Doctors and staff are great to work with. Appointments are flexible and it isn't difficult to get one same or next day. Appointments are also pretty quick as well, so you don't spend hours in the office. Message Therapists here are also very good. read more

I've been in the health care industry for a while and never seen such bad service. It so bad, that I'm still debating whether to refer to State Medical Review Board. I injured my back and like most people, waited a couple of days before going in. So by the time I get to the office, it really killing me now. I was able to do the inpatient paperwork from home, via their online portal. Which is a plus given the pain I'm in and need to see Doctor asap. When I arrive, I'm pretty much told to wait about 10min then I see Dr Zrelak. Goes over the medical questionnaire and give me the standard "what we're about speech". The physical exam and x-ray are done by Dr Hoffman. Up to this point, so far I'm pretty happy. I'm then taken to a room to get the stimulates therapy to my lower back for about 15 min. Now here's where things go REALLY BAD! I'm told to schedule my appointment and they'll go over what's wrong and treatment. I thought this was a joke, even a plumber will tell you what's wrong with the pipe while s/he's there. I ask when the next appointment is, they say the next day. I'm in pain, they have this super digital x-ray equipment, its 3pm in the afternoon, and they're telling me to come back tomorrow. I've never seen any doctor tell a patient come back tomorrow and I'll tell you what's wrong when they have the test results right there. I felt like the only reason they wanted me to come back the next day was to bill me more. The cost up to this point was ~$260; in short, I didn't like their standard of care. I called a few different Chiropractor friends who were shocked and apologized for this office. They said this should never be the case, the drawbacks of being new to a city. read more

I was really happy to find a chiropractic office so close to work, and so highly praised by fellow yelpers. But unfortunately, I can't bring myself to sing their praises. Having gone to chiropracters around the country (moved a lot), I think I have a fairly good idea of what a good chiropracter is, and East Bank is good. But they aren't great. They have fantastic technology, but sometimes it feels like they rely on it too much. Additionally, having a large staff is great but treatment might be better if the same doctor that examined you also adjusted you. When I went in for my first appointment, one doctor examined me and understood how much pain I was in. I started feeling comfortable with this doctor, and like he really understood what I was feeling. But then I was passed off to a completely different doctor for adjustment. He turned the table on to "stretch" me and then left for a couple of minutes. Every single time the bottom portion of the table moved upwards it pinched the part of my neck that was already causing me enough pain. Perhaps if I had just one doctor during the appointment who knew how much my neck alread hurt and the movements that made it hurt, the added pain could have been avoided. I also feel as though they want to get you in and out as soon as possible. Now maybe this is a product of busy people coming in with little time, but when I come for treatment I really want to feel as though I'm not just another number (or a dollar sign). Without a doubt, they have the quickest adjustments I have ever experienced, and not in a good way. Slow down! Ultimately I always left feeling unsatisfied. The first two times I went, I did actually feel better. But the third time I went only made my injury worse. I went in with almost full range movement of my neck and left with it hindered again. Would I go back here? Yea, if I were in a bind I might. But I'd rather find somewhere that takes the time to listen to and adjust their patient without rushing them out the door. read more

Getting older sucks. But it doesn't have to suck as bad, when you have a most excellent chiropractor keeping the aches and pains at a minimum. Insert East Bank Chiro and Dr. Curry. While I think all of their doctors are equally good at what they do, I've been seeing Dr. Curry for a little more than a month, and I've been thoroughly impressed with his dedication to not only help me fix what's wrong (aka, massive lower back pain), but teaching me how to unlearn bad habits (slouching and leg crossing = bad news bears, apparently) while learning how to remain pain-free and healthy into the future. All of the staff here are super friendly, professional, and incredibly flexible with scheduling appointments. Only a month in, and I've already noticed reduced pain - I can't help but be a fan of that and the people who have helped me get there. read more

I have never been to a chiropractor but after 26 years, I decided whyyyy not. I have *awesome* health insurance that even covers chiropractic treatments. So that might have triggered me to make an appointment. Anywhoots- I first walked into what seemed to be a small office but it's a decent size once you get past the reception area. Then, you wait again in a different waiting area, closer to all the doctors office. This is where you blankly stare at all the Chicago athletes and actors that Dr. Zrelak have as patients. I really didnt know who i was going to see but..lucky me.. I met with Dr. Zrelak first. He took down all my info, pain areas, complaints and gave me wonderful pointers about which vitamins to take. Then I had to take X-rays and all that good stuff and met Dr. Curry. He was just as nice and very helpful. I never felt rushed meeting with both of the doctors. The office staff is accommodating and so sweet! I forgot one of the medical assistant's name but she was so nice and made me feel so comfortable. The location is convenient if you live in the downtown area. It's walking distance from my home so that's why I wanted to check it out. There's street parking and a parking lot for those who drive. This chiropractic practice is excellent! The staff and doctors in the office are all very friendly, helpful, and professional. It was extremely easy for me to make an appointment there. Additionally, they verify your insurance benefits before you receive treatment and you are well aware of what you will owe out of pocket. They offer discounts for one time payments and they also have payment plans available. I have only been here twice, but I haven't had any complaints so far! I'm well on my way to having a healthy spine again! One last note: if you are skeptical about chiropractors, you shouldn't worry about these doctors. I was referred to Doctor Z by a colleague after throwing out my back from a workout and having severe pain. I got in within hours. The receptionist was extremely personable and warm and sincerely cared about my services. She showed me pricing, educated me that many health insurance companies (BCBS) include this in coverage, and came over to me to discuss since I was in pain. Everyone insisted I do not carry my bags around out of care. I received several long and short term services that made me feel physically and mentally relieved. I now have a plan to prevent this from happening. Dr Z even followed up past 8 pm his time to see how I was doing and if I had questions. It's rare you get that personalized service in the city. I found out about East Bank Chiropractic at a health fair. I'd never been to a chiro before, so I was a little unsure about the whole process and what they do. Can they really help? Short answer: yes. I've got a curve in my lower spine, which causes some discomfort since I sit all day at the office. I also get pretty bad headaches (borderline migraines). Dr. Curry took ALL of this into account, and developed a treatment plan that would alleviate the pressure on my lower back (and ultimately reduce the frequency of my headaches - yay!) and help bring my spine closer into alignment (as best as it can, given the massive curve). Everyone you encounter at EBC is great and very friendly. They do their part to educate you on the many benefits of chiropractic medicine, and how it's all connected to your overall health. I've also had the other chiropractors do my adjustments, and they've all done a fab job. They're willing to work out a payment plan with you, which is great, especially if you didn't factor that into your flex spending budget for the year. read more

I injured my back while moving in the fall and a friend of mine recommended I see Dr. Hallums at East Bank Chiropractic. I couldn't be any happier; he's done wonders for my back. My lower back was in massive pain on my first visit and at this point, all pain has ceased from the treatment I've received. I'm one of those individuals that doesn't take medication to cover up pain. I'd rather deal with the pain and get treated by a professional to correct the problem. In my opinion, when it comes to the back, your only "real" treatment options are a chiropractor or surgery (depending on the injury). Yes, anti-inflammatory agents can help but only temporary. You'll also have to deal with medication side effects which can take a toll on your liver over a period of time. So I can safely say that my recovery is 100% owed to Dr. Hallums. The office staff is very friendly and organized and they do their best to try and accommodate your schedule. In addition, they do all research pertaining to your insurance coverage and explain details. I've had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Zrelak and Dr. Curry as well and have no complaints. I headed back and have been improving my health since then. I have a hard time fitting time in, but they have hours during lunch and after work, so I can make it in. when I have a tight schedule they work with me so I can get treated and get back to work or go home. Dr. Z and his stuff are amazing. I used to go there all the time. He really cared about my health and always responded all my concerns. He even called me personally to check how I was going with my back pain when I was pregnant. Never charged me for my last time cancellations and very flexible to reschedule them. He would even recommend products at other places if he doesn't have them or can't be very helpful with your specific problem. I love one machine that he has I don't remember the name( it is like a scan) but if you have a temporary muscular pain this machine will disappear all the pain in 2 days! I've been going to East Bank Chiropractic for almost one year and finally overcame my laziness for a good reason: to let everybody know how satisfy I am with my experience, from several points of view. I didn't start visiting the office because I was in pain, but just to be proactive in taking care of my health. However, along this past year I had a couple of issues with my ribs due to improper weight lifting and at that point I was very much in need of help! Had never been to a chriopracter before but am super active and workout a ton. my back was starting to bother me, and i was referred to east bank for adjustments. not only was my experience with the doctor terrible and unprofessional, their billing team charged my credit card on auto-debit without my permission and for services that were not performed. After calling the front desk, they tried to convince me the email was sent in error and my credit card was not charged, which was not the case. it was on a monthly auto-debit for services i did not receive. i was essentially being charged for nothing. worst experience ever, both with the doctor and with the staff. would NEVER recommend. if i could give negative stars on this thing, i would. read more

I was going to a physical therapist for a few injuries. My PT person kept saying that things were out of alignment and were teaching me how to manipulate things myself. Well needless to say that really wasn't working. So I decided to see a chiropractor. I was refered to the practice by a friend who had used them after suffering from post marathon injuries. First, they have great staff and friendly doctors. I've been treated by all three and while they are different I have no complaints and feel like I am always well taken care of. Second, Dr Curry diagnosed my scoliosis and then worked out a great treatment plan for me. I had been to two chiropractors before him who suggested I had scoliosis but did nothing about it and didn't discuss with me a plan of action. I have always had back pain due to a rib that moves funny and Dr. Curry has taken care of it! The doctors also have made some fantastic recommendations for dietary changes and nutritional supplements that have completely changed my health. Before, 2008 I've never been to a chiropractor before, but when the docs from East Bank visited my job for a health fair, I thought I would give it a try since I did experience some neck and back pains. Long story short, I've been visiting Dr. Hallums at this office for over a year now, and I have to say that my neck and back pains have significantly decreased. Also, the staff is great and they remember everyone by name. I feel just as comfortable going here as I do going to my hair salon. Not only do they help me with my neck and back pains, but they've also helped me with other health concerns as well. For example, I pulled my achilles tendon working out one day, and it took forever to heal. However along with the advisement of my podiatrist, they helped my achilles tendon get better with physical therapy sessions. I highly recommend their services. read more

Let's cut to the chase. Dr. Curry is a miracle man. And a really great guy too. Four years ago I pinched a nerve in my back/neck. After epidurals, an osteopath and physical therapy, I went to East Bank Chiro desperate for relief. Within a week I was in relief and essentially "cured" after about 3 months. I continued with regular adjustments for another 9 months but for some reason stopped going. Never-the-less, these guys put me right and I carried on for another 2+ years pain free. About a month ago I started having hip pains and literally 10 days ago I had very limited mobility in my hip. The pain was level 8-9. My first port of call was East Bank Chiro and Dr. Curry. I got almost instant relief, but the xray found that one hip was half an inch lower than the other, the source of my pain. At 48, my body needs some attention and TLC and the treatment is working. n two days I am going skiing with my 16 year old son and I am ready to go - something I didn't think would be possible 10 days ago. I realize this is just a necessary part of my life now and I will make sure I receive regular adjustments from now on. The staff are great. The office is nice and comfortable. And I always get in and out in half an hour or less. These guys have all the xray and muscle measurement tools in house and they are professional and welcoming. Highly recommend. A+++++ read more

Dr. Zrelak and Dr Curry are the best, I wish I could give 10 stars. I felt I needed to write this review to get their name out there and help others in the same situation. They are excellent and will help you. My husband had an injury of herniated discs to his back. On a scale of 1-10 pain, he was a 10. He couldn't walk, eat, sleep etc. Every MD; spine specialist, surgeon, Pain specialist we went to for 7 grueling months couldn't find the solution or fix his pain, nor did they care. Dr Zrelak and Dr Curry gave us hope, they understood what we were going through and really care to find the long term solution. And they did. Dr. Zrelak and his team has helped me so much in the last two months. I came in with severe vertigo and back after a bad fall, and was struggling to get through the day with the dizziness. He immediately assessed my problem and started targeted therapy on me and within three weeks of treatment my vertigo was gone!!! I've always had constant random headaches at work and always blamed that I'm sleep deprived, but after few months of treatments I couldn't even remember the last time I had a headache. I strongly recommend East Bank Chiropractic for anyone who has to deal with back pain like I had to recently. I started playing golf this past summer after having not played for 10 years. I probably went a bit overboard with around 25 lessons and 25 rounds. Needless to say, I started having some severe pain in my lower back. There were mornings I couldn't even get out of bed and for someone who works out 4 times a week, it was tough to deal with. That's when I decided to go to see Dr. Zrelak, who I was referred to from a friend. After looking at x-rays Dr. Zrelak pointed out that I've likely had a degenerative disk in my lower back for many years. He then educated me on how Chiropractic treatments would help not just align my back, but get me healthy enough to workout consistently again and to play golf again. I'm really glad i listened because that's exactly whats happened. It didn't happen overnight but I'm over 3 months in and feel better than I've felt in a long time. I plan to play golf this Sunday...yes it's December! I should also mention how helpful his staff is.
