Dr Purcell did amazing work on my shoulder, and his staff has gone way beyond what is required of them. I had problems with other places, imaging, labs, things like that, and they were so quick to get on the phone and fix all those problems even though it wasn't their fault, just to make sure i was taken care of. They even delivered to my house, a pneumatic cryo shoulder brace, because they thought it would help with my pain and recovery. To my house, they personally brought it to my house and showed me how to use it! Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing Doctor and his outstanding staff for any orthopedic needs you may require. I am beyond happy and pleased by my experience.

Dr. Hatfield did a full knee replacement on me a few years back and he was fantastic. I loved that he was honest and upfront about what to expect--so many doctors sugar coat things (i.e. severe pain is not the same thing as "discomfort"). I healed up beautifully and went on my merry way. Now that my other knee is acting up, I'm back. I have full faith in Dr Hatfield's advice and care. He is not the doctor who insists you have a consultation first then sends you for X-rays then had you come back again for treatment. He had me get X-rays first then come in one time. He looked at them, diagnosed, and gave me my cortisone shot all in one quick visit. No nonsense! His staff is also very kind, knowledgeable, and caring.

While my Physical Therapist was personally very kind and attentive, I would only work with her for about 10-15 minutes per session and was then passed on to the assistants who were NOT attentive. They would give me my exercises to complete but rather than staying and ensuring I was doing them correctly would run to another patient and work with them, and then I would be sitting there for several minutes inbetween exercises waiting for the assistant to come back. I came three weeks in a row and every week was like this-the facility just seemed like they had too many patients scheduled at once and not enough employees to properly take care of all the patients. As someone who has done physical therapy at several facilities over the years I was disappointed in my care and would not recommend coming here. I gave it a two because I liked my physical therapist but if it wasn't for her I would give this facility a one.

After getting two treatments from another PT place, I was referred by a friend to Matt at Foothills and I'm extremely grateful Matt squeezed me in to help me with my shoulder injury, doctors wanted to do surgery but Matt suggested PT along with dry needles/deep tissue massage and it's worked out AMAZING. Talk about night and day difference between PT places, I'd definitely return if I had another injury. The care here from Matt and others is top notch. The facility is clean and orderly, up to date machines and every kind of item needed for exercises for any injury. The tech was always working with multiple patients at a time. Another time, I was doing my exercise and I looked over and the tech was getting work done on herself by another therapist. Do yourself a favor and google search for a therapist who works on one patient at a time. And the front office staff is rude and inefficient.

Then it took the doctor another 40 minutes after my appointment time to see me. He hadn't looked over any of the test results I'd been asked to provide ahead of time. He joked throughout my whole appointment, I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable going under the knife with him. When it came time to check out the front desk, girl was nowhere to be found. I was told she would follow up with a lab order, but she never did. I ended up seeing another doctor who was punctual and professional.

Furthermore, they dont want to immediately jump to surgery either as surgery may not fix it and may incur other issues. Calm down and trust the process, people. With that said, this is for the Porter/Shorter crew concerning my knee. Had ACL surgery long ago by another doctor which has generally done well. However I do get pain in same knee if I run. So I was fully prepared to go in and be told that my knee surgery 15yrs ago didnt quite fix it. But it turns out maybe I just have arthritis. Can't see me for at least ten days and that's in the middle of a period where I will be out of town. What's the point of giving me a Card and saying to call them and they will get me in right away. Quite possibly one of the worst bait-and-switch experiences I've ever been a part of. I confirmed…read morewith the office that my procedure would be "covered," and they even framed a "test" injection as an easy next step--while admitting they weren't sure it would help--because, again, "it's covered." Afterward, my insurance paid $23. Then the clinic billed me $800. When I went back to ask them to honor what I was told--or at least work with me on price given their guidance--they refused. I asked about a self-pay option; they said no because my insurance had already paid $23. No flexibility, no ownership, no accountability. From my perspective, this is the definition of a bait-and-switch: reassure the patient about coverage to green-light the visit, deliver a token insurance payment, then dump the real cost on the patient and refuse to make it right. I left feeling misled and out hundreds of dollars for a "test" they weren't confident would help in the first place. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this practice to anyone. If you do go, get every "coverage" assurance in writing, ask for CPT codes up front, and verify directly with your insurer--because the verbal promises I received were worthless. I won't be back.

He ended up having to drain fluid off and let me know exactly what to expect, why the fluid was there, what it should look like- everything. Very very thorough. Great experience. Could not ask for a better experience. AND... My knee is so much better - as quickly as the very next day. Note: when I went in for a 2nd appt, it was cancelled without my knowledge and the receptionist was very rude about it. In short, the dr is wonderful, if you get a chance to see him.. I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 due to the receptionist and the inconvenience of not being seen after I had an appointment
