The decor of this place is stunning, you can even tell from the outside that this place is special. My family loves coming here on Sundays after church because its so convenient. Nice decor, sufficient seating and parking areas. Good variety of foods. They also have a Mongolian grill. We did the buffet and the food just wasnt seasoned well. The lo mein and fried rice was good. But most foods didnt taste like traditional asian cuisine that I'm accustomed to eating at buffets. I don't know if this was an off day or what,but it did not make me want to return . Went and tried this place last night and I'm lost for words. This place was HORRIBLE and that's being nice. We both were disgusted, nothing tasted good. I was feeling sick all night. For the first time in a LONG time I ate at this East Buffet on 1960 just a few days ago. Since I found it somewhat improved over my last time there (was it really 3 years ago?!) I feel I should do an update review, from "Meh, I've had better" to "A-OK". First, the sushi selections seemed to be less than before, and were OK.....but they are just too cold and the rice gets tough and too chewy....but they're tolerable. The hot and sour soup seemed better than before. All the entree selections I chose were actually nice and tasty and definitely at correct temperatures, so I enjoyed the hot foods pretty much. (I saw they do Mongolian grill, and I don't remember it being there before. I didn't notice them making anything for anyone while I was there.) All-in-all, I would recommend the place now with a little more enthusiasm. read more

I came here with my boyfriend too see the hype about it and it was not great but kinda of decent. The variety was the norm for a buffet but what got me was the sushi. Which was horrible. I had some salmon sashimi and I had a fish bone in my fish not once but twice. I was horrified because if it weren't for me actually chewing my food I would have swallowed and something bad could have happened. Needless, to say won't come back as well as the desserts weren't great except for the fried donuts. Those were like funnel cakes and taste good. Everything else was mediocre. Never will go again.. Food was bland , very much a disappointment... I went there because commercial stated crab legs on their buffet.. No where during the commercial does it state certain days or times.. We went and walked in and a sign was right by register saying crab legs only served on Friday and Saturday evenings..We drove out of our way to go there for the crab legs... Basically their commercial is false advertisement.. The cashier lady even said she agreed with me and that many customers have complained for this same reason and they also went for the crab legs... So between them false advertising and the food was sooo tasteless I won't be going back.. I will stick to East Cafe in Humble texas lol read more

Although I'm giving this place 4 stars keep in mind it's a chinese buffet. It's great as far as chinese buffets go. I've eaten here a few time and have tried the buffet, sushi bar, and Mongolian grill. Buffet is plentiful and the only common dish I didn't like at all was the general tso. I've had way better. Everything else was top notch though. The sushi is good and is prepared in front of you. The Mongolian grill is damned good and has has a good mix of items to choose from. I'm addicted to this place, I know I go about twice a week. Very friendly staff and the food is delicious. I've only eaten in once, but get mine to go. The price is determined by the weight [lunch & dinner vary]. I especially love the classic buffet offerings but also the mongolian grill where you can have any protein, veggie etc prepared for you. After all the hype running the commercials for this place we decided to drive from kingwood and give this place a try. Needless to say we were very disappointed. For a place that has such a big selection you would think it would have good food. Everything was awful and I got so sick from eating the crab legs. This place was not worth the $70 we paid for. First time going since its been recently opened. The food was pretty great and the welcoming ladies were nice and welcoming, also the table person who refilled our drinks and brought us our ticket. They had a good variety of food selections and desserts were so many too choose from including of course ice cream, yay.. vanilla or chocolate or mixed to get from. Also the have a bar where they cook your Mongolian choosing of whatever you build it from... select your proteins, veggies, sauce, ect and they will grill it up for you right there, something I gotta try it next time. The chairs and tables were nice and comfortable also good thing they have a napkin dispensers with basic condiments on the table, beats having to fetch down a waitress to just get some more extra napkins! I suggest Stopping y during the weekday at lunch since it's a few bucks cheaper then on a weekend to try it out yourselves, since obviously a lot of us have a different taste to the foods and of likeness. read more

The food was bland and had no flavor to it and you can even smell the oldness of it. Each time I went to try something different from the buffet I returned disappointed with the options they had. I also tried the hibachi that they had and was surprised with the few options they had in terms of meat and vegetables. I know what it means when they say that you get what you pay for but I definitely paid too much for the food there. The set up of the restaurant is not very good at all since all the food is towards the back of and the seating is all in the front. When I first arrived I asked to be seated in a booth and was offered a booth 5 feet from the door, and when I asked for a booth closer to the food I was then returned with a smug attitude. I was only serviced by the waitress twice during my visit there and the first was for more drink and the second to bring the check. This place is new and hopefully these issues will be addressed soon. read more

Honestly , this is my first review and the reason for that is I've never really had the idea of doing food reviews because I didn't think it was necessary until today. The food here today was just disgusting. I used to enjoy east buffet when it first came out and were advertising on the tv , and I was glad I heard about it because of how great it was. Fast forwarding months later I decide to come back and some delicious Asian food , or so I thought. When I came in I was prompted with good service but the food couldn't match it. The meats by the grill had been sitting there all day and looked dry and digusting , the foods were either not cooked correctly or it had just sat there too long for it to taste good. After I had noticed that I wasn't going to enjoy the food they cooked for me I went to the buffet to get some food. I didn't find anything too appealing there and I ate the thing that looked the most appealing. Moments after eating this , I decided to go please my self with a soft serve ice cream cone to atleast come out with something satisfying but I was decieved the machine wasn't properly spitting out the correct flavors. Vanilla was a mixture of both chocolate and vanilla , while the mix handle didn't pour anything out. Since I didn't get to get vanilla like I had desired I went for the chocolate and I was unpleasrd finding out it was watery. The chocolate ice cream had looked like it was going to be good but the taste just didn't stand out. After I paid the 37 dollars ,I felt robbed paying for 2 adults and one child. I wouldn't mind paying this money for food in general but for something like this I felt robbed . The price wasn't the problem in my opinion back then it was perfect for what you were paying for , but now you end up spending a bit of money on food that makes your stomache upset , which I ended up with . We had an order delivered from East Buffet through "Eat Out In" and was EXTREMELY disappointed. The egg rolls were under cooked, the Beef in the Lo Mein had NO flavor & was rubbery, the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce was watery & bland with tiny frozen shrimp, the BBQ ribs were VERY tough & undercooked without much flavor....the Hot & Sour Soup was good. I would comment on the General Tso's Chicken but, even though paid for, was NOT sent with the order. Everything was ordered Med Spicy...No spicy at all. Never again. read more

I love going to this place. The food is good, the scenery is also good. I don't think I have many problems. It's only bad when you go during rush hour and everyone is at the buffet line and you get stuck eating scraps. The only problem I had was yesterday, even though it was completely me and my boyfriends fault for not reading, we went doing a bad time. Dinner, after 3:30. Worst mistake people don't do it, the buffet goes from 8.99 to fucking 12.99. 12.99 for a single person buffet?! Rip offf!!!!!!! Plus the 1.99 for a drink! Me and my boyfriend ended up paying 31 dollars for just the two of us. Unacceptable. Never going here again after that. Plus they have a sign that they add 2 dollars per plate on the bill if you waste food. Seriously? I'm never going to this place again, I can go some where the buffet doesn't go from 8.99 to 12.99 anywhere. Why the hell would anyone want to eat a buffet for 12.99. I learned my lesson.
