I was told the O2 sensor needed to be replaced. I checked the price for the senors which cost about $600+. Plus labor, I am looking at ~$800 or more for the repair. I contacted Terry Madsen at High Street Automotive through Yelp. Terry asked me to send the failed test report to him, and convinced me the sensor most likely are good. I just needed a proper drive to reset the sensors. I listened to him and drove the car follow the suggested driving pattern for ~40 miles. It passed! I most appreciated is the he offered his expert opinion without charge. Terry was not only just asked questions online. He went to extra miles ask me to send test report through email he gave to me during online exchange. It is rare nowadays.

I got my vehicle in and out without any trouble. Their prices seem fair. Jesse was the one that I spoke to and at the end of the service, he told me that they had checked my break fluid for me (without me needing to ask) and recommended that I come back in a year to get it flushed out since it was still good at the time he checked it. Fast forward a year, I came in and spoke to Jesse again and asked if he could check my brake fluid to see if it needed changing. He kindly did so and was honest with me and told me that my brake fluid was still good and did not need changing and that I could probably push the service a little longer. Keep in mind, this second time I came in I had no other services done. Their honesty and fair prices have definitely converted me into a regular customer. I will be bringing my vehicle here for my maintenance oil changes because their prices are better than the previous place I was going to.

Last summer, they painted the entire exterior from a dirty dull beige to a lively white with black trim. They patched up all the holes/cracks in the stucco, power washed, and taped EVERYTHING! At the end of each day, they cleaned up and put away the tools so the house was still accessible. It's crazy how different the house looks compared to before. I'm just loving it! Then over the winter, Chris' team returned because I wanted my garage refinished. I had 70s paneling and broken/crumbling dry wall. Considering how much time I spend in my garage, I can't believe I lived with such an eye sore for so many years. I gave Chris the hard task of wanting smooth walls, and if you know...that's a whole lot of sanding. His team came through and delivered! I love the new paint color on the walls, and no longer despise my garage. Oh, and also want to mention that he also patched up a bunch of holes inside my house (from electrical work I had done) and matched the existing wall texture and paint. You can't even tell the difference. Overall, Chris is amazing to work with. He's super responsive via text/calls. But my truck barely passed the last 5 times over the last ten years. I would nervously get it done each time and it would pass within one or five points each time for the HC. I would heat it up really hot and rev the engine at 3k rpm while waiting for the smog tech to get ready. Done with those days passes now all almost zeros. I've got one more old Chevy that is my age - and probably needs to get done also. You've probably only ever heard the price to replace the cats on a Prius - but I think most cars are just a small fraction of that price. Mine was a simple one cat system. If you do have a Prius come here. They build cages that have adapted to the evolution of cat thieves. As the thieves up their game so do these guys.

Super awesome place! Blew out my tire on 880 this last Saturday and went to Bruce's to get a new one. I was helped out by Egly (the store manager) and he was super respectful and didn't waste my time at all. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes despite the fact that when I arrived there were 4 other people in the office. They got me a new tire at a fair price and changed it quickly. I also got a new pair of windshield wipers and they forgot to put them on and Egly noticed while I was paying and he went out there and quickly did it himself. I really appreciated his help and how quickly they took care of me. The prices were fair and the service was fantastic, I highly recommend this place! Please avoid this place at all cost. I took my car for tire change. Horrible experience- they damaged my $3800 alloy wheel rims while replacing the tires, when showed to the manager he said this is normal while changing the weights. Guess they never heard of rubber scrapers. When I asked to get them repaired or pay for it they said the max they will pay is about $300 & change. The repair cost over $600. Never offered to pay back installation as a compensation for shoddy job as well. Showed the wheels to 3 tire places and all of them said proper removal of weights and proper installation should never damage the wheels. Bruce Tire has no clue about installing tires or wheels... save your wheels go to a proper tire shop. read more

We own a two-axle travel trailer and I noticed one of the four tires was going flat. Pumped it up and it went half-flat again. At 4:00 pm I took the wheel and tire to Bruce's in Fremont and Emmanuel Canes, Sales Manager, was manning the customer svc desk. He personally took the tire/wheel out of my Honda and found a nail/staple in the tread. They fixed it right then..at 4:30 PM!! They have years of experience and the right "can-do" attitude... Anywhere else would have made me come back tomorrow.. and then I would have been re-installing in the RAIN!. Thank you again Emmanuel Canes!! read more

After driving a long way in the heat, my car started having trouble and overheating. I went to the nearest car repair (which happened to be Bruce's Tires). It was only a half hour before they closed, but they stayed later just to help me figure out what was wrong with the car. I tried this place solely because my name is Bruce, well my Ford needs a wheel change too. I came in there said my name is Bruce and if I get any discount, and the guy joked and say why not. A whole set with the works cost me less than 800 bucks, usually I get it at costco and they charge me more than a grand. Guy said it will be done in an hour, I walk around, came back an hour later and it was ready to go. Now that's what I call professionalism. Not like those folks down at costco. read more

After going to two different shop that could not get it right. I was directed to Eggly at Bruce's. The service I received was best I've encountered in a long time. Overall very good customer service, but they quoted me a lower than the actual price which was disappointing. I got my tires replaced and they needed to replace the break pads also, the price was over $100 my quote. But overall the maintenance and tire replacement went well. read more

Tesla will go to your location and fix the flat or replace the same brand of tire if needed. I was not aware of this service until my son reminded me. I had a complete flat tire in my garage and called Geico. The tow truck driver came and took me to Universal Tire because I heard this place was fast and competitive. The shop took off my tire and tested the leak and said I need to replace the tire because there are two punctures and they are too close to each other. The shop said I need to replace two tires instead of one and the cost was going to be around $1,000 for the exact same brand on my 2025 model Y. I did not feel comfortable about this situation so I left. The lesson I learned is to contact Tesla if I ever have a flat tire in the future. Tesla technician came within an hour and fixed the tire for a total of $103 because the puncture was only in one spot and the tire could be plugged. Tesla did provide an initial quote to replace a new tire for $395 in case it really needed. I was ok with that and Tesla did not say I needed to replace both tires. The technician did this work in his mobile van and he explained to me about his test and what he did to fix the tire. I was both surprised and happy. Tesla technician (Manny) was really helpful and HONEST. This may be an isolated case with Universal tires & wheel but I just want to share my experience and hope this helps others.

Then in the middle of this his maintenance guy comes in and says he simply put the "bolt" back in and everything's good to go. Awkward. Then he's trying to get me to pay $190 to flush my brakes and says there's no way to know if theres a leak until my brakes get flushed. What??? Of course I don't do it and take my car to another more reputable shop to get the brakes checked just to make sure, and they tell me everything looks good. I can't say with certainty he was deliberately trying to scam me, but he's obviously giving tons of WRONG INFORMATION that could've cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars while banking on me not knowing much about cars. On top of all that - after looking at the invoice I see they charge a 4% CREDIT CARD PAYMENT fee but didn't mention a single word about it. Not only is 4% MORE than what they have to pay for their own processing but not properly disclosing it or giving me an option to pay with cash or debit seems to border on ILLEGAL according to state laws. SHADY.

I had actually put this project off for a long time because I kept hearing how difficult the programming side could be--and that turned out to be true. Lo, the owner, was upfront and confident. He had done the same upgrade on his own vehicle and was willing to take it on. The physical installation was completed without any issues, but as expected, we ran into problems with the programming. Despite having everything we needed on paper, the system wouldn't cooperate, and getting help from the manufacturer turned into a frustrating process that dragged on for days. Here's where Pop's really stood out. Lo and his team stuck with it. They spent days troubleshooting, making calls, and following up--far beyond what most shops would be willing to do. At one point, we even discussed backing out of the upgrade entirely, and Lo made it clear he wouldn't charge me if it came to that. That level of honesty and fairness is rare. Instead of giving up, they kept pushing. On the final day, through sheer persistence, they finally got through to the right person, got the correct information, and completed the programming successfully.
