We arrived with a referral and updated X-rays that had been completed shortly before our visit, yet there was confusion regarding the treatment plan and my son was taken for additional X-rays. This immediately raised concerns about communication and coordination. From the moment we walked in, the environment felt unwelcoming. One staff member repeatedly stared at us in a way that felt judgmental, and at multiple points, staff were whispering to each other while looking in our direction. My son, who was already in pain, became uncomfortable enough to ask if we should leave. Also, we witnessed inappropriate interactions between employees, while we were filling out paperwork. A male employee came out and began rubbing the shoulders of his female colleagues and patting their backs, as he walked by expressing going to grab pizza for the office. As for the $412 fee, it was not clearly explained, despite us having insurance and providing all necessary information. For context, we are a military family used to dealing with DOD and VA facilities, where payment processing is different. I explained that this was an emergency and that I needed a moment to figure out the financial portion. Instead of working with us, I was told, "you should always prepare to have to pay for things when you go places," which was both unprofessional and lacking empathy. While I stepped away briefly to figure out next steps, my son was brought back into the lobby and told that I needed to speak with him, which was not accurate. When we attempted to clarify the situation, the staff member closed the door without explanation. When I asked what was going on, I was again asked how I would be paying. We ultimately left without treatment, with my son still in pain and feeling embarrassed and confused. To make matters worse, we were not given any documentation or visit summary, and I had to request our referral back before leaving. No patient--especially one in pain--should leave a healthcare office feeling judged, confused, and untreated during an emergency. Dr. Mauricio Chavarriaga is AMAZING. My dentist found an infection above my canine/eye tooth, and it failed the sensitivity test, and she recommended getting seen by Dr. Chavarriaga for a potential root canal. I went for a referral appt and evaluation and the office staff along with the medical team was very kind and patient. When I told Dr. C that I have major anxiety when it comes to dental work, he assured me that I felt nothing and would be relaxed. He did xrays and a ct scan to ensure what my dentist referred me for was what I needed. After the schedule procedure he called me from his personal cell that night to check on me, even medical doctors don't do that. If I or anyone in my family are ever in need of an Endodontist I would definetly return and recommend him. read more

This is not a true healthcare provider. I got violently ill after my root canal. I reported it to them, but I was not notified that it had been reported as an adverse event. My dentist told me they were in network. They told me they were in network, they were not, and it took 7 months to resolve, and I had to do all the work because they wouldn't. It was my problem according to them. I will not be going back there and I will not recommend them to people within my network. read more

I previously had a root canal procedure with Dr. Chavarriaga and it was a pain free, top-notch experience. I had no idea at the time I would end up needing 3 years later a DOUBLE molar root canal, one that by time of diagnosis had progressed alongside a serious, drug-resistant abscess due to constant use of antibiotics for a stubborn ear infection. I share this to illustrate my condition was not a run-of-the-mill scenario but one with possible complications given how bad things had gotten. I learned during the process I would need SIX (6!) canals cleared (3 each molar) instead of just the standard one--but Dr. C's willingness & confidence in tackling this challenge really put my mind at ease. What was astounding was how he was able to do such a complex procedure in just around an hour. It was so much faster than I expected, and he and his assistant still managed to check in with me every step of the way to ensure I was not in any discomfort. If you need a root canal--especially if you have a serious or complicated situation you're scared of--I literally cannot recommend this doctor enough. If he were a video game character, his skill level would be 1000: Final Level Boss. Recently had a filling but slowly accrued pain over a period of two months. Finally it go to the point where couldn't eat or drink and throbbing pain while laying down. Went to my dentist which in turn referred me here. Called ahead and thankful they could take me ASAP. Just being in a rush and in the moment of agony wanted to make sure where I was it was a credible office. Just a quick Google and Facebook review saw 5 stars too good to be true? Check in was fast for insurance and paper work squared away. The assistant was pleasant and the doctor came in and was very thorough. I was impressed with the communication and due diligence before, during and after. Took multiple x-rays. And quick debrief after it was all said and done. DR. C reassured he would follow up later that night. To my surprise he called from his cell to make sure all was good and let me know I call him of anything arises. I was blown away!!! First visit in the books, unfortunately had a second visit for a second root canal. Same process this time it took a little longer I'm assuming there was there was a complication with another patient. But on the way out they provided a Star bucks gift card. Again I was blown away! They pride themselves in the "golden rule" Treat others how you would want to be treated and I would say they definitely have. Again Dr. Chavarriaga called to follow up after the operation. Definitely appreciated. Only issue so far was having the office forward my information to a new dentist I elected to go to. Will update this once we get this resolved. read more

Nobody likes going to a dentist or dental specialist, but I have to say, this office sets the standard that I wish many other medical practices would follow. First, they greet you at the door, check you in, and offer beverages. It's personal customer service, not sign in and have a seat. When I was taken back to the treatment areas, again, it was personal service, and as a first-time visitor, I was given a bit of a tour with information about the entire office. The doctor explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. Checked repeatedly for any discomfort. And when it was time to check out, it was again, a personal experience and they held the door open for me as I left. It was customer service more akin to a spa or hotel. If the need arises to pay a return visit, I will be much more comfortable knowing the level of attention paid to customer service and medical care. read more

Just moved her from Ft. Lauderdale and needed not one but two root canals. I was referred to Dr Douglas by my new dentist and I must say top notch experience. The office is brand new and beautiful. Latest technology as well. Dr. Douglas was so gentle. Didn't feel the needles at all and no pain during procedures, which made me so happy as I have trauma from past experiences. I had a fistula on one of my molars that was causing me significant worries, so I went to East Orange after being referred by my Dentist. After an initial consultation, I believed that the best option was to get a Re treatment on my root canal, which was well over $1000. After working with the front desk assistant Thalia, I was able to move up my appointment and see about getting the procedure done a little bit earlier to put my mind at ease. The day finally arrives and I make it to the Lake Nona location where I meet with the Dr. Mauricio. After speaking with him about my options, it turns out that the better option wasn't for me to get the Re treatment, but to get the tooth remove entirely. My odds of getting rid of this annoying fistula on my gums went from 50/50, all the way up to around 95% by getting the other procedures done. At the end of the day, Dr. Mauricio chose to tell me to get a procedure that he himself cannot do; placing my best interest above getting my money. It speaks a lot about his integrity, and his commitment to his code of ethics. I fully recommend East Orange for any or consultation, and eventual procedure. read more

Having dental surgery can be a painful and exhausting experience, BUT not with Dr Douglas and the amazing staff at East Orange Endodontics! I was referred to East Orange Endodontics by my dentist and she was adamant that we would have the best results by going to these oral surgeons. My dentist was 100% right (she always is :) and my results are great. After having a severe infection on a molar that had a root canal on 15 years prior, Dr Douglas' pinpointed the issue and did her magic. Her skills, kindness, and professionalism are second to none and her support staff are awesome! From the moment, I walked in through my follow up and beyond, I have felt genuinely cared for. Update: 6.11.2021: Compared to my previous experience for the oral surgery, I am very disappointed. Reception staff at the Lake Underhill location is rude and inconsiderate during follow up appts. Because my infection returned after the root canal, I tried making a follow up appt to be checked again after my permanent filling was applied by my dentist. The woman who took my call was reluctant to schedule another follow up and mentioned that I have been back several times already as if to say they are done doing their part. After reminding her the tooth had an abscess near my sinuses and describing my symptoms as serious, she scheduled me far out, as if this was not an emergency. And when I missed that appt, the rescheduled time was "miscommunicated" and needed to be rescheduled. Whomever told me 2:45pm on the phone, made me miss work, drive all the way over, pay a toll and have no resolution for my symptoms. They did not take accountability for changing the time I was given, and had no concerns for the current status of my symptoms, nor the inconvenience. The whole time, I never heard back from Dr. C about my concerns. I have never been treated so poorly after such a good experience and never expected it from this company. Beware of needing them to follow-up and treat you well when they feel they're done with you. Original: This place is amazing! The office is aesthetically pleasing, very luxurious vibe with liquid refreshments offered, and very welcoming bilingual staff. They really listen to your concerns and make you feel at home. I was very nervous about having to see an Endodontist. From the first phone call to the final walk out the door the staff treated me with kindness and made my experience as comfortable as possible. From a friendly smile to a tv in the dentist chair, the office is very calming and relaxing. Dr. chavarriaga explained everything to me before , during and after treatment. I was always under the impression that a root canal was going to be uncomfortable to say the least. The procedure was painless and the best part no more toothache. I was referred to Dr chavarriaga after having severe sensitivity in my tooth. My dentist thought it could be my root canal tooth which would've cost me over $1000 to fix. Honestly the second I heard "you have to have a root canal," I panicked. I was told by my dentist that this Endodontist was excellent and the patients never feel a thing. Obviously I didn't believe him because that's what they all say. But boy was I wrong. Very disappointed with the x-ray "specialist" work, it was quite poor. More than 5 unclear, unaccurate and unsuccessful x-ray shots to finally get the Endodontist recommending additional "3D CTScan" which will cost $481 for probably later say that's nothing wrong. East Orange Endodontics is a wonderful office! I was referred to them by my dentist and from the second I walked in, I was so thankful for it. The ladies up front were so kind and patient. As soon as I was done with my forms (I got there a little earlier so I could get them done before my appointment time), I think I waited maybe 5 minutes and they walked me in. From there, everything moved pretty quickly. Dr. Chavarriaga was in there after about 5-10 minutes once the X-Rays were done. He told me I would need a root canal. From what I've heard, root canals can be really bad. However, that was not the case. When I went back, I had the same experience. I checked in, and waited maybe 2 minutes before they took me back. Everything moved quickly and easily, which was good because I was nervous. The procedure seemed to move quickly compared to what I thought it would be and they did everything they could to make sure I experienced as little discomfort as possible. They constantly checked on me to make sure I was doing okay and it made me feel so at ease. As I left. the doctor said he would give me a call later to check on me. I didn't really expect him to, or I at least thought one of the nurses from the office would give me a call (which would have been just fine). However, Dr. Chavarriaga called me himself later that night to check in and make sure everything was okay. I couldn't believe it! I wish I could make him my regular dentist, because this office was amazing! I've never felt so welcomed and comforted. Thank you East Orange Endodontics for making a root canal not so bad!
