A solid 10/10 im gluten intolerant and i was starving in maine until i got to this place! They offer tons of gluten free alternatives and i felt so happy and full for the first time im three days while i was there. The coffee, breakfast sandwich (made gluten free) with their chicken salad (premade) was top notch. My husband who is not gluten intolerant got breakfast pizza and few other pastries which were also so fresh. We made the trip to East Boothbay to check out the general store based on recommendations that I had read. The lobster roll was loaded with lobster meat. It had a lemon, chive seasoning, which made it unique ($38). The chicken salad wrap was good. Their baked items looked great. There was a small seating area in an enclosed porch as well as two picnic tables outside. They did not have a public restroom, which was disappointing. The staff was friendly, all wearing matching aprons There are several gift items in the store. It is worth mentioning that the store is on a sharp corner and parking can be a little tricky. read more

Bought muffins , a peanut butter cookie and a sandwich, the Roman. The ciabatta was good but the sandwich was only average especially for the outrageous price of $15.00! The muffins and cookie were excellent. I would go back but only for the baked goods. The sandwich was just too expensive. East Boothbay Market came highly recommended, so we were really looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, we couldn't have been more disappointed -- particularly with the customer service. We waited in a short line outside before opening at 8:00. I greeted an employee with a friendly "good morning," and she completely ignored me. We then asked if an egg sandwich could be made without cheese. We were rudely told no, despite seeing several egg sandwiches being made at the time. To top it off, the coffee we were served right at opening was lukewarm. We gave it another try that afternoon for lunch. The store was essentially empty, with four employees standing behind the counter. There was one turkey sandwich available, and when we asked if more were coming, we were told they were being made. We asked if one could simply be made plain, and again were told no. We waited, watched them restock the sandwiches, and no one even bothered to let us know they were ready. This is a small market where good customer service should be a priority, and unfortunately our experience was the complete opposite. The food may be good, but the consistently rude and unhelpful service made the experience not worth it. We will not be returning and cannot recommend East Boothbay Market. read more

I just wanted to provide an update on my earlier review. I now rate this place is highly as I can. They've adjusted their attitude and their operations so that it is now really a fantastic place to go. Awesome food, and we we go here every couple of days when we're here. Every time we stay in Ocean Point, we make at least one trip to the East Boothbay General Store. Usually, we pick up sandwiches (call ahead) before we head out on a hike or pick up breakfast sandwiches on our way out of town to return to our non-vacation life. We ordered six sandwiches yesterday for our lunch before going on a kayak trip and were told it would be 40 minutes before we could pick it up which was fine. However, when we arrived at 12:40pm the sandwiches weren't ready and we ended up not receiving them until 1pm. In recognition of our extra wait (which really wasn't a problem - they were clearly slammed with phone orders) they threw in five huge cookies (which was totally unnecessary). The gesture was very much appreciated and the cookies were delicious and worth the extra twenty-minute wait! Next time you're in the area, be sure to pay a visit to the East Boothbay General Store! read more

This may be the most well-rounded eatery I've ever encountered. We spent most of the week going there for breakfast, lunch and even dinner. Refreshing Ice coffees, delectable muffins, unexpected flavorful lobster rolls, fresh salads even super tasty pizzas. Like a five tooled player, these folks do it all. Honestly, they have no weaknesses and I'm actually looking forward to going there every waking moment next year when we return to Maine. read more

There food is wonderful from years past when I had no eating restrictions but unfortunately since going dairy free they really limit to all dietary needs. I asked if there was dairy in their scrambled egg and they said yes, so I asked if I could have a plain fried egg and they said they couldn't do that for me? So I couldn't get any breakfast option. Great spot for breakfast and lunch in East Boothbay. Liz and her team do a fantastic job putting out a gourmet menu of items in a relatively small place. Here you can find hot and cold sandwiches made to order, pizza, baked goods, wine, the New York Times, a great selection of drinks, buoy ball (a baseball bat game made from lobster buoys), clothing, unique art, and much more. The only downside is that they do not have a rest room, but the firehouse just across the road has a public bathroom so it is not too much of an inconvenience. read more

Walked over to get some breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Counter person was pleasant, small crowd milling about waiting for their orders. Plenty of things to look at while waiting for my sandwiches. Coffee was made immediately. Wait was about 10 minutes, which was fine with me. Spicy maple sausage sammich was superior to any dunkin sammich - real scrambled eggs, felt the mild heat of the maple, all on a toasty griddled wrap. Winner. Parking lot was full when I got there, so walk if you can! read more

I had the buffalo cauliflower wrap with cucumbers, shredded carrot, lettuce, and blue cheese, The hubs got spicy Thai peanut wrap with chicken, cucumber, carrot, scallions, red pepper, lettuce, and peanut sauce. We had some unsweetened iced tea and Deep River chips to top it off. The wraps were substantial without being unwieldy and tasted great. The shop is tiny: only four tables inside, but it would be a great idea to get your lunch to go and take it over to Ocean Point for great views. What a treat. Stumble on this after a conversation with a gallery owner. The food selections are such a treat from triple berries muffin to a Bahn Mi on a crunch French roll. Outstanding. Brought my Dad for coffee and breakfast while visiting...and came back each day for more. Muffins and coffee are outrageous. Best homemade muffins ive ever had. And quite a variety. What a lovely little gem! We were staying at Ocean Point Inn and made sure to pick up some food before they closed for the night. The pizza was excellent, and I'm from NY so I'm picky! We ordered the prosciutto and arugula and everything was well balanced and fresh. I was bummed to find out they were out of lobster rolls for the day though. Before we left town, we also picked up some breakfast for the road. I had an egg bacon and cheese on a croissant that was very good albeit a little too crumbly from the toasted croissant. My fiancée had the spicy maple wrap and he said it was very good too and it looked huge. The coffee was fresh and strong as well. If I lived in the area this would be my go to place! read more

This is an adorable general store. The wraps are very good and we have heard that the pizza is the best in town. We will have to try that during our next visit. Very pleasant staff!!
