This place is a joke. They had me tow my car out on a trailer for them to look at. Once i got there, they told me my frame was bent enough to where it would be cheaper if i bought a front end of a different frame and they would weld it at factory welds, and then it would take less hours n money to fix. So i had to drive 7 hours to go find a frame that was suitable to replace the front end. Once i got back i brought it in, they told me the rack was full, to call back in a few weeks to see. This went on for over 3 months. Then they finally told me they wouldn't do it because insurance jobs pay more. San leandro is about an hour from me as well, so trailering back and forth was not just a little trip. I would not even try. They give you the run around and have terrible service and work ethic. read more

I was referred to this shop for some suspension work and gave them a call to make an appointment. They told me to bring my car by first thing in the morning. There were several vehicles already being worked on by the time I got to the shop at 8:00am, but they had an estimate for me by 9:00am. They outlined what the issues were, what repairs needed to be made, provided a reasonable price, and even though they had to special order some parts for my car, everything was done by 1:00pm. These guys are a joke. My mechanic referred me to them, so I went there. They were supposed to weld the frame on my box van, they called me up said the vehicle was done and charged me $500. Sometime later I went back to my mechanic to get an oil change they inspected the world and said they didn't even do a complete job and now the crack is back. When I went through all of the run around with the dealership who sold me a bad warranty, this company was there to help me every step of the way. They answered every question I had. They truly represented me in exemplary customer service. Not only are they great with customer service but they do great work too. Being a repair shop their work should be at the fore front. It is and I'm driving around today to prove it. I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative for all the hard work they put into dealing with my warranty issue. If it wasn't for them I would have been lost. Their workshop is also exceptionally clean. Cleanliness is the first thing I look for in a repair shop and this would be the example I would base any car repair experience on. My 5th Wheel RV Trailer's springs were compromised. The factory sent replacement springs but I was to pay for labor. San Leandro RV & Trailer recommended East Bay Frame & Axle. Mico and Alan were great. Not only did they replace the springs, they also repacked the bearings and performed a laser alignment from the king pin to assure my trailer will correctly track down the road. Clean shop, friendly customer service and they know what they're doing. Had the front lower control arm pin break on my 99 Dodge Dakota and had a different mobile mechanic come tell me it needed everything from the shocks replaced to the frame welded where the control arm is attached (which I could tell was bs). Spoke to literally 6 different shops in Hayward and San Leandro and nobody wanted to touch it because "it may need to be welded" even though I provided photos. Had it towed to East Bay Frame and Axle and they had it fixed in a couple of days, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, and the price was far below what I expected. Truck now drives better than it has in years. Don't waste your time, just take it here and get it fixed right the first time. read more

Went in with what I thought would easily be couple hundred dollars worth of a repair to some air bag shocks. JR stood by the work this shop did YEARS ago, fixed my spare AND added some fluid to the rear end at no charge. He said they stand behind their craftsmanship, something hard to find these days. I took my 34" motorhome here for an alignment after getting new tires. I scheduled an appointment about a week ahead of time. I had picked their brain for a recommended shock brand while making the appointment, and I am happy with their choice over the one I was looking into. The rig rides great. I got there in the morning, they aligned it and installed the shocks I supplied. The employees were really personable and I just hung out in their break room while they did the work, which was pretty fast, and their price was very fair. If I need this kind of work on my truck, car or motorhome in the future, they will be doing it! read more

Very friendly guys. The shop is quite large and has the feel of an older shop...... neat and clean but no pretenses. Just the kind of place I like to go to. I went in for an estimate of front end work on a Mercedes. Another mechanic told me I needed to replace the steering damper, control arms and get an alignment : $2300. He also said I needed rear axle boots $1800. The guys at East Bay frame, put the car on the rack and proceeded to give it a very professional evaluation; pushing here and there on the wheels to see what may be loose/worn. Their conclusion: front end is fine. no repairs needed. They also said the rear boots could have small cracks and still not need to be changed. The labor for this is too expensive and when the boots and underlying bearings go, East Bay simply replaces the axle (cheaper). Apparently they work on trucks, rv's and other large vehicles, but also work on cars. They are definitely on my list for any further work. read more

I'm very pleased with East Bay Frame & Axle' service. I looked for a shop that could adjust the camber on my old '73 F250 and they have the know how and tools to dial in the I-beams. Not just that, but give you professional guidance too. If you need a specialty shop to do an alignment that isn't you're basic run of the mill tire shop alignment, this is the place in the bay area to take your vehicle to. Worth the drive. read more

As much as I wanted to leave 5 stars I can't. I took my car here spent $2,500 and when it was picked up it could not go into 4th or 5th gear. I took it straight to a transmission shop to fix it and they wanted to charge me $200 and said the tranny needed to be rebuilt. So I paid $1,400 to have it done and very sadly the problem was not fixed. Spending this much money you would think it would drive good... well after working on it with my Dad I think this shop damaged the steering column removing the sub frame. I will have to try and replace that next but $500 is a lot of money.... :( FYI we have tried adjusting everything I'm quite devastated. I just don't understand how you take your car to fix something and come out with another problem. It feels impossible to fix. read more

The other review says good customer service I strongly disagree. The first attempt to go there happened to be during my lunch hour. I was told to come back later. I understand everyone needs lunch but if your shop is open for lunch you should be available, if not close for lunch. When I did get work done there they made it seem I was lucky to PAY them to work on my vehicle. I was told "they were always busy." I did get an alignment done there. After the alignment I realized the tires desperately needed to be replaced. So I did so. Then I needed an adjustment. I carried it back. I got nothing but flack. They said "why did you not get your tires prior to the alignment?" They checked it out prior to them aligning it did not mention how badly the tires where worn. One employee was cursing about now they have to do another alignment, on and on. I decided then this was not a shop I wanted to work on my vehicle or pay to give me grief. I left and went to another shop to have the adjustment done. read more
