I think something happened before. Regardless, I don't have a dog and it doesn't affect me. What matters is the ice cream. They get the milk from Guernsey cows which you can visit at certain times. The milk is super creamy. As a result, the ice cream is thicker and creamier than others. I like their creamy flavor if you like plain. They circulate flavors and recently tried their strawberry which has chunks of strawberry and has a nice flavor profile. They are right off the road so easy access. They have picnic benches all around and a playground for kids. Certain times in Spring/Summer, there's a flower field to look at. The service is good. Never had problems. The inside is rustic and simple. The main thing is to get the ice cream which is worth it in my opinion. It is a farther drive for me, but the quality doesn't compare. We had tried a lot of places near by and we still find this one as the superior one.

They had open pet chicken barbecue and pulled pork. Also, they are giving out free donuts (glazed or powdered cream) and lemonade. My hubby wanted me to get him a powdered cream donut so he was disappointed when I brought it home and there was no cream filling. Fortunately, the coconut custard doughnut that I purchased was amazing. They did not skimp on the coconut or the custard for mine. Since my husband did not have any cream in his, I took some out of my doughnut, and it was still plentiful. I also got us two chicken halves, and a medium size of the Amish macaroni salad. I purchased a medium of the crustless chicken pot pie for myself. We both loved our chicken. It reminded us of the smoked chicken at Smoky Glen Farm. He thought the macaroni salad was sweet for his liking but since I have a sweet tooth, I loved it. I gave him a bite to try the chicken pot pie and it reminded him more of a chicken dumpling. Do you know what that meant!? It means they had already started picking them and I was late! Again! I remembered to look again today and it said it was open but it might not last all day and they highly doubt there would be peaches available to pick for Saturday or Sunday. The website noted the late freeze in April didn't give them a great harvest this year. That meant RUN RUN RUN ‍ so that's exactly what I did. Although I missed two exits getting there SMH, I pulled up, changed my shoes, and opened my trunk to grab my little red wagon. To my dismay, it was not there! I could not believe it because how was I going to haul all my peachesand by myself?! I quickly called my mama and she told me she indeed still had its. I was heartbroken because I was already by myself and no one could come such last minute but now I have to somehow carry the heavy peaches through the field and the hot sun. I looked around and saw wheelbarrows but already knew they would be way too heavy for me to pull around the field so I quickly emptied a reusable bag for my box to go in, and headed to the stand. This year you have to purchase a entry band for everyone that is within the field. That $3 goes towards the farm and whatever they need. Years prior, container size you purchased dictated how many people could go into the field to cleft l collect for that box. Bigger box, more people. I noticed a sign stating I couldn't bring a tote bag in the field and the gentleman explained he would have to check it on the way out. I didn't really care about that and explained to him how I left my wagon and he offered for me to use one of their wheelbarrows. I declined at first because I knew it was going to be too heavy for me to haul around and I instantly had flashbacks of back in the day trying to move that thing. I decided to walk over and see how heavy it was. Guess what!? These wheelbarrows are so lightweight! They're not even made of steel LOL I was so happy and quickly grabed the wheelbarrow, put my box in along with my things, and headed into the field after paying. The smell of peaches fermenting has got to be one of my all-time favorites! It was a warm day today so I definitely took my time and tried to find shade as I picked my peaches. My box quickly filled up so I grabbed one, munched on it and then left after taking some video. What a quick visit. I knew my next stop was to grab my favorite peach butter so I headed to the store. They have less products this year and I wondered how our current climate has been impacting other farms which helps supply their store. They have a few different varieties of mushrooms all boxed for 10 bucks to include lion's mane, porcini, yellow trumpets and others. I made my way around the perimeter of the store and saw some of the usuals like beef jerky, beeswax candles, kraut, cheeses, milk and such. When I got to my favorite spot with my peach butter, there was none! The whole top shelf was empty! This has happened to me before and I had to come back. Hopefully I'll be able to grab some at a later date but if you go grab me a jar lol. I then started looking for to Taharka's ice cream and noticed a deep freezer with a sign indicating the ice cream was inside. I decided not to grab any because I wasn't too sure if I was headed straight home or not. The last time I had to eat both pints so that they didn't melt in my car . . . . . I can't wait for my next adventure at Larriland. The fall will be a great time to visit as well. I'd say it's better suited for the toddler or younger age. My six year old twins enjoyed their time, but it was fairly limited with activities. We bought fall festival tickets in advance and wish we didn't since some of the activities weren't open since it was too early in the season. We also were expecting the fruit and vegetable picking would have been included with our tickets, but they weren't. The market on site was great with a wide range of vegetables, fruits, and pastries. Everything was fresh and we bought way more than we would have normally! We went on the hay ride, which was enjoyable but again more geared towards the little ones as it passes by Disney characters made out of paper mache. After the hay ride, they had a "boo barn" which was a walk through haunted house, which was more like light up goblins in 2 rooms. That was the other item, besides the hay ride, that was included in the $14 dollar ticket for each of us. We didn't think that was really worth the price of over $50. We'd recommend skipping the fall festival tickets. Instead, the real value and fun was the fruit and vegetable picking. We picked raspberries and tomatoes. It was fun! Our advice: skip advance tickets and just do the picking. It was a nice 2 hour detour but not a full day activity like so many other farms nearby.

There's a vendor selling baked Amish goods. It's a true farmers market selling items rather than grab-and-go food. Keep that in mind if you expect to get breakfast here. There isn't a stand for that and no coffee truck/vendor. Vendors take credit card.

So each to recycle, why not add some? I will suggest it to the organizers. There weren't many shaded places to sit and eat, so it would have been nice to have some popup tents and benches, but I know, I know: who's gonna pay for that? I tried a cupcake from a local baker and a smoothie from a food truck, tasted some rum from a spot out in Frederick, had a $4 chai from an Indian food booth, and ordered some empanadas to go.

The store is small and a bit cramped, but we were hit with wonderful aromas on entering- homemade herbal soaps, freshly baked cookies, pies, cobblers and pasta. A refrigerator held a variety of local cheeses, fresh eggs, farm fresh milk and cream, and a freezer held the good stuff- bacon, farm-raised beef, hot dogs, sausages, and jerky. Oh how I love jerky. Children in the market were negotiating for different flavors of frozen custard that looked great. The lovely lady at the counter explained that the owner sends farm-raised meats to the butcher, and that a family pack type order could be placed. The jerky must have been processed by a place in PA per the label- it was fabulous. Thin and dry and perfectly seasoned, I at least got it home and defrosted before I devoured it. I also picked up some summmer sausage- have not tried it yet, but the smell is tantalizing and I'm looking forward to slicing some with some of the horseradish cheddar, some crackers and something to drizzle the honey over- yes, local honey. Wow. I may just eat it out of the jar, it is that good. Not much local produce- there is none yet, but I am looking forward to stopping back by later in the season, with the children- and the camera!.

It was our first time at England Acres and it is absolutely beautiful farmland! We met Judy and Hannah. Hannah took us over to the barn and picked up one of the lamb and let my daughter hold him. My daughter was so excited! We headed back inside and picked up eggs, bacon, lamb, steaks, and chicken. Nothing beats grass farm fresh food that comes from a place that is right down the street and where the animals have been very well taken care of. Don't get me wrong, it's pricey, but it's worth every penny to support a local farm, for the flavor of the food, and for your health!
