In no time at all we had determined which model we wanted, located it in their warehouse, and made arrangements for a delivery and installation in just 2 days! She certainly set our expectations high for what to expect. The person who kept in touch by text to update us while we waited was on point, timely dispensing needed information thorughout the day on Sunday. And that app you use with the map is such a stress reliever -- no wondering and worrying anymore for those of us waiting at home. Finally, our tech James was the best! He obviously knew what he was doing, and was efficient and businesslike without losing his ability to be friendly. He was in and out quickly with no fuss or mess left for us to deal with. My wife and I decided to try ECA after her sister had recently purchased a brand new "French door" refrigerator and she had a positive experience. We went to the Military Hwy location and Ty met us as we walked in. Ty was very friendly and patient with us as we were shopping for a new refrigerator and an electric range. He showed us what they had and we picked out the ones we wanted, he was great to work with and he completed the transaction with ease. My made us feel like valued customers so we vowed to look him up when we return to shop for a washer and dryer real soon before he goes on vacation. Great selection, great value. This is the worst place. We bought a dish washer and paid to have it installed. The installer said there was a pre-existing problem thinking there was a leak. My husband was there and there was no water or puddle. The installer said he had water on his hand and my husband said he lied since he saw his hand. We determined he did not want to install the unit. We paid for the install but my husband had to sign and they said we were not intitled to a refund. Do not go to this place. They were cheaper than Lowes but with them not installing it would have been the same price. Last time we get taken. Beware people! read more

Service is 0 stars. The only thing installed correctly is the dishwasher. 4 out of 5 appliances installed incorrectly or needed service calls in 6 weeks. Once they have your money, they don't care if it takes weeks to get to you. Service is 9-4 so good luck getting them on the phone if you have a job too. They'll tell you the reason they showed up to your service call, and can't do anything to fix it after youve waited a week, is because their boss keyed the service call incorrectly and their going to paperless so everything is "a train wreck" right now. Save your self the time and money, actually shop local, not this store. After 8k in appliances, the value is not here. They will waste your time and money, not call you back in reasonable time, swear their boss will call you, and you'll be left...with appliances that don't work. Enjoy! read more

I knew what I wanted when I went to East Coast Appliance. I already did my research on the price that East Coast Appliance had to beat for me to buy a Bosch 100 dishwasher. The bottom line number to compare was from Home Depot which was running a special. As soon as I walked in, Kyle Eickenberg already greeted me. I had asked where the dishwasher was and Kyle quickly walked me to where it was. I mentioned about being able to get a rebate from Dominion Energy from Home Depot. Kyle quickly checked and came back with 2 page print out for me to keep, and clearly explained how I can get the rebate but I will have to send it in instead of having the rebate applied immediately. East Coast Appliance truly is the store to beat when it comes to guaranteed lowest prices. While the dishwasher price was exactly as what was offered by Home Depot, the savings were in the delivery, hookup kit and installation and haul away fees. I was able to save $50. Highly recommend this place for great service and prices. read more

We have always bought appliances through East Coast Appliance. Not anymore. Apparently they are only good when things go right. When things are bad expect to hear a ton of gaslighting and mansplaining about how the top of the line appliance you paid a fortune for isn't really faulty at all. It must be my ears that are faulty. They delivered the first dryer that sounded like it had sneakers in it when it was empty. The installers all agreed it sounded horrible. I then had 3 more dryers delivered that we sent back because they had massive dents in them straight out of the box. The 4th dryer arrived and sounds so so loud. They refused to take it back- even if I paid a 2/3rd restocking fee. Told me that all dryers sound that way. What a waste of money. Now I have the most expensive and noisiest dryer I've ever owned. I wouldn't have minded so much if they hadn't told me that I was delusional and didn't know what I was talking about. Being handed a poopy sandwich and being told "sorry about the poopy sandwich" is better than being given a poopy sandwich and being told it's steak - you just don't understand that all steak tastes this way you poor confused little lady. read more

If I could post 0 stars then I would. It doesn't shock me this business has 2 stars as a whole. Bought a washing machine from them Tuesday. Before purchasing, spoke to a gentleman Monday who said there was a return policy of 7 days but there'd be a 15% restock fee if it wasn't what we wanted and as long as it was brand new condition. We specifically asked him (Vick?) about this because we were concerned with the great reviews BUT didn't know if the capacity would be enough. Picked it up Wednesday because that's when the warehouse was "manned" and an hour later, I called to let them know this isn't what we expected and we'd like to bring it back. We were told to call the next day when the manager was in so he could go over when to return, etc. Called the next day (Thursday) and the manager is telling us they don't accept returns on new items. Not only did their sales associate (Vick?) tell us this prior to us purchasing the washer, but their WEBSITE even says this. Now we have a $1500 washing machine sitting in our garage because this company won't uphold their own policy / which is illegal, by the way. We've been customers for years with them. We've bought a dishwasher, fridge, two washing machines and multiple filters. They've now lost our business. And we will be contacting the BBB as well as a small claims lawyer to see what our options are. I've posted a picture of your very website to show that this is, indeed, your policy. Would not recommend....ever! Bought a speed queen washer about a year and a half ago. 6 months in washer started having issues. They came out several times replacing parts to no avail and recommended I contact speed queen ( Alliance Laundry Systems) , which I did. It's such a long story. At the end of the day neither company stands behind what they sell. Washer is still having issues. One can always go to BBB regarding speed queen. East coast won't replace or gone a refund. I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from East Coast Appliance on Raby Road. They charged me $69.99 for "EXPERT DELIVERY". The delivery men arrived and inform me that they couln't move the old refrigerator because it was still full of food. I had forgotten to remove my food. Luckily my new refrigarator was going into a new location so I could empty the old refrigerator while they installed the new one. I had been ill but I mustered the strength and emptied the old refrigerator in time for them to move it to my garage. When the installers were about to finish one of them showed me that the water hookup did not leak and asked me to sign some papers. By now I just wanted them to leave so I signed the papers and then went to lay down. After a couple hours of rest I went to check my new refrigerator. The refrigerator runs great but I noticed a few things. It had two new dents in the door and the their were three or four gauges in the surrounding wall area. Since my house is being renovated and walls were newly finished an painted I was shocked. The only people who had been in the house is me and thier installers. I also noticed that they left a piece of their moving equipment at my home. I thought they would come back for it. If they came back I could show them the damage they created. After waiting for over a week I realized they are not coming back. I took pictures and visited the store. I talked with manager, Walter C Whansbarger. He acted like too much time had passed. He asked me to send the pictures to him. I sent the pictures with a letter to remind him of what had happened. He called me and said their was nothing he could do. So I am warning you about trusting their "EXPERT DELIVERY." If they can treat a 70 year old cancer patient like this than you need to be very careful in dealing with them. read more

Bought a refrigerator 9 months ago. Top shelf started freezing in fridge (side-by-side fridge/freezer). ECA scheduled repair tech. Repair tech/attempt did nothing. Part ordered. Next appointment after a whole month. Meanwhile, fridge stops working all together. Lost all the food. East Coast Appliance says I have to call the manufacturer. Called them. Manufacturer says they won't replace the fridge, must have service appointment. Another appointment a week later (bought ice for coolers every day) revealed malfunctioning damper in between freezer and fridge (what do you call it when a brand new machine doesn't work right?). Part ordered. Next appointment two weeks out soonest. East Coast Appliance will do nothing. I'm bleeding money buying ice for coolers to keep anything cold. If you need an appliance I would go somewhere else. You might get a good machine from them but if you don't, they might not do anything meaningful to help you even though you gave them a lot of money. I'm sorry I used East Coast Appliance. read more

I purchased a GE laundry center in August 2020 and on the day of delivery, the door handle on dryer came off. This was repaired and that service was great. Shortly after, the front panel of the washer fell off- again service came out. Upon further observation, panel was not aligned and I requested a replacement. East Coast said I needed to contact GE, it was not ECA's problem . After much discussion, they reluctantly replaced the center. The new center is also faulty, and their response is to contact GE. If there was a zero star rating for customer service, I'd give it a zero. They do not stand behind the products they sell, they are difficult to deal with, and I will NEVER do business with them again! This purchase was made in Norfolk, VA store. read more

Buyer Beware! I bought multiple packages from East Coast appliance for investment properties. In February 2020 I purchased a high end Frigidaire kitchen package with a beverage cooler. Rather than sending the beverage cooler they shipped a wine cooler that was larger than the order. I called Jamie Alexander to explain the situation and he assured me he would get the correct one ordered and delivered. I constantly called Jamie looking for the replacement cooler just to hear one excuse after the other as to why it was not there yet. After six months I gave him an alternative product to ship and he guaranteed it would be there in two weeks. After two weeks I could not get him back on the phone. One afternoon he happened to answer the phone when I was calling and I asked him where the cooler was and when was it going to be delivered. Jamie informed me his boss would not allow him to exchange the incorrect product because I had had it too long, though I had been trying to get it replaced for six months. I purchased a Serta iComfort Blue Max 1000 Plush Mattress from East Coast that began to sink in the middle after 3 months. I contacted East Coast and was told to contact Serta as it was under warranty. I called Serta customer service and was instructed to email a picture of tags on bedding. I searched and even unzipped mattress cover and could not locate tags. I then looked thoroughly at all paper work that was handed to me by delivery guys and the mattress tags that by Law are not to be removed are tucked in a pocket. My husband and I are relatively small, so no way should brand new mattress be sinking. Serta emailed me back saying mattress is not covered with warranty because it came from East Coast, but Rodney Jones, the salesperson told and gave me a warranty card. I again talked to East Coast and was told to give them a day or two to find out what could be done. I received a call saying Sorry, nothing they could do. I have paid in full for a mattress that my husband and I are hanging on the edge trying not to roll in the middle. Not to mention back pain, lack of sleep and restless nights of tossing and turning. If I could give a negative star that wouldn't even make up for being ripped off and totally lied too. I'm shocked at Serta not standing behind their product and I'm not sure if I even purchased a new bed or was given a Returned Mattress or Floor model that everyone has laid across. That seems to be Only Reason to tear Off Tags. All I received is an apology from Store Manager saying nothing he could do. Also, all those wonderful reviews about this model mattress makes me wonder if those are actual Real Reviews!!
