You go in for one tooth issue and they provide you with a list of "nice to have" things done to your teeth. They quote you one price and when you are done, they send you a bill for a lot more. You go in for teeth cleaning, they upsell you on their mouthwash and mouthguard. When I confronted them about the original price, showed proof of what they originally quoted me, and reminded them of our original conversations, they called me a liar. That first impression honestly made me want to move forward with them. Scheduling was smooth, and they were generally good about getting me in around my appointment time during the earlier visits. However, things started to fall apart when it came to pricing transparency. I went in for permanent implants (I already have existing dentures), and after my initial consultation, I was quoted around $51,000, which was nearly $20,000 higher than other places I had visited. Because of that, I decided not to move forward at first. Afterward, I received multiple calls and texts from their office, and we eventually negotiated a price. We verbally agreed, and they confirmed via text to a flat $32,000, and this included anesthesia. That number was in line with other quotes I had received, so I felt comfortable moving forward and scheduled a follow-up appointment to finalize everything, sign the contract, and make a payment. This is where my experience took a turn. I waited about 20 minutes past my appointment time, and while they did eventually acknowledge the delay, it wasn't until I had already been waiting for a while. During the contract process, they increased the anesthesia cost by an additional $3,500, even though anesthesia had already been included in the agreed-upon $32,000 total. After some back-and-forth, I reluctantly agreed to a revised total of $35,500 just to move things forward. Then things became even more concerning. The billing assistant left the room multiple times and came back with yet another change, an additional $2,500 for a zirconia upgrade. This was especially frustrating because zirconia was the only option we had discussed from the beginning and was part of the original plan. It appeared to have been removed from the revised contract, only to be added back in as an upcharge. At that point, the total had climbed about $6,000 above what we had already agreed upon verbally and via text. That lack of consistency and transparency didn't sit right with me, and I ultimately decided to walk away without moving forward. Overall, the staff was kind and the office made a great first impression, but the repeated pricing changes and lack of clear, consistent communication during the contracting process were too concerning for me to ignore.

They were incredibly helpful with figuring out insurance, explaining costs and options, and overall just really supportive for us young things trying to navigate healthcare. Dr. Shaffer, and the hygienist, Gulnaz, were equally kind and helpful! I didn't feel shamed for not having seen a dentist in a couple years- they were understanding and explained my diagnosis clearly and helped me with next steps. This was huge for me as someone who struggles health anxiety. I explained exactly which tooth hurt and that I am a complete dental weenie. The front-desk staff and hygienist were both lovely. The dentist was neither lovely nor particularly interested in making an anxious patient feel comfortable. After a surprisingly brief evaluation, he announced, with enormous confidence, that my crown was cracked and I needed a root canal. When I asked how urgent it was, he told me it needed to be done **immediately. As in, the very next day.** How fortunate that he could promptly book me with another dentist inside the Gentle Dental corporate family. I was then told that they do not make same-day crowns, so after this urgent root canal at another location, I would need to drive back to his office, have a temporary crown placed, and wear it for approximately three weeks. An irreversible procedure, two offices, multiple appointments, and three weeks with a temporary crown... all based on a diagnosis delivered with plenty of arrogance and very little explanation. Something about this did not sit right, so I got a second opinion this morning. That dentist took extensive X-rays and found **zero evidence that my crown was cracked**. He also said it was inconclusive whether I needed a root canal at all and referred me to an independent local endodontist to determine what is actually happening before anyone starts permanently altering my tooth. Imagine that: gathering sufficient evidence before performing an irreversible procedure. Revolutionary. I do not know whether the first dentist was careless, overconfident, or just remarkably enthusiastic about scheduling procedures within the Gentle Dental network. I do know that if I had blindly accepted his "DO IT TOMORROW" diagnosis, I might already have had a root canal that has not even been determined to be necessary. The staff members I encountered were genuinely kind, and they deserve credit for that. But kindness at the front desk does not compensate for a dentist who delivers an aggressive diagnosis with absolute certainty, applies immediate pressure to act, and conveniently keeps every step inside the same corporate $y$tem. Get a second opinion. Preferably before someone turns your tooth into a corporate team-building exercise. Again - front desk ladies and hygienist were very lovely.

They again stated that they could and scheduled the appointment. They call me the day of the appointment, a week later, to inform me that they made a mistake and cannot provide what my daughter needs. They said that all they can do is take x-rays and provide referrals. I already have the x-rays and THEY were the referral. Also, how is that service providing my daughter will any type of pain relief that we discussed via email and via phone prior. Their exact words were that "no one is perfect" and that there "is nothing they can do about it"! Mind you this is after I have already requested time off work and have been telling my daughter for a week to just hold in there because the dentist would be seeing her soon. ABSOLUTE IDIOTS!!!! AVOID THEIR STUPIDITY AT ALL COSTS.

Jenna was especially helpful - from making sure I was comfortable with some snazzy shades and cozy blanket, to making sure my bite was ok and polishing my teeth. I'm going on 73 years old and this was a scary thing to face. Dr. Lemieux made me comfortable throughout the procedure and reassured me to call if I needed anything or had any questions.I opted for local numbing, no anesthesia. Now 24 hours later I have minimal pain. I likely won't need Ibuprofen today. I took Ibubrofen twice yesterday. I was definitely in some pain once the numbing medicine wore off.
