Great company and service! Jose R came out today to perform yearly maintenance on our furnace and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He explained and showed me how important yearly cleaning was for the system. Jose is a wealth of knowledge and went out of his way to explain what he was doing - he is a asset to the company. I just moved to Boxford and the house has this state of the art Renai boiler the size of a mirowave oven. My old plummer said these things are touchie and be sure to keep it maintained. Well I found these guys on the renai website as certified service folks so I signed them up. #1 Someone answers the phone ... and Taylor knew what she was talking about . #2 Got an appointment in a reasonable timeframe #3 Eric arrived right on time #4 He got the work done quickly and told me everything he did plus some hints on how to deal with the equipment should it act up #5 The price was fair and the receipt told me exactly what was done. OK it was only the 1st experience but i'll certainly call these guys for my heat or my AC in the future read more

Absolutely ridiculous. I called inquiring about having my AC condenser unit and Evaporator coil replaced. The gentleman who answered the phone initiated the conversation with "ok, well, what do you want" after I had asked "I was looking for help with getting some new equipment in my new home". We're off to a great start buddy. I then said that I was quote-shopping, which you know, people with a brain do. I asked about how I could reduce costs and said I could provide both my own condenser and evaporator coil. His response to this was "Would you go to a restaurant and bring your own steak?". No, I absolutely would not. But I work in IT. Do people bring me their laptops that they bought at Best Buy and expect me to fix and/or remove all the junk store-bought computers have? You bet. Do I ever answer a question with a smartass question? Absolutely not. The "conversation" if you can call it that, ended with him saying he doesn't service people who "look things up on the internet" and that he was all set. Sorry that you still live in 1992. I'm sure the equipment that you install are from this era as well. HVAC companies like this need to realize that the new generations live in technology and technology allows us to share with the public how horrible of a business you are. read more

Amazing service and speed. I purchased a "duct cleaning" Living Social package for $39 from another company, and the company came and tried to rope me into a $1,000 "cleaning and service package" for my tiny office unit. I asked a local Facebook group for an HVAC recommendation, and a Groveland resident recommended Northeast Heating and Cooling and I have to agree. They came right out, got my office ready for the summer, and were in and out in 45 minutes. They said that my system was clean and all the "problems" that the other company pointed out did not actually exist. HONESTY. When you hire a mechanical company, like someone to work on your car, your roof, or your heating and air conditioning, you want to know that someone is telling you the truth, and that's what I got from Northeast. Received a Boiler service today. Total came out to like $700ish. Price included: Transformer, 3 Zoning Valves, and a Expansion Tank. Seemed kind of pricey, but happy to have heat in the house again. On a side note, technician HATES questions. Asked him about a yearly maintenance program...blank looks. Asked him about recommending a good general contractor....blank looks. Asked him about the heating/cooling trade.....blank looks. Office staff is friendly and responds to emails quickly. I live in a cape and I had a new furnace install in February. The finished basement was the warmest place in the house and ever since the installation it is the coldest. I put a nest sensor in different rooms and the basement is 4-5 degrees cooler than the rest of the house. Rich asked me what I wanted him to do and then he started shouting at me that there was no way to fix it. I am very disappointed in the professionalism and customer service provided. read more

The other day I turned on my air-conditioning and noticed water pooling on the floor. We have a service contract with Northeast Heating and Cooling so I called them and they sent someone over the next day. The technician was on time and fixed the issue. The best thing was that because I had the service contract there was no charge. You can't beat that for superior service! read more

I obtained a quote to have a new gas steam boiler installed in my house by this company. For quote comparison, I inquired as to why they chose a particular boiler(Utica) over other brands - especially since this brand receives low ratings online. I was told that it was "personal preference." Since I am the one paying for the boiler and I will be the one dealing with any headaches this system may cause over the years, this reasoning simply is not good enough. Additionally, I was told that it would be about 4 weeks before they could do an install. Since my current system is not working, that would have meant no heat for our family until almost Thanksgiving. UNACCEPTABLE! read more

They are the best customer service I have ever dealt with! On several occasions, they came right after I called (off business hour) to help us with our problem without charging us an arm and a leg! Particularly, We lost heating on a coldest weekend day last winter, I called them 6am in the morning and they showed up 1 hour later to help me get my heating back and running! I was very happy with my first experience with Northeast Heating and cooling. They were the third HVAC company I contacted last summer when one of my AC units stopped blowing cold air. The other two company's immediately declared the unit unfixable and quoted me for replacement. When Northeast came out, I explained the situation. After evaluating the unit for a short time, the technician asked if I wanted to try to fix it instead of immediately replacing it. Of course! Well, it worked beautifully all last summer and is still going strong this season, heatwave and all. They saved me thousands of dollars! I'm always impressed by a company that puts the needs of the customer above their bottom line. When my units eventually do need replacing, they will be the first ones I call! read more

I called these guys today because I realized as the temperature went up to 95 degrees my house was not staying cool. Rich was very straightforward with me on the phone and there was no BS. He told me what the charges would be and they were reasonable. They had some availabilty today and although they couldn't tell me exactly when they would be here they promised they would call when they were on the way so I would know within about a half hour when they would be here, and Rich did call me when Eric was on the way. Eric showed up right on time and found my system needed freon and charged it up. No surprises, paid with credit card and he was on his way. So far everything is cooling off. read more

We had our furnace die on us on a cold day in November. We called Northeast Heating & Cooling as they were referred to us from a friend. Rich came right out that day and the furnace was installed the next day! Rich and his team were amazing, they made sure we got just what we were looking for and the install went flawlessly. I've been meaning to write this review for months and have simply procrastinated far too long. Rich and Eric, the owners of Northeast, are simply the best HVCA contractors I've used. We built a new barn with apartment about ten years ago and used another HVCA contractor who failed us completely. The system never operated correctly and, despite numerous telephone calls and other communications, that company never managed to resolve our many issues. After a few years of struggling with various HVCA "experts", we found Northeast and they immediately identified the problems and resolved them completely. I also use Northeast for my own home and have recommended them to neighbors and friends who need expert help resolving HVAC issues. Besides their knowledge and skill (which are considerable), Rich and Eric are genuinely nice guys who handle even the craziest situations with good humor and true caring. I was absolutely shocked by the rudeness of the on-call service individual who answered my emergency call on June 2, 2013 at 11:30am. We just moved into our home the previous week and went to turn on our air conditioner for the first time and found that it was not working (this was explained to the on-call individual). I had an "emergency service" call scheduled for our air conditioner with this company for the end of the following week, on 6/7/13 (scheduled through our home warranty) and had called to see if there was any way to get a tech to our house sooner. I explained to the on-call individual that I have 2 young children, one with special medical needs, and that on the 7th I had to take my special needs child to Boston for several doctors appointments. He told me it was not possible for someone to come earlier in the week and said that today was a weekend. His tone implied that I should not be calling the "emergency service" line and disrupting his weekend, even though my case is considered an emergency due to the heat wave we are experiencing. I tried to be polite during this entire exchange although the individual answering the emergency calls was being very rude. I explained to the on-call individual that I did not know when I would be home on 6/7 and asked if someone from the office would be calling me on Monday to set up a service time for the 7th. He told me, in an extremely rude tone, "No one will call you on Monday. We will show up on Friday and call you 30 minutes before we get there." I asked him what I needed to do to be able to work this service around my daughter's specialists doctors appointments. He then he proceeded to tell me that he can choose who they want to perform service on and that he was going to call my home warranty company and cancel my emergency service scheduled for 6/7. He then hung up. I immediately called my home warranty company and at the same time the NE Heating and Cooling individual called to cancel my service for 6/7. I was in utter shock that he would cancel this emergency call, especially after explaining very politely the seriousness of my situation, including my daughters medical needs. I will never use this company based on this horrible experience and I will be calling their corporate office on Monday to file an official complaint. It is unacceptable to treat another human being like this, nevermind that it is unprofessional. If this individual was upset that he was receiving emergency calls on the weekend, then he needs work it with the person who scheduled him to be "on-call." He should not be rude and mean to a customer. I simply followed the prompts when calling the number provided to me by my home warranty company that said to "press 1 for emergency service." Unacceptable and extremely upsetting. Now I do not know when I will be able to get service on our air conditioner and the temperature is supposed to be in the 90s. read more
