    Manager ANGEL.
    Jennifer D.

I visited Crusty Crab last night and ordered the small seafood platter with Cajun sauce. The sauce itself was absolutely delicious--flavorful and well-balanced. The potato, corn, and side of rice were also excellent. However, once we began eating the seafood, things took a sharp turn. After just a few bites--a couple of shrimp, two clams, and half a crab leg--I began to feel extremely nauseous. The flavor was overwhelming and unpleasant, almost like seawater, and I couldn't stomach any more. My dining companion and I left 97% of the seafood untouched. I requested lemon water or something to cleanse my palate, but the discomfort was immediate and intense. Our waiter was outstanding--attentive, understanding, and very professional. He brought over the manager on duty, Angel, to address the issue. I want to be clear: I wasn't looking for a refund or to avoid paying. I simply wanted the dish to be acknowledged as inedible and, ideally, accommodated appropriately since I couldn't eat it. Unfortunately, the response I received from Angel was shockingly rude and unprofessional. From the moment he approached our table, he was defensive and dismissive. When I mentioned that the seafood didn't taste fresh and that I was feeling sick, he took it personally and responded aggressively, insisting their seafood is always fresh and that they've never received complaints. I explained that I've been a loyal customer and this location is actually one of our favorites, but the food that night was not up to standard. Rather than listening, Angel continued to argue and even questioned whether I was truly feeling sick, claiming it would take 24-48 hours for symptoms to appear. I reminded him he was a restaurant manager--not a medical professional--and that making such claims was both inappropriate and dismissive. When I asked for his name, he became even more confrontational. He loudly stated, "I don't gotta write down shit for nobody," and walked away. This level of disrespect and lack of accountability was truly appalling. What upset me most was not the food, but the way I was treated. Angel showed no empathy or professionalism. After a lengthy and uncomfortable discussion, he finally offered a 25% discount, only to later apply just 10% at checkout. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant setting. I will be contacting corporate regarding this matter and am also considering speaking with legal counsel due to the severity of how this situation affected me physically and emotionally.

Don't dine here! I used a brand new card that I had not yet used and the waiter stole my credit card numbers and purchase SHEIN orders. Yesterday, I visited Crafty Crab - Houston - FM 1960 for dinner to wait out the traffic. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only about three ppl dining in. I usually avoid using my debit card, but since I had a new one that hadn't been used yet, I decided to use it for this purchase. While dining, I noticed that the waitress took an unusually long time with my card, especially considering I was seated right next to the register. I saw her coming from the back with drinks for the only other table on that side before returning my card to me. After returning home, I received two notifications indicating that my card had just been used at SHEIN. I immediately checked my transaction history to ensure everything else was correct; all other charges were either through Apple Pay or automatic payments, as I had stopped providing my debit card directly to businesses. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager but was hung up on three times. When someone finally answered, they attempted to disguise their voice before asking what I needed. As I explained the situation, they hung up again. I continued calling--eight times in total--and each time, they either ignored me or picked up only to laugh and hang up again. Eventually, a "manager" answered, though he could barely speak English and kept asking me to repeat myself. After finally looking up my receipt to verify that I had dined there, he quickly denied any wrongdoing, claiming, "Oh no, my waiter didn't do this; we were too busy at that time" (which was clearly not the case). Stay cautious and protect your financial information.

Manager is very rude & discriminatory. There's absolutely no hospitality or customer service from the current manager here, i will say the host i seen today & the server I had had good service but the manager here is beyond unprofessional and should be removed from this establishment as he has NO interpersonal skills . Today me and a friend came and got drinks , my drink was absolutely terrible so I politely asked the manager (as he was walking through) if i was able to switch it out or not , basically he said no i could change me NEXT drink and i told him okay understandable. After trying the drink again i asked my server if i could have some simple syrup to try to make it better and im assuming she asked the manager to which he respond NO maybe on my next drink. Which i find very rude especially since im willing to pay for it even though 2 pumps of sugar i think should be free especially as a manager of a business you look for a solution but i digress. I asked to speak to him directly to see why i couldn't have any. BEFORE I EVEN WAS ABLE TO LET OUT A WORD, the manager came over to the table and immediately pointed out my FRIENDS drink and said "oh and you already drunk half "????with an attitude Mind you IT WAS MY DRINK WITH THE PROBLEM not hers & my drink was literally still full i only took 2 sips!! So im immediately appalled at the hostility it was so crazy I've never experienced such aggression from the jump before i could even ask a simple question . So i said can you calm down?? I haven't even said anything and you're talking about my friends drink when im the one with the problem. He counties to huff and puff and rush me AGGRESSIVELY as im asking him to not be so hostile because im literally so confused as to why he's already upset with me ? I truly wish this incident was recorded because he doesn't need to work here or be in management at all with this terrible attitude. I am a server , so to see a business with with absolutely no hospitality was crazy to me because i haven't been to a place like this in a very long time and i see why no matter how good the food is a bad manger will run it to the ground! After explaining and communicating to him I HAVE NO PROBLEM paying for the drink my food and still tipping my amazing server he cut me off and said so what you want the sugar i said yes and he stormed off and had my server bring me some. Ruined my appetite but i stayed and ate a little cause i didn't want him to ruin me and my friends time we rarely get. This situation was highly inappropriate from a manager and i hope he ha the day he deserves.

15 bucks for this. Not worth it. They did not even give me tartar sauce come on now that's like obvious with fish

We were seated at immediately, but after sitting for a few minutes with no greeting, I realized something wasn't right. I had to walk back to the hostess stand to let them know we hadn't been assigned a server. Turns out, we were seated in a section that didn't even have a server until 5:00 PM. That's not a small oversight--that's a breakdown in communication at the front. Now, to their credit, once our server stepped in, things started to turn around. Drinks came out quickly. I ordered my usual Long Island, and I loved that it was served in a branded mason jar--cute touch, definitely added to the vibe. (Still wondering if I was supposed to keep it or not ) We started with appetizers: The crawfish pistolet was the standout. Flavorful, rich, and honestly the best thing we had. My only complaint is they needed a little more bread to balance all that filling. The fried green tomatoes were cooked well and the portion was generous (almost two whole tomatoes), but they were under-seasoned. I had to add salt and rely on the sauce to bring them to life. Now let's talk about the menu--it's huge. We're talking seafood, burgers, fried chicken, boils, ceviche... everything but the kitchen sink. And while options are nice, it does make you question how fresh everything really is when a restaurant is trying to do that much. Overall, this place felt like it was trying to recover from a rough start--and partially succeeded. There are definitely some highlights (that pistolet!), but also some inconsistency that keeps it from being a full win. Final verdict: 3.5-4 stars. Come for the seafood favorites, but they've got some tightening up to do on service flow and seasoning.
