East Wind Coffee Roasters is truly something special in San Gabriel. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every cup. The Rush Hour Espresso is bold, rich, and energizing, with deep notes of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and toasted nuts that give you a clean, powerful boost without any harsh bitterness. Velvet Sunrise is beautifully balanced and indulgent--silky smooth, creamy, with layers of dark chocolate, bright green apple, and a subtle marshmallow-like sweetness that lingers. What really stands out is how fresh the beans are; roasted to order, they arrive at their peak and elevate your daily coffee ritual into something you actually look forward to. If you appreciate thoughtfully roasted coffee and want to support a local roaster doing things right, East Wind is a must-try.

My fav coffee roasters made to order and always delivers

What a cute find: thanks for my yelpie friend Laurel T. Finally made it on today.... Place is small…read morewith plenty of seats. Great customer service and the drinks are too cute. (And yummy) Glad we made it in today (less crowded) See ya next month. For another latte Art:) Ok byeee!!

Ok, I don't know anything about coffee. Only thing I know about coffee is, espresso martinis are…read moredelicious, lol. I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. My friend grabbed a table while I placed the order. -they do have a good amount of seating. The place is pretty small though. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. They had Sabrina carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo specials and they even had a Lana Del Rey latte (cinnamon girl, named after her song) only thing that bummed me out They had a case with delicious pastries. But since I came here later in the day, they only had a couple stragglers left behind -they open at 7 am, for everyone needing their morning coffee -vegan options -free WiFi -woman owned -LGBTQ owned -they give back to the community

The main thing that stands out here is their 1987 coffee roaster which is the center piece of the cafe. They roast various single origin beans on a daily basis, so you know you can purchase some fresh coffee beans here. If you need your beans grounded, they do grind it for you depending on your brewing method. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2. Matcha with Sakura Cold Foam (4/5) The matcha was blended smoothly and was not grassy at all. The Sakura cold foam didn't really taste like Sakura (been to Japan, so know what real Sakura flavor should taste like), but instead, just tasted floral. 3. Columbia Supremo Whole Beans Full body and aromatic. Good for those who like to drink black coffee 4. Guatemala Huehuetenango Whole Beans: Crisp, acidic and a hint of nuttiness Glad I found this local roaster where I'll definitely be coming back to get some more fresh beans.

Tried the pistachio latte with oat milk here and it was just okay, 3/5…read more That said, the coffee itself smells absolutely amazing walking in, and it's clear this place is really built for coffee beans and grounds rather than lattes. I noticed a lot of customers coming in specifically to grab beans, which honestly makes total sense once you're in there. If you're looking for beans or grounds, this is definitely your spot. If you're looking for a latte though, it's not the best. 3/5 if you're coming for a drink! If this review helped, a thumbs up is always appreciated
