I went to Glacier Grizzly Resort the day before and to confirm with the owner Daniel that the glamping tipi is available due to the bad reviews. Upon checking in (7/11) Daniel first told me that they had a "power outage" and I could not stay in the glamping tipi due to this. He went on and on that they will have the "power outage" fixed by tomorrow. By the end of the conversation he (the owner Daniel) told me that what actually happened is that they overbooked the glamping tipi and they did not have any tipis for me to stay in. They did offered me the camper that they rent at a "discounted" rate (even more than I was paying for the glamping tipi) BUT only for ONE night. When I refused to stay in something that I did not rent and demand a refund,he argued with me about refunding. He did not get or give me any information for refunding me and I never saw him again. Also.......... upon further investigation Daniel had several lawsuits against him, including one with the US government. http://employmentlawgroupblog.com/contractor-pays-1-15-million-for-faking-partnership-with-native-american-business/ https://casetext.com/case/chattin-v-ideal-bus-partners-3

We are wrapping up a trip from Glacier National and stayed on both sides to reduce driving…read more Whatever you do, DO NOT stay at Glacier Grizzly RV. We booked ours in Feb based on their website that stated they were all new resort with camp store, laundry facilities, 50 amp hookups, ADA bath house. In the last month or so they updated their website to say they were still under construction. We had an RV site and 2 Glamping Tipis reserved, 10 people total. We contacted them the week before our scheduled arrival and Lori confirmed everything was good to go. (We had seen some recent reviews saying otherwise) We stopped by there the day before out arrival and met the owner Daniel, he told us to pick any spot we wanted when we come in, as some sites aren't complete yet, and that our Tipis were ready to go. The next morning we moved our rig there, set it up, and tried to check into our Tipis. 1. We have a 50 amp rig with 2 a/c and the pedestal was 30 amp. They told me they had built a 50 amp converter they would put on the pedestal to make sure I had 2 hot legs (They never did this, so no clue what the contraption was) 2. We were told Tipis now weren't ready yet, needed to be cleaned from previous night. I said that's fine, but asked for them to tell which ones were ours, due to it would be evening before we get back from the park. He said he would text it to me since we would be in park with no service, then I'd get the message when I got service again. 30 mins later I get a call from Lori because they were confused about the Tipis, but got that straightened out. Later that evening when we come out of the park, I get a text saying they overbooked and now don't have our tipis, but they'll put us in a basic tipis (no floor, water, electric, or actual beds) for small discount, an older used 5th wheel and new smaller TT for no discount, or refund the tipis and we can go elsewhere. Neither Daniel or Lori would answer our calls, so we canceled my Nephew's 18th bday dinner to go see what was going on. Daniel was actually in the campground when we got back (Usually no host, he just comes by randomly throughout the day). We discussed what had happened, he told me the electric was out in our tipis, so we couldn't stay in them, and they weren't overbooked. He eventually backed up and said they were overbooked after I told him I could see the lights on and people in the tipis. We told him we wanted full refund on 1 tipi because my SIL would stay with us, and asked for a discount for the hassle of staying in his rv 1 night, then having to packup next morning and haul it all day until he decided where to put us. He told me he wouldn't discuss it until tomorrow. From here it evolved into an argument between both of us that ended with him throwing his truck in gear, saying he's not talking about it anymore, as he peeled out and threw gravel all over my truck as he left. I later texted him and Lori both and told them both we wanted to take the full refund on both Tipis that they offered. We have yet to receive a response, though messages have been read, and Daniel never came back to talk to us the next evening. So we packed 10 people in camper our 2 nights there and have not got our refunds yet.

We heard every conversation in the rooms around us- I mean we could hear EVERY WORD said in the room next door and they could hear us too! Every bump and noise from above. Absolutely horrible. Wifi was spotty and intermittent. Extremely overpriced! Only booked here because we couldn't find anything else available in St Mary. Now I know to just stay somewhere else- anywhere else. Drive an hour just to avoid the Red Eagle Motel. We were in Room #6. Would never ever come here again and wanted to warn others! Only nice thing was the location and the view.

Mis-matched towels so scratchy you might use them for sanding the next project in your woodshop and so thin that you might mistake them for Kleenex. Room featured a broken window screen so that all manner of bugs might visit. No housekeeping service. Little to no cell reception. Wi-fi that does not work in the rooms; it only works if you are directly in front of the office. No hair dryer provided. No bureau or other horizontal surface in the room to place anything. Low shower water pressure so you feel like you are being misted rather than showered with a temperature that only scores tolerable, certainly not warm. No ice available on site. No phones in the room. No air conditioning, only a rather loud fan that does little to cool the room. Surly front desk attendant who didn't bother to provide any information about the lack of housekeeping or the crappy wi-fi password upon check-in. One star for not having bed bugs, or at least none that were evident. Perhaps they should rename this establishment the "Dead Eagle Motel."

When we arrived at the campsite the ranger was very friendly and gave us helpful information about storing our food items and being sure to pack everything up as this area is prone to bears. The site itself was very private. Our particular campsite allowed the RV to be parked in front and was surrounded by trees so we felt as though we were in our own little camping world. The sites at the top of loop C offer an open field perfect for sunset watching or stargazing, but do not provide as much privacy. When planning your stay, be sure to note the shower locations. We were on the opposite end of the loop, and running to the showers in the brisk morning air was not a favorable option. Additionally, the visitors center is a little bit of a walk, but provides a shuttle to Logan Pass via "Going to the Sun Road". This was a great option for us, as our RV was not able to drive the road due to vehicle size restrictions. I would recommend the shuttle as it runs pretty frequently and parking can be scarce at the popular overlooks and trail heads. Overall, we enjoyed this campsite and look forward to coming back here!

The road off Hwy. 40 to Whispering Pines seems less than a quarter mile but it makes a huge difference in being able to feel like you're shrouded in rural bliss. It seems like the perfect central location to our primary interests of Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Kalispell, and Bigfork. We've stayed there for the summer season now for 3 years and also appreciate access to many many wonderful hiking trails. The two separate areas of sites in Whispering Pines RV Park (check out the map on the Web site) each pose great options depending on what you prefer: first accessable sites on the entry road are all sunny and surrounded by open fields, drive farther on the campground and choose a site in an area full of trees/shade that seems less open but so welcoming. Shade is what we ended up choosing in the hotter MT summer these days. Original owners were fabulous and new owners are even more so. We are treated like family for sure and I observed similar treatment and welcome for all guests new and repeat customers. My husband and I and our dog Steve will always choose Whispering Pines as our place to stay when we return every year.

Words of warning: activities with Algers, your wonderful guide, are not for the tame, but those with an adventurous spirit seeking some guidance from a backcountry expert. This is not safari, just time spent enjoying being alive in a beautiful place. My boyfriend and I chose to do a Jeep Tour with Blackfeet Outfits. Normally, I don't splurge on things I deem to be "touristy," as I hail from a resort town myself and am fairly comfortable outdoors. But, it was September, high bear season, a last minute trip and yadayadayada, so a jeep tour sounded safer. I am SO glad I didn't miss out on the Jeep Tour experience! Other than tranquil Glacier National Park, the time spent with Algers of Blackfeet Outfitters was the highlight of our Montana Excursion. I'm already looking forward to going back next year for fly-fishing, and renting one of the awesome cabins on the property. I saw some mixed reviews online of his lodging. I'm not sure where that stems from, although I assume it's because Babb isn't as glamorous as staying in the Park itself. It is however way more comfortable and a short drive to the Many Glaciers entrance of GNP. For those with RVs, he also has 17 hook ups on site. Best time ever.
