I did not have a pleasant experience at this hotel first it was very noisy from the construction across the street and some strange drone noise all night. Also while I was in the room a man from the hotel staff opened my door without even ringing the bell . I was very taken back and did not feel safe and then every minute one of them kept comming to my door to ask me if I needed more soda or something I felt I had to answer it or they would just walk in. Finally I was ready to eat wanted yo wait for room service to come first so I would not be interrupted no one came so at 6:25 I started to eat well the door rang it was room service. If you like high tech and very Miami, this is the place for you. It's a scavenger hunt to find light switches and the coffee maker and forget it if you need a bathmat. They just don't automatically give you one. Operating the elevator is a serious game game of Clue. It's so high tech that you can't change floors mid rise or mid descent. You gotta go where you're going and forget changing your mind. There aren't any buttons in the actual elevator. And as far as bath, towels and linens go, they are substandard. Hampton Inns have better quality including the mattress. The ones here at East are lumpy and I think there might be a plastic cover underneath the sheet. read more

EAST Miami. Perfect location for everything Brickell and DT. Connected to the Brickell Shopping mall but ended up not being as convenient since they lock the mall entrance early and keep it locked late into the AM. While the floors are solid, sound comes through the walls and balcony fairly easy. I didn't have any neighbor problems but I did hear them in the AM. People with loud cars love to drive next to the hotel or honk horns through 4am. The sound travels right to your room unless you face north. A MIA Metro Mover station is literally next to the hotel so from the airport you can use the train ($2.25 one way) to Government Center, transfer to the Brickell loop mover, (free) and get dropped off almost at the doorstep. (From the airport, take the Metro Train one stop, get out, and take a southbound train to Gov Center. Get out and find the Brickell or "Finance District" MIA mover. You could also take the train to the Brickell station, but the walk is longer.) The MIA mover station was incredibly helpful and eliminated the need for Uber or renting scooters around the city. Based on other reviews, you dont want to mess with the Valet, and I avoided all that mess. No thanks. The pool was not as nice as the pictures. The room was nice and new, esp the shower and balcony. The bed lacked sheets which made it too hot or too cold. Elevators are button free. You scan your card and it tells you which elevator to get on. The hotel gets crowded on the weekends because of the Sugar lounge. It would be nice if they provided a dedicated entrance or method to hotel guests rather than make us fend for ourselves. Overall it's not bad. I would pick another hotel next time but I wouldn't rule out staying here again if I found a good deal. read more

EAST is cute, but that is pretty much it. Upon arrival to the hotel we checked in and went straight to the pool. The service left a lot to be desired. The staff was dismissive to more than one of the friends I was travelling with at the time. Our two bedroom suite had one bathroom that leaked so badly we had to constantly lay towels down all the way out into the kitchen area. The room was only cleaned after we called and asked (after 4pm and pre-COVID) then we had to awkwardly stand out of the way when they came into our room. This is a cutesy place that looks good in photos, but let me down big time on the hospitality end. For the same price, there are other hotels in Brickell that will actually appreciate your business. read more

This hotel is phenomenal! Staycated here 4 days and 3 nights and was extremely pleased. It reminded me of the hotels we've stayed in Europe that are all digital, artistic and very different from your average Marriott or Hilton. Location is a huge deciding factor in hotel stays and East Miami is prime location. Once Brickell City Centre gets built up, the area will be popping. For now, you're a cheap uber ride away from Wynwood, the beaches and Coconut Grove- all of which we ventured to during our stay. Brickell in general also has tons of nightlife so the area itself has options. Hotel is designed with a "smart" elevator- floor is pressed by the lobbyman where you're asked to proceed to a specific elevator. Once in, it transports you directly. Elevator inside: an infinity mirror which means mandatory selfie #plusplus! Rooms are spacious and state of the art- everything is touch screen- and our view was floor to ceiling and amazing. We experienced wonderful service and took advantage all of the amenities the hotel offers including access to the rooftop bar Sugar, breakfast and dinner at the Uruguayan restaurant Quinta La Huella, pool and even the gym facilities. Every area is unique in architecture and decor and every view is scenic even with all its construction. I'd stay here again with no hesitation. read more

For now (10/3/20) due to Covid, the bars & restaurants in Miami including the ones at the hotel close at 11p. But don't let that rain on your parade, day drink and you'll be done by 11p anyways ;-) We are all in pivotal times right now so adjust your schedule accordingly, appreciate going to sleep early, and repeat the next day!! We stayed here for 5 nights a year and a half ago when we flew in for a wedding. By far one of the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed in. Rooms were small but well done, ours had a balcony which was really cool to sit in and check out the amazing Miami view. Just a short walk to the mall, movie theater and a ton of restaurants. The restaurant on site was delicious and very Miami. I'll probably never get the chance to stay here again because of its outrageous pricing but so glad I got the chance too. The only thing I thought was not well done and needed a face lift was the pool. Super tiny, nothing special area. If I was going to pay $700+ a night on a hotel I'd expect more from this area. We were there in November so didn't spend much time at the pool. There's a really cool roof top bar, and another patio bar where we had cocktails. Really cool place! read more

As a preface, I am a student doctor who has been training during this pandemic. I have been at home or in the hospital, save for a handful of necessary errands, since March. I continue to take precautions, which is why I booked a hotel room by myself when I needed a relaxing weekend rather than going to restaurants or going to a spa. I have emailed East management to discuss the issues behind my 1 star rating but have not heard back, it has been one week. So I'll share here: I stayed at East Hotel Miami in room 2715, then in room 3302, from Saturday, October 10, 2020 through Monday, October 12, 2020. I would like to discuss the negative experience I had in hopes of finding a resolution. I checked in around 10:45pm Saturday night after making my reservation via the hotel's reservations line. I had also visited the hotel website, where I found a price discrepancy that I hoped to discuss with the front desk agent, whose name I do not recall. I took a screenshot at 10:15pm that same day for that purpose. I wanted nothing more than an explanation for my own knowledge. At check-in I asked about the different prices, to which the agent replied, "I just checked the rates, those are the rates for tonight. Maybe you didn't look at the fees." He was dismissive, did not bother to look at my phone or offer further explanation and instead offered free breakfast, which I declined as I am trying to take all possible precautions during this pandemic. The night of Saturday, October 10, I stayed in room 2715. Around 8:45am the morning of Sunday, October 11, I woke to the sound of water leaking from the ceiling into the bathroom. I have attached a video for reference. I attempted to use the bedside phone to call the front desk, but it did not work. I called using my cell phone (picture attached), and maintenance was quickly sent up to address the issue. Another serviceperson arrived soon thereafter, suggesting this issue would not be a quick fix. At this point I again called the front desk to ask to be transferred to another room, and a new set of room keys to 3302 was brought to me shortly thereafter. The room was not an upgrade, I don't recall any apology, but I was more concerned with resting at the time. However I don't think this is befitting of a four star hotel, especially when the tourism, hospitality and service industries have been struggling due to Covid. Point being, had things been done differently EAST Miami would have become my go-to for a staycation. The morning of Monday, October 12, I called the front desk and spoke with the manager-on-duty, Sean, hoping to address the aforementioned issues. He offered free breakfast, which I again declined, and said because the incident had already passed there was not much else he could do in the system and he would need to speak with his director and call me back. When we spoke again, he said he had credited my account $100 and would leave his card at the desk when I checked out so I could contact him when I next stayed there in order to get discounts or upgrades. However, I do not intend to return. I booked this short stay after months of working in the hospital during the pandemic with the intention of having a peaceful, relaxing weekend at a nice hotel within walking distance of my home. Unfortunately, my stay at East did not fulfill those expectations. I was inadequately compensated for the above issues. I believe, at minimum, all charges from the first night of my stay should be refunded. It is disappointing I have had to escalate this issue in the first place. This place is awesome! You select where you want to go on a screen built into the wall and then it tells you which elevator to go into and then it takes you there, NO BUTTONS. There is also an infinity wall inside the elevator. The parking is valet only and costs $55 for overnight. The balcony is very nice with comfortable chairs and flooring. The room has a kind of musky smell but in a good way haha I enjoyed it. The bathroom has a waterfall head from the ceiling and is nicely sectioned off from the main bathroom and toilet. Beware if you get a two bedroom because the beds are very very close together almost like one bed. There was a little booth spot in my room with a table and nice lightning to work and eat on, as well as a tablet and a touchpad to turn on and off all the lights and request any room service as needed. The worst hotel ever! Disregarding The fact that you can't poop or pee in private because there is no privacy in the bathroom and basically the bathroom is in your bedroom. Let's just put that aside for now. The issue with the hotel is the fact that the employees are rude and disrespectful and inconsiderate. I was at this hotel for a wedding day and was denied access to the rooftop bar because the rooftop bar was at "full capacity". They wouldn't let anybody in the wedding party in it didn't matter how much money we spent ($200,000) it didn't matter how many people were there, And also didn't matter that my cousin was standing there in her wedding dress. We were denied access, service, and accommodations. I would never give this hotel any more of my money or time nor would I recommend it to anybody ever. I've never seen such disrespect in my entire life. Coward security guards, inconsiderate management. This hotel is a big NO. Don't waste you're time or money. However, the room was nice and the location is convenient and you could walk to everything. I only gave 3 stars because I waited 3 hours for ice. Just picture this : 39th floor of a hotel, a ballroom, surrounding by wall to wall glass, time of day: sunset, a beautiful bride and groom dancing their first romantic dance as husband and wife, behind them, a spectacular view of the brickell area. In the distance, the sunset, blue skies, fluffy clouds God's art against the concrete, steel and glass structures that paint the Miami skyline. This has got to be the most perfect place for a wedding. That's why I was there! It was my first time! Even the bathrooms, which creatively accommodate both men and women (I thought I was in the wrong bathroom, but no) even the views in the bathroom are epic! I took photographs but don't think they will do justice to the real life experience. So we also discovered they have a roof top bar and garden , with music, and the same spectacular panoramic outdoor views. From there, a multitude of colored lights illuminate Miami. My husband and I reserved a room block at EAST for our wedding, and we were truly excited for the opportunity to share EAST's beautiful property and amenities with our most special friends and family. Our overall experience was unprofessional and disorganized with apathetic customer service. Here's why: 1.Event manager was nowhere to be found when our event (rehearsal dinner) was supposed to begin, and it was raining on our outdoor event setup. We called her multiple times and left her multiple voicemails. When our guests arrived on the pool level, there was nobody that could tell us anything about our event. We just saw people cleaning off tables and taking things to what appeared to be their staff backroom. We were panicking not knowing where our food was going to be served or even offered. The event manager's overall demeanor and customer service throughout the planning process was apathetic. After about 20 minutes of trying to find someone, we found Juan who was unaware of many details of our event, however; he and his staff did an incredible job of adjusting and accommodating to make up for the lack of information from the event manager. Better communication is crucial when hosting events at a site, especially for the price here. 2. Event manager informed us THE DAY BEFORE our wedding that we are unable to take any pictures on site on our wedding day. As a result, we had to change our entire itinerary leading up to our wedding. We had planned to do our first look on site and take a few bridal party and family photos before heading to the venue. Event manager did not give any options or accommodations to myself or our planner, and strictly said this is not allowed. Our planner has had many of her couples stay at EAST, and she said she has never heard of this. 3. As a result of having to change our itinerary for our wedding day, our planner revised that I would drive to the venue with our planner (utilizing EAST valet services) following the shuttle that would take the groom, bridal party, and families. There were major issues with the valet; our planner and I waited outside over 25 minutes for our planner's car. Our photographer and videographer waited around or over an hour to get their cars from the valet missing our first look and time allotted for family and bridal pictures. Our vendors were unable to provide an hour of services that we paid for directly because of EAST Hotel Valet. Valet responded to our photographer's plea to show some urgency as she is missing the wedding, and was met with: "we're busy, there's nothing we can do." Couples should be compensated for services that their vendors are unable to provide due to poor service. Upon hearing our photographer had the same issue with EAST valet two weeks after our wedding, I feel obligated to warn other couples! 4. Many of our guests had major issues with their key cards; several guests had to go to the front desk multiple times a day because they could not get into their rooms. My father was locked out of his room for 45 minutes on our wedding day, and asked to return from the wedding to move his belongings because they couldn't get his room door to lock. After many failed requests for my dad to miss my wedding and my dad getting frustrated, they finally offered to move his belongings. We directly expressed our concerns to the Director of Catering and to EAST main email posted on their website approximately two weeks ago, and we have NOT heard back from either party. We had 33+ rooms on our room block, many booking 2 or 3 bedroom suites and hosted our rehearsal dinner on site. Our experience at EAST tainted our wedding weekend and is the sole reason that our photographer and videographer missed the time we allotted for our first look, bridal party pictures, and family pictures on our wedding day. What's more disappointing is the lack of service and overall care for guests and couples that choose to share one of the most special weekend of their lives at EAST Hotel. read more

Our second stay lost a star. Our room had plumbing issues and ants, but they were kind enough to have us switch rooms. It was a bit inconvenient. Also all the menus have changed since our last stay, we were hoping we could have sushi come to the room like last time. There's a rooftop bar that now serves the sushi. They wouldn't allow us to order there and take to the room and made it impossible to eat the food anywhere but the bar. It's still a great hotel with fancy amenities and service. All the toiletries have downgraded since our stay and the towels are far from soft. Room service has an automatic $5 charge and every purchase at hotel has automatic 18% gratuity added so it makes prices hard to see accurately. Water bottles were $10. May try a different hotel next stay. read more

The East is a modern, stylish, upscale hotel directly next to a large shopping center. The rooms are modern and very nice. The bathrooms are very nice, with large walk-in showers. The pool area was was great, with a nice poolside bar. Contrary to the many reviews complaining about the service, I thought the service was very good during out stay in late October 2022. Not quite up to four seasons standards but much better than average, and certainly better than chain hotels like Marriott, Hyatt etc. My only complaint was that housekeeping came very late in the day - around 5:45 pm. read more

They make the best damn team ive seen in a while at any front desk. So professional, so patient, so accommodating they make us feel right at home. There must be a reaaon while we live in miami and we have been here for the last several weekends for staycation. Last times we stayed in the king bed corner unit 3420 wow amazing. This time we wanted to upgrade and WOW we are on the last floor 36 to a one bedroom suite and . Its insane cant ask for more now i can just sit back and enjoy my cocktails on the rooftop lounge. What a beautiful place to stay during a work chat. The hotel has amazing views and great proximity to virtually everything that one could want. It's great things that I can say about sugar, and the amenities however, I haven't really been able to experience the ones that I need. I've been here for two days and have asked for a lint roller twice. I have yet to receive it. The straw that broke the camels back for me is that at 11 o'clock at night I asked the front desk for a slippers and lint roller. Silly me, I've been sitting in my room waiting for 45 minutes after being told it should be 15 to 20, giving them the benefit of the doubt- only to call the front desk to be told "oh, they changed shifts at "11 o'clock and 11:20" as if that was my problem. It's hilarious that I'm here for training when the training needs to be done by the individuals who work here. Service seems dead these days post pandemic‍. after my final attent of getting the lint roller and slippers, I was finally told that we don't offer that service. Why is it that three (3) different individuals led me to believe that I was possibly gonna get it but also was going to get slippers be it flip-flops or slippers. I did not get the slippers until my final attempt to ask for them. And that's when I was told definitively that we do not offer a lint rollers. FINALLY- There's clearly a break down in communication within the team as well as how the team communicates to clients. I feel the team needs training with regards to empathy and active listening. Again, I think the hotel is lovely and aside from the fire alarm, which was out of their control, that awakened us at 1:30 AM or so...my stay was great. read more

Love love loved this hotel!! We stayed in the residences and I highly suggest it- they are huge and gorgeous with full kitchens!! Dishwashers, all of the necessary utensils and a gigantic fridge! The staff was great and the views were gorgeous. Excellent location as well, (you're legit right in brickell city center) and gorgeous gym with all of these brand new machines. East is very modern, appears to be new, and is in a prime location of downtown Brickell. However, I was not impressed the service (poolside, in particular). My friends and I stayed in a 2BR suite and the shower in one of the bathrooms leaked onto the floor all the way into the kitchen every time someone took a shower. Room service didn't come to clean up until very late into the day (after 4PM) so we found ourselves returning to a dirty room after a day at the pool. Just wasn't the type of experience we wanted, for the price. There is a lot of competition in the Brickell area and I think you could get a better bang for your buck elsewhere. read more

If I was talking about the coffee that Karla and Iris make at Domain, the review would be 5 stars but my main focus here is the fact that I vomited right outside the women's bathroom today because the hotel refuses to grant anyone aside from hotel guests access. I eat and drink coffee 2-3 times a week at Domain, and many times now I've had to leave just so I can go and pee elsewhere. I'm 6 months pregnant and today was an emergency and still my need wasn't enough. I just feel badly for the house keeping staff who had to clean up my mess right in front of the bathroom... The Hotel is certainly beautiful but the staff definitely needs some hospitality training. Ounce I check in no Bell man was anywhere ,not even a luggage cart was available.The choices for eating were very limited .No magazines or city literature is around the rooms . Even though staff wear masks at all time , hand sanitizers were hard to find.
