Went here with a friend, were greeted and chose a booth to be more comfortable so we could chat a spell. We got our coffee promptly while pursuing the menu. My friend chose the omelette while I decided on a couple eggs, home fries and sausage which we received promptly. Everything was good, and we left stuffed. The waitress was great. The only thing that bothers us is how they nickel and dime you, or dollars you if you want something different added or switched. Not classy.. it didn't affect us because we ordered as it. Not sure if they also charge for salt, pepper or sugar but perhaps that's next. read more

I was sooo dang hungry after i got my blood drawed and i went to this place right in the clinic. First off they chef was like impervious to me. I was standing there and he act like he dont even see me. I ain't big but light dont shine through me, you feel? Like whats his job if it aint takin my order? But no. I was ignored. I've been to a lot of restaurants but never have i been somewhere that had such bad service. When i arrived, there was already people there complaining about service times. I was not greeted at all just told to choose a table. When I did there was no menus at all. I waited 15 minutes patiently, but not a single employee even glanced at our table. Meanwhile they served and greeted every other customer that arrived after me and my girlfriend. I don't know how the food was because we left after 20 minutes of being ignored and not even acknowledged. I will not be coming here again. read more

Decided to give this place another try since it was under new management. Feels unwelcoming when you walk in. No greeting, apparently you still have to seat yourself (after standing around for a bit and figuring it out yourself). Sat around for 3 minutes before anyone said hello (just in time because we were about to walk out). After we finally were greeted, the staff seemed pretty nice, definitely a huge change compared to before. Table was dirty and menus were sticky. Asked to have it wiped down. The food is the same as it was before, bland but fairly decent price point. Not worth the money when you can do a better job cooking yourself. read more

I've been here once before and to be honest, the visit doesn't really stick out. Saw the previous review and thought, Why not try it again. For those not familiar with the area., it is hidden in the plaza behind the Friendly's on East Main St. We walked in and the first thing that hit me was that it was surprisingly bigger then I remembered. As soon as you walk in there is a little table with crayons and coloring books to keep the little ones occupied. The food was great. I had a "Hungryman Breakfast" consisting of three eggs, home fries and toast (three slices) all for only $5.75. The service was not so great. Our server seemed to be in a bad mood and it showed. The place was pretty packed when we got there so I don't have a problem with a little wait for our meal. She never came back to check on us except to leave us the bill as we were finishing up. Three stars for the food, no stars for the service. In spite of this, I'd be inclined to stop back again and give them another shot as the meal is well worth returning for. read more

While working on a project with my boss in the Douglas area we stopped at this spot per his suggestion. Let me tell you, you won't find a better, fresher, and most welcoming and polite staff in the area. The atmosphere reminds me of being in someone kitchen at home for some nice cozy home cookin'. The home fries are fresh cut and fried (really good), bacon is precooked, but made fresh... And the coffee has a nice kick to get your day started in the right direction. From CT to MA this place put my local favorite back home to shame :-/ I will definitely come back for a bite in the future. Awesome place drive and check the place out while you're reading this Yelp! I've had breakfast here a few times and every time the food has been just okay but the service has been lacking. Each time I had to finish my meal, wait, then flag someone down to get the check. I don't want to be rushed but I hate feeling forgotten especially in a place that small. The food is cheap but I'd rather pay more for a better breakfast and a better experience. Also if all the tables and booths are all taken (seems common cause its such a small diner) there's a 2' square awkward space to stand and wait by the door for a table. Most people seem to stand there for 30 seconds and then leave; I assume to head to one of the other diners in the area. read more

The owner is extremely rude and his daughter has no idea what she's doing they hired my mom and after the training my mother seen how they ran that business and how bad the lack of communication was she decided to decline the job she called and spoke with the owner Harry about her training pay and she was cursed out and hung up on and now they want to act like she never worked for them and they refuse to pay her I'm all for supporting my towns small businesses but when your not paying your employees and you are talking to them with so much disrespect I will not and nor should any one else support a company or a man that behaves that way read more

I have had more pleasurable experiences at the DMV. For starters when we walked in it took about ten minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us because the waitresses were too busy talking with their obvious regulars. When they did realize we were there it took about another 5 minutes to get our menus. Then 20 minutes after that they honored us by letting us order our food. I got an omelette and home fries and my friend got eggs and French toast. My home fries were hard and tasteless and the waitress who was supposed to bring my friend maple syrup for his French toast seemed to have totally forgot or didn't care to ever bring it. Needless to say we threw 20 bucks on the table and walked out. If you like waiting long periods of time for less than mediocre food this place is just for you! read more

Short of it: Clean, Friendly, Inexpensive, Lots of Parking, Decent selection, Close to highway! More Details: My dad and I were on our way to another family restaurant, and had forgotten that they were closed on Mondays... We still wanted to go out for breakfast together, so I typed 'breakfast' into Google Maps, and East Main popped up as the closest restaurant that was still serving breakfast. I like to try new-to-me places, so we headed over. I also love 'Mom and Pop' shops....or small/local/community cafes and restaurants... they don't always have to be new, or in perfect condition, but clean and kept up is important. This place is small, and seems a little older, but it's charming. They are friendly, and have decent prices. My dad and I enjoyed our breakfast, and everyone was very friendly. I have since taken my husband, and he enjoyed his breakfast as well; he had a breakfast burrito, and it was very tasty. I would recommend this place, if you like places like I do, that have small town charm, good food and decent prices... if you aren't worried about a place being the newest, or fanciest! There is plenty of parking, and it's easy to get to... and near the highway. Turning left out of that parking lot though, is a nightmare, so try going out the small back road, (if you're looking at the cafe from outside, it's to the right!) and turn right, and then right again, and then left at the light to get to the highway. read more

Incompetence at its finest. And i mean that in every sense of the word. The three waitresses working, were under the impression that they were required to stand at the kitchen window or servicing patrons sitting up front at the breakfast bar. After 10 plus minutes of being neglected we were finally greeted and asked what we would like to drink. Still no menus. After another 5 minutes our menus finally came. We attempted to order immediately, and were told to hold on by the waitress. Fast forward a another half hour and the food finally comes. I ordered their cafe special, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 2 French toast and home fries. Eggs were very bland. bacon was dry and old. Sausages were ok. Home fries were hard and undercook. The French toast, I did not try because the waitress decided to forget to bring me syrup. After waiting about 15 minutes, food cold at this point, We decided it wasn't worth any more of our time. This place is so cheap, I have no idea how they are in business. We ended up here bc we were starving on the way home from a road trip and randomly got off the highway in webster on a hot pursuit for breakfast. It was sort of late in the afternoon, so we lucked out when we saw the sign that said breakfast all day, all across the parking lot full of gun shops, porno shops, and other assorted classy establishments. We were the only two in the place that hadn't been born and raised 25 generations deep in Webster...but they treated us kindly just the same. After 15 minutes of sitting there, we received our coffee, 10 minutes after that, they asked if my daughter wanted something to drink.10 minutes after that, they took our order , needless to say, we were there for 1 hr 10 minutes, to eat 2 breakfast sandwiches, order of sausage and bacon, and one egg. The food is delicious; I had the southwestern omelette and my husband had the French toast. Both were very well prepared. We came at the height of the morning breakfast rush, and the two waitresses were swamped, but were working as hard as they could to keep up. I wouldn't even go as far to give this place 1 star but there isn't a lower option. The boss is rude to her employees and the food is made wrong most of the time. The food used to be excellent but now it doesn't matter how you order your food because they will make it whatever way they want to regardless. I've tried many times to give them another chance, maybe it was a busy day or something. But no every time I come here they screw up in one way or another. You wait 25 minutes for an overcooked breakfast sandwich, unflavored and overcooked home fries, just to have your food made wrong. I'm not sure how people can be so ignorant. read more

The prices are low, for sure but the food leaves something to be desired. The bacon was so thin on my last visit that I couldn't even pick it up. It just crumbled when I touched it. The service seems very disorganized. Oh, and if you don't like seeing people who ordered 20 minutes after you get their food before you, you'll probably be dissatisfied.
