The last time I remember being a patron at the Guildford Station Pub was at least a decade ago. When my boyfriend and I were looking to have a late lunch before braving the holiday shopping crowds at the nearby Guildford Town Centre, this place came to mind. In between the lunch and dinner rushes (but still too early for happy hour, drat), we found ample free parking in the parking lot. Outside, the pub was exactly as I remembered. Upon stepping inside, wow! The place had clearly undergone an extensive renovation and was now what you would expect from an upscale pub. Upon first glance there was a good mix of high seats, regular seats, and a few booths. We seated ourselves and the friendly waitress came over in due course to ask for drinks to get us started, and take our orders. I appreciated the extensive menu; plenty of choices for appetizers, sandwiches/wraps, entrees, etc. Boyfriend ordered the Falafel Veggie Wrap and I ordered the Station Rice bowl, and was able to go easy on the sauce (bonus points whenever a place can offer minor customization). My rice bowl was piping hot (yum) and they did seem to go easy on the sauce, so the rice at the bottom wasn't swimming in the soy-ginger sauce. Portion size was great given the price, and I thought it was filling without leaving me feeling bloated. What struck us the most were the prices. Our total bill was just shy of $25 (disclosure: we did not order any alcoholic beverages). Looking over the menu, all the prices (sandwiches, wraps, entrees) dirt-cheap in comparison to some of the other pub-like establishments or chain restaurants out there. I usually get my liquor from Guilford Station liquor store. And they have a point system where when you buy the liquor your points get added and later you can and cash those points into money and buy the stuff from Guildford Station pub. I've used this facility3-4 times earlier Where I ordered food and picked it up for my home.but this time when I went to pick up my order which was worth around $50 and they told me I cannot use my points money, which I have done it earlier for a Takeaway purpose and now SuddenlyIt's only for dining. So my receipt which I picked up from the Gulf Station liquor store was a waste. I don't like to sit around stinky people smelling weed all around and doing drugs outside so I prefer to take my food home. The dumb bartender Steve or jason pretended that he is a manager and refused to cancel the order. I was not having my wallet and he threatened me to not let me go if I don't pay the bill. I have paid almost $50 on my pocket after I have points which I can cash and which I have done earlier as well. This is the shittiest service I have ever got from a restaurant. No matter if it is your fault or the liquor store fault to let me know the changed rule, I lost the money. I am not coming back to you guys ever again.. neither for liquor or for food. The food is always good here and the prices are decent. Most of the servers are good, friendly. Unfortunately they do not take reservations Fridays as that is their busiest night. We arrived before 7, put our name in and saw we were not far down the list. We were told the wait would be at least 1/2 hour. Then we saw a group of 11 was waiting before us. They do not have tables for more than 4, so tables need to be put together and cleared that become available next to each other. After an hour we thought surely it would be our turn. We saw 2 tables that were empty next to each other that could be perfect for our group of 6. We then watched as no one cleaned it for over 20 minutes. We asked the 'bouncer' about it, and he said 'I can't tell them how to do their job'. (I guess he's not allowed to help clean tables either?!) There needs to be someone just cleaning tables and bringing water etc to make this place run smoothly. Finally we sat down after waiting over 1.5 hours. Our waitress seemed surprised we wanted to order food right away! Then another hour until the food came as there was a private party and the party of 11 ahead of us jamming up the kitchen. Eating so late is not our usual routine so I was not the happiest but as least we had lots of time to catch up with our friends! Not sure I will return on a Friday, but earlier in the week with 2-4 people is good. Food is Always great though and the prices are good too even for drinks. I told him it was for a 40th birthday. When we arrived with the cake and the decorations we were told we were not allowed to bring them in . How devastating for these two young ladies. They needed to see the receipt because it was a store-bought cake. And then we were told we were not allowed balloons in there. None of this was communicated to me during the reservation booking otherwise, none of this would've happened. And it was not pleasant to have to deal with this the day of the party. Pubs are always fun but this one is extra special. I like it because of its location in the quite residential neighborhood but conveniently accessible from Fraser highway. First of all it's huge. Big capacity on the bar and in the lounge areas . Plenty of car parking outside and all different genre of music to enjoy while eating the most yummy food(in pub category) I might have posted only two pics but I have tried more food here. Always hungry so dive right onto it without taking a picture. These are cauliflowers Tacos for vegetarians but meat tacos are equally good. Loaded nachos is also a must try. Decent neighbourhood pub in, you guessed it, Guildford. Parking is available in the lump and tilted parking lot in front. The pub has a slightly cheesy but cool train station look from the outside. From the inside it looks like any other modern pub. Special mention goes to their outdoor covered patio. Staff were friendly and helpful. The happy hour here has both highballs and sleeves of beer for a very reasonable price, including on weekends. Will be back to try the food one day. read more

We took a walk from Guildford mall by 10mins walk and this place sure looked special to me. They have variety of menu from happy hour, weekly specials and more. We got drumsticks ($6), Calamari ($7) and Baby Back Ribs ($13.95) the prices were definitely reasonable. Calamari was crispy and tasty. Drumsticks weren't tender enough it tasted like frozen drumsticks though. I wish they were more tender and juicy. Baby Back Ribs were small. It was presentable, but not too impressive in taste. Meat was soft as it fell off the bones. They all looked very mouthwatering and presentable in a way when they all came out. Service was fast and friendly. First time eating here. Location is just off main street and never noticed before. The pub has good sitting space inside and out. Service was very polite and punctual. Spacious tall ceiling and decor were inviting. We had the Beef Dip sandwich and Rueben. Both were delicious. Hot Mustard with Rueben was nice and spicy!. Give them extra points for customer service. We ordered some food to go. . On the way home, noticed that they got the order wrong. We called right away (not expecting much). I pretty much grew up with this spot and it's still one my favorite pubs to hit up. Celebrated two birthdays here one ended up fine the other...well it was my 21st enough said. One of the best spots in Surrey I would say if you want a place to catch up with friends and have a drink and the crowd is overall really friendly and it's not super noisy. Their menu has evolved over the years and so has the place, it got some major renos going from one floor to rwo and plenty of TVs to view for sports and fights! I been there a couple of nights where there is live music as well. One night they were giving out free raffle for hockey tickets. Their food is really reasonably price and its pretty good! Deep fried pickles and hot wings are a must. Finger licking good! Each day there's a special so make sure you check out their menu - fridays steak for 12 bucks is one my favs. Tuesday is wing night (try the honey mustard). You do have to order a drink with it but it's a pub so you came to drink right? This place as a hidden amazing dessert called the deep fried strawberry cheesecake (yes it's good as it sounds). It's as much of a heart clog as it sounds! Light batter and the cheesecake is more savory than sweet and comes with some icecream. Tip: Get the special to save money to get the dessert ;). This is my first visit here, so bear in mind this is more of a first impression than a solid review. The dining room is very clean and the furniture is good. This is important - a wonky chair or table is enough to set my teeth on edge. I didn't sit at the bar, but the chairs were new-looking and cushiony. We were there on a Sunday afternoon during the hockey playoffs and the place was absolutely packed. One would expect the service to be a little slow or disorganized, but the service was stellar. Fast and no mistakes, and came back lots of times for refills and "how ya doings". I had the Taco Salad ($11.95) and it was pretty good. It had cucumbers in it, which kind of don't belong in a taco salad, and the tortilla bowl tasted so-so. However, there was a ton of taco beef and a good bit of cheese in the salad. So much so that I ran out of veggies and had plenty of beef to enjoy with the tortilla bowl! Also, I had a big dollop of guacamole that wasn't an extra charge. Nice! All the servings at my table were very generous for a fairly low price, making the place pretty affordable. TVs everywhere! Lots of noise, so don't come for a quiet dinner and conversation! This is definitely a pub in that the conversations are loud and good-natured and everyone seems to enjoying just hanging out. The crowd here is fairly mature, which is excellent for those of us who have had meals or outings ruined by crass twentysomethings. Overall, this is definitely a place I would come back to. I love this place! It is very low-key, the food is decent, and the staff is great. They have a live DJ there that gives away prizes as well which just adds to the fun. I was there very recently for the first time in a few years and it was nice to see that they get in the spirit of the holiday fun... They have a huge Christmas tree placed up there and the DJ was wearing an ugly Christmas sweater, and by ugly I mean it is because it had the logo of the 49ers on it! read more

I have never been in the pub. However they have a terrific liquor store attached. It's the only liquor store within walking distance to where I'm currently living and since I don't have access to my own transportation. The only complaint I have is they don't carry Newcastle Brown Ale, which I've gotten over since most private liquor stores don't carry it. The staff are helpful. read more

Nice place to grab some drinks and watch the game while being able to carry on a conversation because its not overly loud but always busy. Service is quick and friendly and decent amount of parking. This place is great. It's a unique set-up and there always seems to be something going on so it's a fun place even when you're alone. There's TV's every direction so it's good to come for a sporting event It's not a huge place so if you want to see a play-off game, then come an hour before the game starts. I've tried several dishes - love the steaks! Appetizers are also varied and tasty. Had a deep friend pickle a while ago but I'm not sure if they're still available. I've been to this establishment a couple times with my girlfriends, mostly because it's convenient and they have some good dinner/lunch specials. I'm a fan of long island ice tea and this pub serves them as a double automatically for $7.95. The cocktail is delicious and doesn't taste very strong at all. The service is nothing special. The servers are usually nice and welcoming. Last night, however, was when it went downhill. The girls and I were craving steak without breaking our budgets so we decided to come here for their $10 steak and prawns special. My steak was a little bland but nothing like a little salt and pepper can fix. It was perfectly medium rare and the potatoes were nice and fluffy. Veggies were drenched with cheese sauce but needed a little more spice. While our food was good, the service was horrendous. Our server didn't greet us. She went straight for our IDs, which were on the table. She slammed our drinks on the table. She didn't smile at all. When we were about to give her our dinner orders, she said, "I'll take your drinks first then come back for your food order" in a cold voice, and again, no smile. My friend wanted her calamari packed up but the server seemed to have forgotten. When my friend reminded her, the server looked at her as though she was a nuisance and it was such a bother for her, said a mere "Oh" and continued to clear our table and walked away. When she came back with the take out box, she threw it to my friend across the table and left. My girls and I were appalled. We have never seen such disgusting attitude and service. Our bill was nearly $70 and we didn't leave a single tip. I'm still rating this place 3/5 stars because it's usually good service when we come, although it is nothing special. But after last night, they definitely deserve less. If this type of service continues everytime we go there, I'm afraid I'm going to have to come back here with a lower rating. read more

NOT RECOMMENDED The first two things we noticed at Guildford Station Pub were the lack of parking (after 14 spots it is beer store parking) and the sign on the door that says a dress code could be enforced at management discretion (any policy should apply the same to all customers). Either of these could have been overlooked if they were the only negatives in this experience... They Weren't! The interior atmosphere is absolutely delightful... dark wood, train/railroad theme and Christmas decorations while we were there. I really Wanted to like this place from the moment I walked in...but the experience was Very unpleasant. Service was rather slow and begrudging. Food took almost 30 minutes, and we were told it was because it was a new menu item that they were learning (flatbread and soup). The restaurant was perhaps 30% full. Vegetarians often learn to eat by selecting side options to meat entrees. I cannot recall the last time I was refused this option. But our waitress was adamant that we had to order the steak to get the loaded potato... No Exceptions! My friend clarified that I was a vegetarian, and asked again. She harshly replied that there are No Exceptions at this restaurant, it is policy. When my friend said that didn't leave many options, she just shrugged. She did not seem to care that we ate only appetizers and left hungry. My friend enjoyed her soup, we both agreed that the "new" flatbread was not good. This is terribly poor service and horrible restaurant policy. NOTE: If you are vegetarian or have special dietary needs or preferences of any kind, I would NOT Recommend this restaurant. They will Not accommodate you! I will NOT return to this restaurant, would never take friends or colleagues here, and I cannot recommend it because poor service and poor policies are rarely something that happens in a place with good leadership and management. Exceptional service, fun energetic atmosphere, & yummy dinner special! I had the surf and turf Saturday night special for 11.95 ordered rare. For once a restaurant made my steak properly! Was a perfect medium. Came with 2 shrimp skewers, 6 shrimps per stick, a stuffed potato, and veggies with cheese sauce. Both the steak and the shrimp were tender and juicy, the stuffed potato was creamy and delicious with a slight crisp on the outer edge of the skin, my only real complaint (other than no sour cream for the potato) is the cheese sauce. While the veggie were well cooked the sauce was rather bland and season less. Nothing a little salt and pepper didn't fix! The restaurant itself is made to appear as an old train station from the outside. The inside is filled with nostalgic signage and people enjoying themselves (which to me is an indicator of a good restaurant based on first impression). I personally sat on the patio, which features both a fireplace and heat lamps for the chiller evenings and is inclosed with shrubs. It was beautiful! Cheap, Tasty and Fun. Those three words describe The Station Pub perfectly. The decor resembles an old train station with lots of neon signs and wooden walls. it's definitely different but kinda fun to look around when waiting for your food and drinks. The food was incredible. My boyfriend and I had the calamari, the Potato Skins and the Friday dinner special - Surf and turf which was steak and shrimp. We also shared a pitcher of Stellas beer. The grand total was $44.99 which is inexpensive considering we went to watch the UFC fight that was on pay-per-view (we saved like $60 right there). The Calamari ($6.25) was served on top of a bed of fries, which is great because I had a nagging craving for fries. The potato skins ($6.95) were huge. They were potato halves with the insides removed, and filled with cheese, bacon, tomatoes and serves with a side of sour cream. So delish! Finally, the steak and shrimp ($10.95) was great too. It came with broccoli drizzled with cheese sauce and a stuffed potato - SO GOOD. The pitcher of beer ($18.95) is as it should be, cold. We went to night of the UFC fight so we were expecting a line-up, and we were right. I didn't mind waiting for 40 minutes to be seated because the staff was so friendly and kept us posted how much longer the wait would be. Even though it was extremely busy, the staff was attentive. No complaints! I'll come back here over and over and over again. The food is great and cheap, the alcoholic drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is very community-esque. Pretty neat bar/restaurant setup. The new stuffed yorkies appetizer was delicious! I recommend trying them. The station beef dip was pretty tasty as well, but the yam fries did not taste too great. I recommend getting the curly fries over any of the other fries choices. The service was okay. For not being that busy, I was disappointed the service was so slow. I go to the pub quite often for a quick lunch or fun dinner out with friends. The food for the most part is good pub food. The dry garlic wings are fabulous!! I agree with one of the other commenters that the fries could he better but food wise thats the only complaint. If there is a waitress named Melissa on, I highly reccomend you sit in her section!!
