I had the General Tso chicken, shrimp fried rice and an eggroll . Everything was amazing and the eggroll was one of thr best eggroll ive ever had . Customer service is horrible. I walk up to the counter and the lady didn't say a word both times I visited. I made a point to say "Hello, how are you" like I worked there. There's definitely an odor when you walk in but I ignored that telling myself it's a "seafood smell". There's not a lot of quality Chinese restaurants in the area & beggars can't be choosers. Got the sweet and sour chicken dinner and crab rangon. Food had a bad taste like they used old oil, Chicken was super dry like it had been under a heat lamp all day. Fried rice was tasteless. i've heard about this place for yearssss by locals and have been wanting to try it out. and since i've been craving crab rangoons I decided to finally place a to go order here! I've only ever tried general tso chicken from one place before and I did not like it, but I wanted to give it another try. so I ordered the general tso chicken from here, and wow it was good! my husband liked it as well. We got the dinner combo that came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. the rice was cooked *perfectly* and was not soggy by the time we got home. the egg role, *delectable* and veryyyy flavorful. I actually don't like egg roles either, I prefer fried spring rolls any day over them. but I wasn't sure if it was an option to sub the egg role for fried spring roll so I kept it and i'm glad I did!!! and last but not least what I originally came here for, the crab rangoons, heavenly. i'll definitely be back next time i'm craving chinese!! read more

Best Chinese food in Houston. I'm from the northeast and this mom and pop shop is the closest thing I've found to ny Chinese food. Pork fried rice was perfectly cooked! No grease or oil residue. I first went to them about a year ago (pictures attached), eating it with some leftover tilapia while burning the midnight oil on a freelance project. The fun part is the lady that deals with pickup orders is not very nice and acts like you are brother-in-law her when you come to pick your order up. I've gone twice( both during the pandemic) and you have To pick up through an odd little window and they just want you gone. I've had chicken fried rice( asked for no peas or carrots,surprise! Chinese heaven!! Food is delicious here and the lady at the counter is so nice. This place reminded me of the Chinese spot I use to go to back in New York. First time I tried this place I ordered broccoli with garlic sauce and white rice. Garlic sauce was on point, spicy and sweet but not too spicy and just the right amount. My fiancé ordered the sesame chicken with egg fried rice, (another fav dish of mine), so I had to try it too. It was really good, chicken and rice was delicious. OMGosh.... OMGosh..... OMGosh!!!! Great Wall made me a believer. I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT eat Lo Mein of ANY kind before I tried it here at Great Wall. I just wouldn't. Maybe they've changed cooks or something in the past several months, but this place is going downhill :( Ever since that video circulated around of their seafood being unloaded in an uncovered, silver tray from the back of a trunk in middle of the day, I've been hesitant to eat food from here. In recent months, I've had their chicken maybe twice- BOTH times it was undercooked and was lacking any veggies or sauce. What they claimed was the "sauce" was a couple of spoonfuls of some gooey, gelatinous substance that they just slapped on the chicken which looked disgusting. Best crab/cheese puffs I've ever had, & I've been to sooo many places. Great service, fast, friendly, food is always smokin hot, & the price is right!!!! Everybody is right about the location. It's kind of deceiving. It's old and definitely could use some cleaning and remodeling. Having said that, the prices are more than fair. The food is good Americanized Chinese food. I enjoyed my General Tso's chicken and eggroll. The service is friendly and relatively quick. The flavor is bland and the hot and spicy shrimp is just slop in a bowl. The shrimp fried rice was THE WORST of it all. Now how could you scree that up?!?! Money wasted; dinner ruined. Its next to HEB and it just looks old and trashy. Once inside of the restaurant its another story the decor looks fairly new and cashier was very friendly. My order: a plate of chow mein with chicken. Very delicious. It was made as soon as I ordered it. Big pieces of chicken. Partners order: Chicken with vegetables (sorry cant remember the name of this plate). Vegetables tasted fresh and the chicken was just great. They have an extensive list of items on the menu so I will be coming back to try other plates. Big portions served one plate can easily be split between two people. Terrible experience and horrendously run business. First off, I would never eat here, it's disgusting and smells like a pet store inside. I first tried calling this location to place an food delivery service order, I was greeted on the phone with "we don't take order over phone you must come in" and proceeded to hang up on me. no hello thank you for.... that's what I got. Great etiquette Leme tell ya, a real professional he was. So I get to the pet store and I'm greeted by a just as equally rude woman behind plexiglass eating and playing with her phone never washes her hands, acts like I'm not there... gives me endless grief the whole time, just nasty rude. anyways I place the damn order and she yells see "declined this why we don't take order over phone" apparently this particular food delivery service card is always declined.... hmmmm, maybe upgrade your garbage equipment and processes perhaps?How much cigarette smoke and filth did you clog your machine with was all I was thinking about, no wonder it doesn't work.
