High end stereo system culture can certainly be intimidating but you don't have to be an expert or understand the science of how sound is literally transferred etc. to enjoy, your ears will tell you most if you just simply listen intently. Don Better Audio has a low-key approach to serving his clients. You come over his studio on the east side of Cleveland (bring a few of your favorite records, CDs, etc.). Have an idea of what you want to acquire and spend, in terms of budget and sound quality. Don will sit with you and consult on what he can offer you and then he will actually play for you various items (speakers, record players, amps, etc) which could serve your ears and music listening needs. Once you decide on what you want, Don will invoice you and order the equipment from his suppliers. I was so new and green I asked Don to bring the equipment to my home and set it all up for me (he did bring it over and set it all up in my home in about an hour's time once all the equipment I ordered was delivered to his store). Total time from committing to buy to having it all in my home was just over 1 week. In the world of high end audio systems, dropping over 6 figures is entirely possible if money is no object. Myself, I had a somewhat humble budget and I had been saving and waiting years to finally get my high end audio starter set. The hardest part of it all was finding someone I could trust who could show me the ropes and offer me hi fi stereo equipment that fit my budget with good bang for the buck. Thee worst place ever! Took my phone there to get LCD Screen fixed this week, I guess the "owner"…read morewas out of town so his brother said he could fix it! It took him two hours to replace screen, then I found that my earpiece speaker was now not working. I immediately returned for him to fix at that time he disassembled my phone again to follow up with "this is stressful, I'm not the expert". He assured me his brother could fix it tomorrow. Prior to leaving I requested a receipt, he said we don't do receipts and wrote his name, amount paid and date on a sheet of paper! Return the following day to now a phone that won't work with any LCDs and turn on! Owner looked me in the face to say "it's not his fault I took the risk when allowing them to fix my phone" . The "Owner" then handed my my phone back returned my money with an extra twenty for my trouble, while telling me to take it to apple store. Fast forward today took to Apple store to find out they didn't replace all the components, screws are missing and the heating elements are missing. This store basically gave me a shell of a phone and a $600 problem. I have to now buy another phone while still under contract with this phone! Do not go to this place! They won't return my calls and hangs up on me! They clearly are in the business of taking advantage of people!
