There's also a viewing room upstairs and another viewing area downstairs, so parents can easily watch their kids during practice. One wonderful thing about this center is that the little ones get to explore the big gymnastics area with real equipment and see real gymnasts practicing. They can touch, feel, play some of the equipments (with their parents ofcourse) It's so inspiring for them! The younger kids, together with their parents, can observe and learn from the older kids. One moment that really amazed me was when I was downstairs watching my kids and saw little girls doing kettlebell exercises. I was like, "Is this for real? Wow!" They're not just playing -- they are actually working out and building physical strength from a young age. I also love how they rotate leadership among the kids during group activities. You can see the little girls taking turns leading their group, which helps build confidence and teamwork. Using a real gymnastics facility with real equipment, and allowing younger kids to see older kids train, is incredibly motivating. It creates such a positive and inspiring environment. My children absolutely love going to this center. It feels like both a workout space for children and a place where they learn discipline and confidence at the same time.

I called her to speak about my daughter loving volleyball. She wanted to learn. She was very reluctant and unsure about herself. I spoke with coach on the phone. I appreciate her quick response time. I told her a bit about my daughter and her shyness. She was very understanding. We talked about starting her off easy. She let us pay for just one class. If she liked it and wanted to come back then I would pay for the whole week. That first day was great! You could tell that she had worked with some of the other kids in the past. That was mainly because they knew their assignments the second they all stepped into the gym. She introduced herself to myself and my daughter. She made a couple of jokes that seemed to put my daughter at a little ease. She called another girl to come and take my daughter to work with the other kids on setting up the court and putting chairs out for the parents to sit in. I appreciate her giving the families an option of being close or being upstairs in the viewing section. I spoke to coach Sarah for a couple of minutes while the kids worked. Though brief, I could feel the positivity and good energy that was effecting everyone around her. I sat there for the whole class watching my daughter in bewilderment. She was active, smiling, and talking with the other kids. Coach Sarah has an infectious personality. She had serious, silly, and determined moments. She didn't let any of them give up on their wanting to improve. During their laps, one player was having a hard time with his last one. Coach Sarah had the kids cheering him on. She jogged that last half lap with him. She let him pass her as she dramatically lost. lol I can see her squinting from the pain in her knee she sprained while practicing with the older kids. I reminded her that us 40+ year olds can't quite do what these kids can on injured body parts. lol She looked at me with such a sincere look and told me that changing the look she saw in his eyes was worth a bit of pain. At the end of the class I told her to take my checkbook! lol

However, after what we experienced with East Bay Volleyball Club, I feel other families deserve to know what they could potentially be walking into before making the commitment. My daughter played on the P1 team under Director/Coach Sarah Talton. We joined because we believed in the environment and values that were presented early in the season -- a program focused on supporting athletes, building confidence, developing skills, and creating positive opportunities for girls in the sport. Unfortunately, our experience throughout the season did not reflect those values. As the season progressed, there were ongoing issues with communication, professionalism, leadership, and the way players were spoken to and treated. There was constant turnover and inconsistency with coaching staff, and at times the girls were left without coaching direction during matches when the coach stepped away from the bench. Families were also promised three practices plus conditioning, yet those expectations were not consistently met. At one point, parents were told the girls "weren't ready" for conditioning, which was difficult to understand considering conditioning is meant to help athletes improve and prepare physically throughout the season. The breaking point for our family came during an end-of-season tournament when the team was forced to forfeit three matches they had already won because players were not properly rostered/cleared to compete. The girls worked hard for those wins after an already difficult season, only to lose them over preventable administrative issues that were completely within the club's control. What made the situation even more disappointing was the lack of accountability afterward. When concerns were brought to Sarah by parents, they were dismissed rather than taken seriously. At the end of the day, the environment we experienced did not align with our family's values when it comes to honesty, accountability, professionalism, and respect for young athletes. Based on our experience, this is not a club I will be returning to.

I went by Perks to pick up my son who had been a member for about a month, He really seemed to…read moreenjoy going and had really started to come out of his shell, even though he had never really showed any interest in baseball I thought it would be a good environment for him and his older brother. Today for the second day in a row I found him in the weight room alone on a machine. I approached Perk and mentioned My son was in the weight room with the intention of asking him if he had been showing any interest in baseball. Unfortunately I must have caught him in a bad mood because he became immediately defensive. (Or perhaps I came off wrong) Which caused me to react as well. It soon became a yelling match between us where he was asking me if I wanted to go outside, he was getting in my face and trying to intimidate me while spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, insulted me as a parent told me I was abusive to my two children and that I was the reason that they were so fucked up. (His words not mine) All I was trying to do this whole time is go get my son so that we could leave. Unfortunately all of this took place in front of many parents, coaches and children. I am disappointed things turned out this way, I truly believed he cares about the kids he coaches and makes a positive difference in their lives, as he was starting to do in my two sons. Am I a perfect parent? Absolutely not. Have I made mistakes? Absolutely. But I've never abused my children in any way. And to have their baseball coach suggest to me that I have, in front of my son and in front of the whole classroom is unacceptable and I will not tolerate that
