on my merry way.... I understand they are in their soft opening, but I don't think that they were fully ready for the public. They didn't have any directions as to how to order. I walked in in the afternoon and sat at the bar. I sat there for a good five minutes, and no one acknowledged me at all. I watched the bartender have in-depth conversation about mixing glasses and other things, she never acknowledge me. As I was about to walk out a man who was sitting across from her on a computer who I assume to be either the manager or the owner then addressed me that's when I was instructed that's to order coffee I had to go to the other side of the bar and order it at the stand. I came based off of the TikTok and Instagram reels and stories so I asked for a Matcha the girl taking my order said she doesn't have Matcha the owner or at least a gentleman that I spoke about earlier informed me that they do have it it's just not on the menu. We had two of the best Matcha concoctions we've ever had. While sitting there, we saw a couple come in and make the same mistake. We did we watched for a few minutes and noticed that no one told them anything and they were just sitting there looking confused just like we were I walked over and told them how they had to order and they thanked me When it was time to leave, we didn't finish our drinks that I needed to go glasses. I went back up to the bar and stood there while four people behind the bar, just looked at me and had their own conversations again the gentleman who was on the computer on the patron side of the bar who I assume is the manager or owner had to address me and he provided the cups. We came by here because we were excited to finally have a nice cocktail bar opening up near us. When we first walked in we were both shocked at how incredibly loud the music was blasting for a small cocktail bar/coffee shop and the lighting was heavy on the blue like a club. The main thing that shocked us was that it was only 9:30pm. We considered leaving because it was difficult to carry on a conversation with the DJ's music blasting, but ultimately we decided to stay to try the drinks. The first round of drinks we got were both fantastic. My wife got The Phûl and I got Nimbu Pani. By the time we'd ordered and finished our first round of drinks the DJ packed up, and the music came down to a much more reasonable volume, so we decided to stay for a second round of drinks. For the second round I got the Jignasty and my wife got the Ruby Rose. The Jignasty was pretty good, but neither of us liked the Ruby Rose (not that it was bad per se; just not our kind of drink). The bartender was kind enough to make my wife a Bee's Knees instead, which she absolutely loved-- the cardamom was a nice addition to the classic formula! Additional considerations: -Cocktail prices were very reasonable these days at $15/drink. -Plenty of parking around the building. -No in-house food, but there was a Colombian pop up tent out front serving food (don't know if that's the norm or if we were just lucky with that). -During the day they function as a coffee shop, but during the evening they function as a cocktail bar.
