On Father's Day I unfortunately had a craving for pork fried rice and General T'os chicken. So, as I was passing by, I decided to order and take it home along with some steamed dumplings. When I arrived home and began to eat. I could instantly tell there was something wrong. I had a terrible sour taste in my mouth. After further investigation. I was able to determine the pork in the rice was rotten. They disguised it, but the flavor doesn't lie. I don't care about the money that I paid. The fact that I threw it away. When our usual go to for Chinese take out closed, we had to quickly find a nearby replacement on short notice. After a menu review and a quick phone call for our vegetarian daughter to get some details on a couple of options we decided to give Yu's a try. Our order consisted of Hot & Sour and Egg Drop Soups, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon and an order of House Tofu to go along with some homemade Chicken Fried Rice. Everything was really good, daughter really liked her House Tofu. Only negative was the Egg Drop Soup unexpectedly had meat in it, which meant daughter ended up with no soup. This will probably be our new go to for Chinese take out and daughter is looking forward to trying the Ma Po Tofu dish recommended when she picked up dinner. read more

Since moving to Trussville, I had to find a new place for some Chinese food which one of my Yelp friend recommend I try this place out. What Yu's Garden stands out from different Chinese restaurants is the lunch menu prices are reasonable and not only do you get an egg roll and rice, but a soup choice of either egg drop or hot and sour. The sesame chicken is my favorite item to order which is always good and the chicken isn't breaded which I can't stand when restaurants try to pass it off as real chicken. The fried rice is also good, but wish I could get more than one scoop. They make there own Chinese mustard and it don't take much before you start feeling it in your nose so be cautious about how much you want on your food. read more

We just left this restaurant and didn't even get to our car. A couple seconds later a woman drove through the glass and hit our table. Had we been 15 seconds later,we would have been with the Lord. WS just there leaving now 12:40, so would say we were there before 12:00. Only 1 seated table eating. Toke several minutes to get drinks, then several more minutes to take order. She brings my husband his plate - runs around for several minutes, takes another table his plate I still have no food! Finally my food comes! Guess what! Cold as ice!!! Husband eats - I pick around( thank goodness ate the soup) then finally give up! Takes forever to try and get her attention, just went ahead and went to cash register and asked for go plate. Just ordered take-out (pick-up) from Yu's Garden I had the Mongolian Beef w/ egg roll and my husband had the shrimp w/ lobster sauce and an egg roll. My husband had No complaints about his food but, the texture of my Mongolian Beef was like shoe leather! Not tender nor supple but, more like trying to eat beef jerky drenched in soy sauce! The egg rolls had a peculiar smell to them and were dried out and difficult to chew! I ended up throwing my food in the trash! Because it was so disgusting! I work hard for my money and I'm so disappointed I feel like I just spent my hard earned cash on food that I couldn't even sat down and enjoy!!! We have been getting Yu's for years and it has been good. Seems lately the quality has gone down. Just ordered spicy honey wings and crab rangoons. Wings were slimy with no taste. I had to cook in the air frier to crisp up. The rangoons had not filling. Just hollow air. Yu's needs to pick up their game so we will keep ordering. read more

This restaurant does not earn a one star rating. The social skills of the employees are nonexistent, arrogant and ignorant of their on product. The "large" container of Egg Drop Soup liquid was just water that was easy to see through in the clear container, no ginger, a small amount of chicken scraps, two very small pieces of carrot, two peas, absolutely zero seasoning of any kind, two small nasty mushy shrimp, no corn starch, I could go on but suffice it to say the soup was made from "only" water and a few chicken, carrot and pea scraps. The Mongolian Beef was so sweet with "grainy sugar", yes you could see the sugar grains, it was so bad that it was inedible and only good for the trash. It had only two small strips of onion. The rice was old or way over cooked. I am 70 years old and my guess is that the egg rolls were half my age. The large order of Sesame Chicken with extra Sesame Seeds met the same standards. Nasty, Funky, Sickening service and food. If we had not been on the road and 30 miles from the restaurant I would have taken it back and demand a refund. When I visit Trussville again I hope to see the store under new ownership or closed for business...... read more

We recently moved to Trussville and have been searching for a good Chinese restaurant. We were not expecting Yu's Garden to be this. darn. good! It's located in a shopping strip mall next to Publix off Highway 11. Walking into the store, it looks like your average Chinese establishment, but once you take a bite of their food... wow! They are fast and the food is fantastic. Their egg drop soup is by FAR the best I've ever had. It comes in a package for two and has chunks of chicken and shrimp in there - and they don't skimp on size. We also ordered the crab rangoons, teriyaki chicken and curry chicken. Each meal can seriously be good for two individuals. I've eaten off my dinner from Sunday night for lunch for the past two days - so you know it's a large portion. I also really like that they include a lot of good vegetables (water chestnuts, snow peas, etc.) in your entrée. I was so happy because I was really craving some good Chinese food but had stopped going to Yu's a long time ago because the quality had really declined. Sadly there really are no other good Chinese restaurants in Trussville so I decided to give them a try since it had been so long. Everything was so fresh and flavorful and most importantly to me NOT greasy. We got egg rolls, vegetable fried rice and teriyaki chicken.
