I want to like this place because they cut me a break on my first visit, but I experienced more annoyance than relief in the long run. The first time I booked an appointment the receptionist told me to come right down and the Dr. could see me. I did so and sat in the waiting room for 10 minutes before the Dr. came out, saw me, visibly alarmed, and conferred with the receptionist before saying, "I can't take you." Almost her exact words, directed at me as if I'd just come to sit in her waiting room and prevent her from leaving for the day. She softened and offered to take me on her day off, and left the secretary to make the appointment. Would you be surprised if I told you that they screwed THAT scheduling up too? I sat on the front stoop for a half an hour the next day (in pain) before the Dr. rolled through with her kid in the car, on the way to day camp. I waited for another 15 minutes (past even the amended appointment time) for her to come back. In retrospect I realized that had I not been desperately seeking relief I would have been suspicious of the fact that she failed to ask me really any investigative questions about my pain. I didn't expect X-rays, but I find it odd that she just took my word for what I thought was the problem, no probing for more information as chiros will. She set me up in a dark room with the stim pack on for a few minutes. Then she came back and hauled on me (she did ask me how well I withstood adjustments), doing an acceptable job (I knew it wasn't going to be fixed the first time around, anyway) of fixing what hurt, but in a detached manner that confused me. I don't know if it was lack of empathy or poor "bedside" manner, but I certainly didn't feel as comfortable as I have with other chiros. The price is pretty good and the office is really handy to me, right at the end of my street, but I don't really want to go back. You wouldn't have to hold me at knife point, but I think "meh" sums it up nicely. read more

Dr Amy Westrick was great! I called late Thursday to make an appointment and she was able to take me on Monday! My neck was bothering me for a couple months, so I need it to fix and couldn't wait any longer. Honestly I was looking for a parking longer than I spent in Dr Westrick office. She fixed my neck pretty quick and professionally. No pain, no unnecessary talks or up-selling. For 35$ it's more than worth it! Definitely recommend it read more

Let me start off by saying that one star is too much. My first visit was impersonal and rushed. I felt as if the Dr. was not really there mentally, like there was another place she wanted to be and was in a rush to leave. She had a rough manner to boot, but I figured that everyone has "off" days so I booked another appointment. Ugh. The second time around was worse than the first. She copped a "superior" attitude and was visibly annoyed by the 2 questions I asked. Her lack of caring was like a flashing neon sign. I had to ASK her for a full adjustment. She was only going to do a partial and try to kick me out after a 3 minute visit. I'll never go back, no pun intended. read more

I am surprised that Dr Westrick doesn't have only 5 star reviews... I desperately needed prenatal chiropractic assistance for back pain and breech presentation, the insurance I had didn't offer any benefits for chiropractors. My doula, Rachelle Friessen, who is also pretty awesome and has a wealth of knowledge recommended Dr Amy. I was so happy that they were able to fit me in the schedule on the same day! When you are in pain the last you want to do is wait several weeks for an appointment. The young lady who answered the phone was very pleasant. When you are not well the last thing you want to hear on the phone is "HOLD PLEASE" by some cranky over worked receptionist. This was not the case at Eastside. I can usually tell if I am going to like a place or not based on my initial phone conversation and I got a good feeling about this office. Dr Amy was very nice and professional. I loved the maternity pillows she uses. Seriously, just being able to lie on my front, was worth the visit. I was impressed that she could tell what type of work I did just by touching/ manipulating my back! After my initial adjustment my back felt better. I can hardly wait to go back next week! I was very disappointed by my experience with Eastside Chiropractic. Went for my first visit this week while I was in severe back pain. The intake is so inadequate, they never even asked what my physical mobility or pre-existing conditions are (which is pretty darn important because I have arthritis!!) She hardly spoke to me, just asked for a 2 second explanation of why I was there, then got my on the table and started cracking. I was so alarmed but didn't know what to do and didn't know what to expect since this was my first chiro experience ever. Looking back, I was not comfortable with how little she sought to understand me, my body, and my conditions before touching me and bending me. Reading the other reviews I can see that I'm not alone in saying that Dr Westrick is very impersonal, doesn't seem to show care for patients, and doesn't make people feel like they are in the right place to receive care and heal pain. No discussion on root cause of the pain, ordered No X-rays, No planned treatment. Just simply outdated and old just like her practice. Also no parking. Definitely not worth coming back hence changed my chiropractor to Lighthouse to receive effective and planned treatment. read more

Had a pinched nerve in my lower back that was affecting my hip and leg, causing severe pain. I thought an adjustment would help alleviate some of the pain. The "doctor" (if you can even call her that) was gruff, short, and showed very little warmth or care. She seemed confused and after my second visit suggested I just needed a massage (wrong). I didn't feel welcome. And I didn't feel like she cared about my issues. If I ever try chiropractic care again, it certainly won't be here. read more

Horrible. Just horrible. Not personable, seemed not present. Annoyed that I would ask questions. Annoyed that I had multiple areas of pain. Didn't explain what she was doing.
