This is my first time hiring a cleaning company and I had an awful experience with this one , I needed my 2b 2b apartment move out cleaned so I reached out to hire them ... first we agreed for Saturday morning then the manager called me to move it to Saturday at 3:00 , then reschedule again for Sunday morning, I was in desperate need so I agreed, we were supposed to meet at 9 and she showed up at 9:30 saying she had the wrong address, then she started working at 9:45 , she then calls me almost 2 hrs later and lets me know she's only done with the kitchen and If i want her to continue ?? , 2 hrs for an apartment kitchen ?? That's ridiculous , that's exactly where they get you 30$ an hr but they only send 1 person and take the longest they can ... I called the manager and explained my concern she was very unprofessional And said "Oh well it's hard to find people to work on Sundays and she just had a baby 4 months ago" First of all she was the one that rescheduled for Sunday , and I don't care if she just has a baby we all have a life why have her work if she's gonna be extra slow!!! I ended up paying over 140 for 4.5 hrs and all she did was the kitchen and two restrooms. If you want to throw away your money and be lied to plus get poor excuses from the manager then this is the "professional cleaning company to pick"! read more

I've used this company a couple of times over the past year, and they did a move out cleaning a few years back for me. I've had a great experience with them each time. They show up on time and put a lot of detail in everything they clean. During their most recent visit last week, I was super impressed with how clean my floors are! I have three dogs and a cat so I can never keep them clean. But the employees did such a good job that I actually emailed the owner to find out what products they use, because apparently I am using the wrong stuff. I was excited to have my home cleaned and exchanged a number of emails with Mrs. McKenna. The replies to my emails were FAST, which made me feel valued. The cleaning ladies arrived on time, which is why I give them an "A" for punctuality. The cleaning was ok, my island was sticky (which was corrected once I pointed this out). I also noticed the bathroom floor was still dirty, which was not corrected when I pointed this out, neither was the dirty shower floor. The entrance to my home had dirt and little pebbles left from the girl's vacuum, which I vacuumed when they left. I emailed Mrs. McKenna with this information and it seemed as though I offended her because not only did she imply that it was my fault my home wasn't cleaned correctly (stating that if I had pointed out what was missed that it would have been corrected), but also that if I had wanted the ladies to do a better job that it would have cost more considering I was being charged by the hour. The ladies were in my home for 3 hours which I was being charged $180 for, I gave them $200 because I only had two hundred dollar bills. I was told they didn't have change and that I could use this as credit for next time. As you can imagine after the email I sent to Mrs. Mckenna talking about the areas that were missed in my home (I actually even asked for a quote to get my home done again because not only do I have credit, but I like to give second chances) Mrs. McKenna has failed to reply to my emails. I feel as though Mrs. McKenna is quite sensitive when it comes to negative reviews, but people are only being honest. This is a copy of the review I put on Angie's List yesterday and the response the owner- Michelle wrote. As you will see by my review and the previous customer's review, we both experienced very simular behavior. Good luck if you choose to do business with this company because clearly she tried to turn the review around to make it appear I was a disgrunted customer. I'm going to try and post the evidence i have so you can have a clearer understanding of what happened. Description Of Work: They performed a partial Move Out cleaning for the vacant home we are selling Member Comments: My review could have been positive had I not been misinformed by the owner Michelle. When I originally called the day before and explained we were wanting service the following day, she was very nice and indicated she could accommidate our request. I explained to her the home was vacant and we had cleaned it but wanted a service to come in a spruce up (window sills, dusting ceiling fans, wipe down drawers and cabinet etc) She suggested we print off the Move Out sheet from her website and highlight what service we wanted. She also suggested that because we needed someone quickly, the recommended sending 2 people to get the job done quickly. She told me the cost would be a flat $30 an hour but NEVER MENTIONED PER PERSON!!! She indicated I would recieve an email confirmation the same day which I never did. I sent her a text at 7:36 PM letting her know I had not received the confirmation and I also confirmed the details she had given me earlier in the day about the cost per hour. We comminucated back a forth until approximately 7:44PM. She never questioned my text but confirmed my appt was at noon and she couldn't resend the confirmation because it was system generated. (I saved the text messages) The next morning, I received the email confirmation but it didn't list an prices but confirmed the arrival time. My husband mentioned they arrived slightly after noon but that was no biggie. The work they did was fairly good however they were using our broom towards the end. They fnished the home in 3 hours flat so I was under the impression the bill would be $90 plus a tip. My husband sent me a text and indicated the cost was approximately $179 after taxes and he had paid the bill and they were gone. When I called her later in the afternoon, she immediately became defensive when I questioned the information she had given me. When I explained to her that she told me the cost would be a flat $30 an hour, she did not tell me that was PER PERSON. I explained to her several times what she had quoted me and I had never used a cleaning service before so I was not aware of how the pricing worked. I also told her that i had the text messages to prove it. She said I was texting her at 9:00 PM and she was already in bed. I reminded her of the time of our conversation and she brushed me off. I asked if there was anything she could do since she had given me misinformation and she said she could reduce the charge by a 1/2 hour because had I used one person, the job would have taken approximately 5 1/2 hours. She also told me to look at her website and it says $30 an hr. I took a picture of her website which does say $30 an hour but it never mentions PER PERSON. She never apologized for her error or showed any type of empathy for the situation. When I read a review on Yelp the next morning from 2012, someone mentioned she was defensive also and it only confirmed why I was treated this way. Instead of accepting her mistake and correcting the problem, I guess she would rather have the negative reviews. Company Response: I expected this review. What she failed to mention is she inquired about the 7 hour Move Out Coupon for $229.00. The coupons do specify if 2 people are sent then it is half the time. After discussing her home, I suggested she pay the $30hr plus tax to save her money. I told her if it only took 5-6 hours she could save some money. I always inform my customers our rates are per person. By going with the hourly rate she paid $179 instead of $247 including tax. A savings of almost $70.00. She complained she could have paid less with one of the other companies she spoke to. I explained to her I could have sent one girl for 5.5 hours and it would have been the same amount of money. She asked me "What are you going to do before I do something"? I figured she was trying to hold a bad review over my head which didn't sit too well. I told her I could give her 1/2 hour for free - that I still had to pay my girls and I was sorry she didn't understand our rate. I wasn't defensive, I stood my ground. She mentioned her text that was sent at almost 9pm the night before with the $30 rate. I didn't think anything of the rate she quoted to me. Since that is what I quoted her. I have been using this service for almost two years now. This is the fourth service that I have used since moving to San Antonio 7 years ago. I much prefer working directly with the owner of the company, Michelle, who's hands on with this business. I like that she sends out regular people to clean my home. If their kids get sick or something happens where they can't make it, she always works hard to make it right. She has jumped through hoops to get someone else out here that day or can get someone here a few days later. This is why I prefer doing business with an individual rather than a larger company being run by several different people who really don't care if your home gets cleaned or not. As far as the cleaning goes, everyone so far has done a pretty good job. Another thing that's been beneficial is that the people who work for her always ask me to look over my home before they leave. This way nothing gets overlooked. I also ask them to work within my specific time frame so that I never pay more than I've budgeted. I've called most the cleaning businesses on Angie's List and she had the best rate of $30 per hour per person. But I will have to admit that my favorite part of the Earth Wise House Cleaning service is that she uses environmentally safe cleaning products. We were told that it costs $30 per hour to do a move out cleaning. We decided that we use their service for 5 hours. Half of that time for moving out and the other half for moving in (because apartments were in the same complex). The employees showed up and they cleaned for 3 hours. During the 3 hours, they were asked to focus only on a few things since the other stuff such as oven and the cabinets were cleaned previously. They did not honor our wishes and they kept going the way they wanted to. They stopped after 3 hours and asked if we needed them to stay more. TThey mentioned that the rate we talked about was for 1 person only. However, the owner (who we spoke on the phone with) never mentioned that when we booked them for the service. Also, they did not clean the patio. Later when we called the owner she said that "your apartment was nasty" and also that "porch is not part of our duties" even though on their website it says that front porch is included. I don't see how it's different than the small patio that we have? In conclusion, this business is not honest and upfront about the charges. Also, they took 3 hours for a small 2bedroom two bath even though the cabinets, oven, and one toilet was cleaned by myself before I booked them. read more

so disappointment with the service I've receive the last 2 times. my usual cleaning lady left the company so i tried new people both times. michelle is not very responsive via email or text so I am left wondering if I have an appointment for cleaning. one lady used I don't know what on my stainless refrig that emphasized streaks on the refrig. i had to clean it twice to get most of the streaks out. I took a picture and sent it to michelle but all she said was I will talk to the cleaning lady. I, against my better judgement, gave michelle the benefit of the doubt when she told me she has other great cleaning people. ok. one last try. I again wasn't impressed with the cleaning. the master bath shower didn't looked like it had been touched. luckily I found another cleaning company from my neighbor. read more

I have used this company for years. They helped me clean my apartment when I moved to a new home, and helped me clean the new house after the move. I found myself spending my weekends cleaning the many tasks left undone during the work week, and I was tired of it. I told Michelle that I had two boys occupying one bathroom, and also had acquired a new puppy. I'll be the first to admit we are a somewhat messy household, so it was no easy task. Her staff was thorough and completed everything I had requested, including cleaning the buildup on the shower doors, the boys bathtub rings, and making my kitchen floor look new. Coming home to a clean house that smelled wonderful, and knowing that only all natural products were used was such a blessing. I used this company about three years ago for about a year, had five different cleaners during that year because they all quit. I did not like the way the last person that was assigned to me cleaned. I specifically asked she clean the hard water deposits off the glass shower door, all of the previous cleaners would do that. She claimed that she didn't have the appropriate cleaner with me but always assured me that she would bring it next time. This happened three times and the hard water deposits were getting increasingly bad. So she and I got into an argument about it and I decided that I was just going to request a new cleaner. Michelle told me that she was on a new person to my house. But lo and behold the next week here came that same person. I didn't answer the door and I called Michelle. She tried to convince me that she'd spoken with this cleaner and that everything would work out fine. But that wasn't the point the point is is that I had requested someone else and Michelle had assured me that I would get someone else. She said someone new would be out the next day. No one showed up. That's when I cancelled my business with her and went on Angie's List and wrote a review. Michelle does what she always does when there's a negative review, she defends her company and attacks the customer. Maybe if she spent more time being a professional and keeping her word she's have fewer negative reviews to contend with. read more

I have used Earthwise for about a year to clean my 3400 square foot office building once a week. We are a construction company so it does get pretty dirty from the field guys.
