That culminated in their estimator/sales rep Zach arriving, as scheduled, on Monday 7/6/26. Zach proved to be exceptionally knowledgeable & courteous as he evaluated all the variables that would impact the difficulty of installing a new system, and he readily answered all my questions. He provided a very competitive estimate for installing my preferred, high quality Rheem brand system to replace the old Lennox system--an estimate I readily accepted. The installation was scheduled for Friday 7/10/26. That's when the HVAC installation techs Kyle and Jason arrived early to get the job done. Almost a month ago I called just before a heat wave to report that my central AC was not working. They sent a tech the next day. After an hour's work he told me that he could not fix the AC because he did not have the necessary equipment. Huh? They sent a tech to fix the AC and didn't send him with the right equipment to fix an AC? Then he said he would "try to come back tomorrow" with the right equipment. Tomorrow came, and he didn't. So I called High Ground and was told that the appointment had been set up for a full week from that day. How did "tomorrow" turn into the end of next week? Anyway, the heat wave came and went and I did not have AC. A few techs finally showed up at the end of the next week with the equipment they said they needed and worked for an hour. Then they told me they would have to order a part and charged me a deposit of $900.00. The AC still didn't work without that part. Another heat wave came and went with no AC. I called again and asked if the ordered part had come in. I was told that the tech who worked on the AC was on vacation and would not be back until the following week. At that time they would review the account and find out what was going on with the part and the service to install it. What the... Why did he have to be present to find out what was going on with the part? Why didn't High Ground know whether or not the part came in and assign another tech while the first one was on vacation? By the time he returns, I will have gone without AC for over 3 weeks since I first reported the problem. Totally unacceptable. Do not do business with this incompetent outfit. They don't know what they're doing.

Our furnace started blowing tepid air on a weekend day. When we called our propane company to…read morerequest service, they sent out a tech from Comfort Air Services. The tech told us that the heat exchanger was covered in soot and could no longer deliver hot air. We were told that our old furnace needed to be replaced. This was not a surprise since the unit was 20 years old. Patrick reached out to us with a quote to replace the furnace including a new whole house humidifier at our request. We also asked him to replace our 20 year old A/C unit with a new heat pump which he did. The furnace was replaced the next day along with a new programmable thermostat. The heat pump took another week or so to complete due to wait time on some parts that had been ordered. The very next day after installation we noticed that the time on the new thermostat had jumped five hours ahead which threw our heating schedule off. Three members of our family reprogrammed the thermostat to the correct time after it had repeatedly jumped five hours after each reprogramming. Clearly we had a defective unit since the clock continued to jump ahead on its own by five hours. We relayed this information to Patrick who was not convinced that we had a defective thermostat, so he came out to reprogram it again himself. The T-stat clock jumped ahead five hours on its own after Patrick had left. We called him with this news and he finally ordered a new thermostat and replaced it about two weeks after the initial installation. All this frustration could have been avoided if he had believed us initially and ordered a new thermostat sooner.

About 9 months later in late December, I woke up early in the morning to a cold house. Seems one of the wires on the igniter in the unit was faulty/loose (manufacturer issue, no installer). I called Patrick, and it went straight to v-mail. After leaving a message, I started to wonder if I shouldn't have gone with a larger company with more comprehensive customer support. Well, within 60 seconds of leaving the message I got a call back, and within 20 minutes, a very friendly mechanic was in my basement. He fixed the ignition error problem at no cost, and even took a quick peak at my gas fireplace that had been having some issues. Speaking as both a customer, and also a contractor - 10/10 experience.

They charge me $129 for showing up. 3 days go by with no follow up call with a quote. When I called, there seemed to be confusion around getting me a quote. I was told that the master electrician would call on Monday with my quote. Surprised by that, I asked, "why would an electrician call me when the job had nothing to do with electrical?" I could not get an answer to that. Monday comes and no call. It's now been a few weeks and I've never heard back nor received service for what I paid for. Was my first time calling looking for a new heating and cooling service. Will never call this company again. My mistake was paying the $129 before receiving what I should have received.

The heat had been off and I don't use oil to heat water. I won't need a drop of oil until November. Called to speak with management and the person answering the phone would not pass me along. Sent them an email requesting a call back. It's been a week now and not a word from them. I have been a customer for 18 years and this is what you get. Cancelled my account this morning, same lady answered the phone and was pretty rude. Just a word to the wise, there are much better companies out there .
