Ok let me first say before i list all the bad parts about this service is that some of the drivers are very nice and Ive had some really nice conversations with some. Have actually learned some things about their culture, etc. More nice drivers then bad drivers but still you can have some bad apples. I have taken them many times over the three years Ive been here but I would say at the end of the day try and get someone else. They are just too unpredicatble will too many parts of the process that can screw you. I have called them before with good expericences but the many times they have been terrible is just too much to overlook. For example, been late to work more then once cause the dispatch got my numbers wrong with my phone number and my address. One time they quoted me 15 and then they were late and when i called they said they were so busy and they would call me cause it could be a hour or more. Late to work. Thanks Driver calls me to say he is 5 mins away when really ten. Then I have had them get all pissy with me cause i wasnt out there right away when they pulled up. Were talking like 2 mins after they arrive. Oh and by the way, there is no point in calling the office if you have had a bad experience cause they will basically tell you to piss off even if they have royally screwed up. Had a driver threaten to take me to the police station cause i had forgot my wallet and he honestly thought, even though they have my address, number, and have taken them for years, all of the sudden im gonna screw this guy for 20 bucks. So i had to have him drive me all the way home and then to work which is what i was trying to avoid in the first place cause of the expensive rate. No compensation. Few drivers actually know their way around the area and most have no clue and have no clue how GPS works. This isnt a bad thing to say but reality. Some drivers are just too green to this country for this kind of job. Its like someone threw them some keys and said go pick some people up when we call you and said dont worry, the customer will tell you how to get to the destination. You can tell how some have become very greedy from the American way. They try and get the most they can and when you pay with a card, literally every single driver ive had will watch his little computer to see what your gonna tip him which i hardly ever do cause of the price already and even tho they pay a lease on the car, that is there money. All of it. They show physical discomfort when paying with a card so much that i asked a guy once why and he said cause they only get that money once a week from all the card transactions, unlike cash which is right on the spot. Flat rate is bullshit and they charge what they feel alot. Took yellow cab to my house from work once to see is there is a diffrence. Guess what, same damn price and this was in rush hour traffic. Literally to the dollar it was the same. Probably more but the flat rate lingo sounds good. I live in the renton highlands and they charge 20 to go from there to the renton transit center and 33 to downtown bellevue. Bit high for me. I have more stories but its already too long here. So if you have any important commitment to make or you want to be somewhere on time, DO NOT USE THEM. But if your going somewhere not in a hurry, that isnt terribly important, doesnt matter if your late, you know where it is and can give them direction if they dont know where it is, you just got paid so being screwed out of a few dollars isnt the end of the world, then go for it. read more

10 min late. When I called to see where my driver was, they said oh its cancelled because you didn't answer your phone. Bs. No one called me. Lied to my face. I think they use this canned statement for any screwups on their end. The driver finally showed up and he was on his phone the whole ride. Had to give him turn by turn directions even though he had a Garmin. Then when I arrived he tried to overcharge me, but luckily I had looked up the rate online before going. After we dropped off my girlfriend and I kissed her goodbye, the taxi driver decided it was appropriate to lecture me about how homosexuality is wrong. He spent the rest of the ride telling me that my girlfriend and I needed to find boyfriends. I'm willing to bet that he himself does not have a boyfriend, which makes him a total hypocrite. When they're good they're OK, when they're bad they're AWFUL! Up until last night I had been a frequent customer of this company (Every weekend). The drivers for the most part are nice and get you from point A to point B with no problems. I walked 1.5 miles in very high heels last night after 4 calls to Eastside For Hire failed to get a cab to me. At one point I was told that I asked for a car to pick me up on Pine in Seattle - I was calling from Redmond. After I started walking when no cab showed up for 30 min, I stayed in contact with them to update them. When I stopped by an intersection and called to find out the status of my ride, I was told an intersection was not sufficient to get a cab to me, I needed an address. There was not an address available near me, and they refused to send the cab. I stopped walking at an Arco and asked the employee to call instead of me, I knew the dispatcher wasn't going to help me, and had become rude. When the cab arrived, I cried all the rest of the way home. My feet hurt so badly and I was extremely frustrated. The driver was apologetic when I told him my what had happened. My initial call was at 1:30am, I did not get home until 4am. I have deleted their number from my phone and finding another cab service to use. Any suggestions appreciated! read more

One word to describe this service - sketchy. Their drivers can never figure out how to get to my house, even though Google Maps will bring you right to my front door. Drivers have fair to poor communications skills. Credit card machine doesn't work - until you tell them that you will only pay that way - great news, it works now. Have used them six times for morning airport transportation and refuse too anymore. Limos and dedicated shuttles may be more expensive, but worth the extra $10 versus using this company. read more

Horrible service. I was at the Safeway in Redmond and I called Eastside for hire. They quoted me an arrival time of 15 to 20 minutes. I was fine with that. But, after waiting 30 minutes, I called them and told them the cab had not arrived. They said 10 more minutes sir. 22 minutes later, the cab finally arrived. After taking me to my destination I wanted to pay cash. The driver had no change. He expected me to pay him to drive me to get change. Unbelievable. I explained that not only was I not going to pay him to go get change, but that I didn't even want to pay full price for the cab. He drove me to get change free of charge but I ended up paying full price for the cab which is ridiculous. Unacceptable. Horrible service. read more

Wouldn't accept Transit Center as point of origin, demanded street address, gave her the cross streets, wouldn't accept that, told me she wouldn't get cab for me, hung up, wouldn't accept another call from me. read more

40 minutes late for pickup... Ordered a cab for my parents to take them from Redmond to the airport using Curb app and EastSide for Hire fleet. After the cab was late for 10 minutes, gave them a call. They told me the driver still several miles away. I asked to switch to another closer driver and they agreed. 15 minutes past 20 minutes past, my parents are getting super upset and worried, high blood pressure, all that. Called again, was told they are on the way "just couple of minutes away". Finally the cab arrived, 40 MINUTES late. Thanks god they were not late for the flight, though my dad had to take some serious meds for blood pressure... So there you have it; typically east side for hire offers good service, never before they were more than 5-7 minutes late. But 40 minutes? read more

Checked Eastside for Hire's (ESH) website for quote last night. Based on our 98006 zip it would cost $30. So we called ESH last night before our 'red eye' back from Maui to schedule pick up at Seatac at 6:30am. We were told a reservation was not needed since they have cars close by, but just call when we land. Well we called when we landed and were told it would be 20 minutes before a their car would arrive. This did not sound like a car close by, but given the $30 price and our past positive experience with ESH we went to the arrival floor to wait outside for our car. 10 minutes went by when we got a call from our assigned driver advising he was on his way with 10 minute ETA; 10 minutes later he called again inquiring where we were. We advised outside at arrival floor in front of the Alaska sign. 5 minutes later he called to inquire once again where we were? Again I advised at arrival floor in front of the Alaska sign. At this point it was clear he was not "20 minutes away," but most likely stuck in traffic somewhere. A few minutes later he called to apologize that he would not be able to pick us up. As a result, we took a Yellow cab home for $50! No time for Uber - we were tired and just wanted to get home. Bottom-line we will NEVER use Eastside for Hire again. read more

A one star is being generous. I called hours in advance for a 5 person taxi and they told me no problem. When they arrived 30 minutes late, they only sent a car for 4 people forcing me to find a ride for my 5th person. They offered to call a second car but demanded I still pay for it knowing it was their fault. Absolutely ridiculous service. Then the driver tried to sway me not to use the card machine and didn't even want to turn it on. I will never use them again and will tell all my friends not to either. We hired a taxi for pick-up in Redmond at 6:30pm. On top of being a half hour late, our taxi driver needed directions every step of the way (in an age where every driver should have a GPS or at least basic knowledge of the city) and he overcharged us, claiming not to know the rates and not to have change when his lie was discovered. I don't know what sort of shady employees Eastside for Hire are picking up, but it's no wonder that Uber is overtaking the taxi industry. Do not use this service, you will regret it. read more

I order Taxi for my dad. The Taxi was for 8:00 AM I was keep Calling them for 20 min and they say that they are on there way. Any way they got here 30 min later. The price is good but if you need to get to your destination in time I would not recommend using them. read more

For the women out there, PLEASE do NOT take this cab company. Yellow cab must be less of a risk even if it cost a few extra dollars. My lady friends have been stalked, sexually harrassed, and put in uncomftrable situations. I am compelled to write this finally after my best friend was dropped off on the side of I-5 last Saturday by an angry cab driver of #2284 after she found out he was overcharging her. This put her at risk. Every time a friend calls Eastside for Hire and reports these drivers, they do nothing. They keep saying its their word against hers. Terrible experience, cab number 2335 (C11831I). Overcharged me, refused to provide rate book that I asked for (which is required by law and is written inside the cab). When he provided it after I insisted I could confirm that he was overcharging $10. He got very agreessive, loud, and disrespectful, and made racist comments when I didn't tip him. I kept explaining that tipping is optional and that I wasn't tipping him because he tried to steal money from me. Besides all that, car seats are stained and smelled horrible, like urine. I paid $82 (SeaTac-Bothell). His name/license wasn't displayed in the cab, and he was very reluctant to hive me a receipt. The receipt he provided didn't have his name, trip number, driver ID, date, time, and I didn't see the meter on. read more

My co-worker and I just received what could be the worst service I have ever received. We just landed after returning home from business trip at get a ride to our office. The cab driver told us the trip was too short and he wasn't going to make any money. He then told us we should just walk the 4 miles to our office. Along the way he recommends we should paying $100 cash and when we get there the meter is off and he tells us he cannot take a credit card and only cash. After some discussion we pay $15 for our ride and will never be using this company again. read more

No regard for safety of others or the traffic laws: speeding in a residential area (while kids are going to school), using the right turn only lane to go straight and changing lanes in the intersection. Hassle free. I was suggested a couple of other taxi services when I was in Bellevue recently and needed a taxi at 4 AM. Their on-line reviews were not good. I found Eastside For Hire based on good reviews. Decided to try them out. Online booking was promptly followed by a text message. That is already reassuring. In the morning another text arrived when the taxi was dispatched. Provides peace of mind. The taxi was on time, the driver courteous (he did drive a bit fast, but not recklessly so). Economic too (for the airport you know in advance what the fixed rate would be). No advance payment needed. They accept cash or credit at the destination. Will use them again. read more

I just watched Eastside for Hire #2322 make a highly illegal maneuver, pulling around two cars in the left turn lane to run a red left turn light. Turned out he was taking two children to a summer class. I wouldn't let my dog ride with this company, much less my child. read more

I have used this company in the past and have thought that they are great. Recently however I used them and the driver was late and incredibly rude. I needed to go to the airport to pick up a friends car and when the driver heard that he seemed to get irate about it. Also when I asked to get his for hire license number so that I could report him I was informed that his company did not use those. I have a friend that works for the City of Seattle that told me that all valid Cab companies have their drivers get a For Hire License. Will not be using East Side or Flat Rate for Hire ever again. read more

Wish I could put zero stars. This is literally the worst cab company ever. I've used them about 3 or 4 times and every time the cab driver either had no idea where he was going (couldn't figure out how to get to Seattle via 520, couldn't figure out how to get to Redmond while already on 520) but my most recent experience of calling for a cab waiting TWENTY MINUTES only to call again to find out "gosh, gee whiz, we can't find your reservation!" I have used this service several times to get to/from the airport to my house in North Seattle (they cover more than just the Eastside!) and I've had great service. They are about the same price as a shared shuttle but are much more convenient because they don't make any other stops. I usually book a day in advance and it works out perfectly. They're really not good. They were solid for me for a while last year but I've tried them three times in the last few months and twice they didn't show up!! Now today they couldn't find my house, and when I called the dispatcher they said they didn't have the phone number for the cab driver. How do you not have the numbers for your drivers?? I moved to Lyft and Uber for car service, both of which actually offer transparency that tells you how far away the car is, who the driver is, what they're driving and a phone number to text/call if need-be. Unreliable is he only constant. Online bookings are simple as are phone bookings but even with 24 hours notice the cab cannot arrive on time. A 5.15am pickup to go to the airport does not mean a 5.20am call from the driver to say he has just left SeaTac and should arrive to pick me up in 20 - 25 minutes. GET REAL EASTSIDE! I'll just list the pros & cons PROS: Cab was clean The driver drove safely CONS When I called the woman who picked up sounded as though she absolutely hated her job The driver had no idea how to operate his GPS When we arrived at my destination I had to pull up Google maps on my phone to show him the distance then he told me to do the math so he could add it up. CONCLUSION All in all, I'm not too picky. But I have worked in customer service before & was surprised at how sub par theirs was. I travel regularly for work. I used Yellow cab to pick me up from my house to take me to the airport for 7 months. They were expensive, but they showed up on time and got me to the airport with plenty of time to spare. I heard about Flat Rate for Hire/Eastside for hire and found out that they were about $15-20 cheaper than yellow cab and started using them. The first 4 times, there was no problem. However, twice in the last 3 weeks the cab has not shown up. I called the dispatch both times and asked where my cab was. Both times, I was told that the cab is running late and will be there in 10 -15 minutes. Then I find out that the person who took my reservation the night before assigned the wrong date and the cab was never scheduled. I ended up having my girlfriend drop me off at 530 in the morning both times. Follow up customer service was terrible, as they didn't compensate me or give me a reasonable explanation why this happened twice. Needless to say I am not using them anymore. read more

I called them about an hour before the scheduled pickup time to confirm. The driver showed up almost 10 minutes early and sent me a text that he's waiting outside. I've used eastside for hire for over 5 years. Never any problems until this month. On the fourth of July I was told three times my driver would be there in less than 10 minutes. They never showed. This morning I was told my driver would be there in less then 25. They never showed. When I called back I was informed there weren't any drivers in my area. I saw at least three in my area. I just want to say, do NOT use these guys if you want to be anywhere on time. I have tried them twice in the past month now, and the first time they were ONLY 20 minutes late. The second time I was waiting to go to the airport, and I called them for status, and the girl on the line said that the driver is on his way, but she doesn't know when. He never showed up, and luckily I was able to grab a random cab on the street. These people are unorganized and unreliable. The price is definitely cheaper, so if you're willing to be very late to wherever you are going, or have a lot of extra time, you can save a few bucks using them. But their extreme lack of punctuality will keep me from ever using them again. I would highly recommend staying away from them. read more

First time using it for work to go from Redmond to Seatac airport. Booked online ahead of time. Got a text when the cab was 0.5 miles away and the driver was a bit early. Cab was clean but a bit old but can't beat the flat rate fee to the airport was about $20 cheaper than other taxis I have used. Gave receipt with electronic cc swipe all from the back seat screen. Very convenient and prompt and have arranged by taxi ride back home on the return flight. Got me to my 5am flight early with no stress or hassle. read more

Was in a rush to catch the 10:30 ferry after work. I am disabled so I don't walk fast so I knew a taxi was my best option. I hailed the first cab I saw. I had some water with me and the guy questioned whether it was water or not. Then he was huffy the whole 1/2 mile to the ferry and wouldn't drop me off where I asked him to. Then when I asked him how much since he chose not to run the meter he said 1p dollars. I said bullshit we only went half a mile and he was like oh 7 dollars. I did not tip this guy. I believe the cab number was 2224. It should not cost 7 dollars to go from pike place market to the ferry terminal at 10 at night. Sticking with Lyft from bow on. read more
