Today I was driving and decided to try a Cajun Restaurant I've been looking at for a while. I walked and was regretted warmly as the just opened. I selected the Medium sized Shrimp Gumbo, which is a large in most places, and the Shrimp and Catfish seafood platter w Dirty Rice , sweet and vinegary Coleslaw and delicious buttered rolls perfect for sopping up the last of that delicious backend heating gumbo. They spaced out the delivery of the gumbo and platter. I could taste they too great pride in there food as the cocktail and Tarter sauce were made fresh. The butter fried shrimp and the catfish were perfectly coated with a crisp crust that expertly seasoned. DELICIOUS MEAL AND. ERY FRIENDLY STAFF. NOTHING BUT PLUSES HERE! I wanted to be wowed because I heard great things about this place! The fried catfish is done really well - the batter is thin, seasoned perfectly. The 3 pieces were inconsistent in size though. The sides were alright. I just saw the price hikes compared to a few months ago and I'm not sure the 3 piece catfish with 2 sides is worth $16 after tax. Also it was pretty empty. The young lady that took our order greeted us immediately as we entered. She was very friendly and polite. Great service. I wish we had taken pictures but we were starving We had the shrimp gumbo to start. I was tasty and comes with a piece of grilled buttery toast. It was delish! Then we had the grilled red fish tacos. The Baja sauce on the tacos was to tasty. I'm picky about cole slaw and they hot a bullseye in my book, so good. The red beans and rice was also very yummy. All food is prepared from scratch, in house. The freshness of all the food came through with each bite. We cant wait to bring our daughter when she comes home next week. Finally, we had the opportunity to dine in this establishment. This hidden gem. Luckily we remembered to visit this place last week. The place wasn't busy upon our arrival, 4 guests were seated and a few standing in line for their orders. This gave us an opportunity to view their menu that was seated up on the wall perfectly. There were photos along both side walls as you walk up to the register and they all look so delicious. Orders placed and seated at one of the booths and honestly pleased with how the food tasted. On Monday, my partner ordered redfish and shrimp with a side of cole slaw. We had take out ... so when he was eating The Cole Slaw, he said it was "...best damned Cole Slaw in the south". Except when I got home I realized it was a piece of grilled tilapia on my plate (which isn't even listed on their menu as a fish they offer). The flavor was there. Visited here on a Friday evening, they had several customers either ordering to-go, online orders and there were a handful of us dining in. I'll start with the staff who were exceptionally friendly and courteous. They came to check on us as we dined and gave us extra sauce as needed. Not only were we greeted, they thanked us for coming. You don't realize how rare that is until someone does it. Our food was good. I ordered shrimp etouffée and it was a hearty serving so I gladly ate the rest the following day and the flavor remained in tact. Was it spicy or have a distinguishing? No, but it also wasn't so salty or flavorless that I didn't enjoy it. We shared the red beans and rice, this I wish had a little more heat or meaty flavoring. My companion had the fried combo platter (with a substitute for the oysters) and added some extra jumbo shrimp which they enjoyed. The toast that came with both meals was buttery and paired well. They also ordered the blueberry dessert to which that was so good there was no offer to share. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience. Shortly after eating here, I ended up with severe stomach pain and diarrhea. This was the only thing I ate that day, so I'm convinced the food made me sick. This place is SO good! We were in town for a golf tournament and found this hidden gem. The food was so amazing we went back the following evening and ate again before heading out of town. It looks like a hole in the wall in a strip mall, but I find those are usually the best places to eat! Shrimp gumbo was amazing, so were the hush puppies! She also ordered hush puppies and loved them. I ordered blackened redfish and it was tasty. If you are looking for New Orleans style blackening they missed it, but it was seasoned very good and will work for most tastebuds. I ordered the red beans and rice. They were presented well, but again lacked that real Cajun flavor. I added hot sauce and it brought it alive. Great place for a delicious meal to celebrate Mothers Day! We had a group of 6 and ordered everything from the blackened redfish to a burger an everything in between. All the food was delicious and the portions were huge! Average price was about$25 per person with tips and no alcohol. read more

We stopped by on a whim as we were in the neighborhood. We did the yelp thing and this place sparked our interest with its 4.5 stars. Being a South Louisiana boy I honestly didn't think I would be all that impressed, but what the hell, you only live once. All in all, it is not bad for a strip center "Hole in the wall"! We explained that it was our first time there and needed a minute to look over the menu. We had the seafood fondue which was a little smokey from the mushrooms, which I liked very much. Although we both agreed, the crawfish were well portioned but it could have used a bit more shrimp. Not that it took away from the flavor, It's just our thoughts. My wife had the grilled redfish and shrimp with hush puppies and red beans and rice. It was all very flavorful even if the red beans and rice tasted a bit like charro beans which we laughed at the fact that may have been influenced by the all Hispanic kitchen staff. I do not remember what it was called, but I had grilled fish smothered in crawfish étouffée on a bed of jambalaya! It was very, very good. The jambalaya had lots of crawfish tails, chicken, sausage, and shrimp. The fish was cooked to perfection, it separated with the slightest pressure from your fork. The seasonings and flavors blended well together between the jambalaya, the fish and the étouffée. It was very good. I had mine with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were HUGE! Although, They were good, to me they left a little to be desired. Although I do like the massive slabs of fried onion, I wasn't crazy about the texture of the batter, just my personal preference. Maybe next time I will ask them to fry them a bit longer. I like my onion rings with a little more crunch. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely eat here again. Once again, I cannot emphasize enough, The place was ridiculously clean and the staff was over the top amazing with service. I highly recommend a visit. read more

My son takes piano lessons near here and I was craving soup/stew so decided to call and order a cup of gumbo. I asked for extra garlic toast and the sweet girl on the phone told me sure how many? As if I could say any number! And trust me, it was so tempting to say 10! Lol. Anyway, I went with 3 slices and that's what I got... nicely wrapped in foil the last one was still hot an hour later when we got home! I know nothing about Cajun food... after all, I'm a Jersey girl but their gumbo really was delicious. What I was most impressed by though was the amazing service! It has sausage and celery and rice in a nice, thick, dark brown sauce- very good. I ordered the New Orleans redfish with sides of white rice and veggies ( carrots and broccoli). It's grilled with a nice shrimp, crawfish, spinach wine cream sauce - delicious. My friend ordered the Mixed platter, with 3 fried shrimp, 2 fried catfish, 2 fried chicken, 1 boudin ball, and a fried jalapeno, with his choice of sides of onion rings and red beans and rice.
