And to boot, they do work that no one else would touch. For me, that included a complete rebuild of my 2006 transmission in 2024 in their shop. Yes it was costly but it was not a remanufactured tranny and extended the life of my car. If the engine goes, I'll likely return for an engine rebuild rather than a remanufactured engine. On another day, some basic work that should be simple and easy they seem capable of completely missing the mark. Couple this with their reliance on Metro Motor.com and their BG maintenance recommendations and you have what feels like a very hard sell to get your money. The BG recommendations are like a laundry list of what you MIGHT do to your auto if you had unlimited funds and just wanted to spend freely. There seems to be no rnyme or reason to the recommendations either in milage or elapased time. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind paying premiusm prices (which Ken's is) for premium work. That's the issue. I feel like it's sometimes worth it and other times not. I've reached the consclusion that they will get my more difficult jobs but routine maintenance will be handled elsewhere. I wonder if over time they have changed ownership or have new sales incentives in place. It's a shame. I really want them to be like The Car Talk guys from Boston and only do what's right.

(Ugh! $100 for 0.15 miles!) not related to Churchill. Laurel, Churchill's office manager/service coordinator, was a good communicator and pleasure to deal with. I was glad that they could fix my car quickly on Saturday. Extra points for customer service, quick turnaround, and free 12 month roadside assistance. The only downside is the part seemed expensive -marked up a higher than I was expecting. I was charged $250 for a part that cost $145 (72% markup) when the industry average is 35% markup. Aside from that, it was a good experience for this out-of-towner.

One of the modifications was the installation of an external oil cooler, which is always a good idea, but I think they also installed what hot-rodders call a "shift kit". I wish they hadn't done this. It shifts very hard, particularly 2-3 and 3-4. I'll bet that this thing lasts the 25k warranty, but my motor mounts and CV joints probably won't :( If you use this shop, ask about the pros and cons of any potential modifications they will be performing.

Sunday night, my car wouldn't start. I had it towed to superior on Sunday night and it was there…read morefor them first thing Monday morning. Superior noted on the invoice that the car was dead on arrival. Said they tested the battery and that they were able to start the vehicle with starting fluid after multiple attempts. Well, to me that means there were something wrong with the car battery. They got the car running and charged me $155. They kept the car all day, over seven hours to do the safety maintenance inspection that I didn't ask for. They didn't ask me either. Two days later, the car would not start again. I called superior to let them know and they said that the battery was OK when it was there. The battery was dead in their own words when they checked it. I don't understand why they didn't replace the battery. I was unable to go to work on my new job on Wednesday, I would think that an auto service center would recognize when a battery needs replaced.. I am homeless and sleeping in my car. I have no money to get it towed. Fortunately, somebody helped me in the Walmart parking lot to get the car running so I can drive it to a Walmart service center. If that kind person did not help me, I would've been stuck there. I would not have been able to go to work. I wouldn't had a place to sleep. Anyway, I think they should've changed the battery on Monday when the car was in their shop. I think they should've recognized that since it was dead on Sunday and Monday and it was a really old battery, they should have replaced it. Since they didn't, it was a big hassle for me not going back to Superior auto service again. It said on the invoice that they recommended that I monitor it. That is ridiculous. I'm supposed to just drive the car around and hope that it starts when I get back in. I would have to have an expense of it being towed. Shouldn't they fix the car so you don't get stranded somewhere ? Walmart charged me $150 for the battery and instillation. Superior charged me $155 and didn't fix the car. They just gave me a list of $2000 worth of stuff that needed to be Repaired.
