Had wife's SURPRISE 50th birthday at Eastwood and it was fantastic! Michael took care of the arrangements and made sure everything was setup day of. Boucher, the head waiter on the day the party, was cordial, helpful and made sure everything ran on time. The team with him served food drinks and kept everything moving. My wife had a great time and was genuinely surprised. We had about 60 guests and all enjoyed the food and the clean open room we were in. Another great event at Eastwood for my family. Celebrated a birthday party recently. The complimentary valet (please tip the staff) was smoothe. Little to no wait to get the vehicle. There were three events going on at once and you couldn't tell which is a good thing because that's how controlled the events were. Coat check complimentary (again tip the staff please). The food was delicious and we got containers to take to go. The bathrooms were best clean. The space is beautiful. The location is far from the train but there is a bus stop outside. It's Cookies 75th Birthday what a celebration. I haven't been at the Eastwood Manor since my brother and his wife Gail and Curtis got married. It's beautiful here. The music is great. They had some live entertainment now they have a DJ. The food is great. I just I just love it the food was amazing. They also give you containers to put your food in because it was so much food they had oxtails. They had macaroni and cheese. They had barbecue ribs. They had rice and beans they had gravy they had chicken. It was just amazing and the drinks were all free because it was a 75th birthday. We took a lot of pictures and the DJ is fabulous. read more

I attended a graduation party at this catering hall last night. I've never been there before so I read some of the yelp reviews out of curiosity. There are a lot of different opinions about this catering hall on here & I will share mine as a person who attended the party. I can't speak on the business office or the cost of the hall. First things first. They have valet parking which I thought there was a charge for so me being as cheap as I am at times I drove around for 20 minutes looking for parking before my husband called me and told me to use the valley because it was free. When I handed my car in the attendant was nice and polite. I will also say that I didn't realize one of my debit cards fell out of my purse in the car and when I picked my car up at the end of the night my debit card was right where I left it. It can either be because they didn't notice it or they did and just left it alone because they were honest. I'd rather believe the latter. Onto the actual facility. There are multiple different catering rooms and they are labeled properly but you have to go into different entrances to get to different rooms and it is quite confusing if you don't know what room your party is in. When I finally got to the room my party was in appetizers were on the table which were some quiche coconut shrimp and chicken wings. All good food no complaints. The main dishes however were so awesome! There was so much food and all tasted great. Our event had salmon, shrimp, ox tails, two types of rice, fruits and salad. You really couldn't ask for much more. The servers during the night so friendly and so helpful and I think one of them was trying to hit on me LOL. Whether he was or not they were all very nice to all the gas and a good time was had by all. If I had to throw an event what I consider this place, definitely. read more

I've been to this event hall twice (bday and retirement celebrations) and both times I had a great time. The venue was clean and nicely decorated in the rooms that we were celebrating. I did see other people celebrating and using different rooms or floors. The staff were pretty friendly and professional. I remember the food being tasty because you would remember some not so good food. I know they have valet parking and like any other venue, at the end of the celebration you have to wait a long time to obtain your vehicle. If I was in need of a venue in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to check this place out. read more

We had an incredible time at our 20th Anniversary Party. From the very beginning both Michael & Rich ensured that we had everything we wanted and needed. The room looked beautiful and was freshly painted for the new season. The food was simply outstanding! We had a variety of options and everything was delicious. My family and I hosted my Mothers 60th birthday bash here. She loved it the staff was great. The staff worked really hard to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. There were a few last min changes but in the end it all worked out perfect. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. A lot of my guest was very impressed with the food. Special thanks to the whole team for providing us with such a beautiful experience. Lastly I think the staff did a really great job managing so many different personalities. At the last minute we scheduled a Repass at Eastwood Manor Caterers with Michael. We came in on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 for Repass, Saturday, July 10, 2021. Michael assisted with the details and was able to accommodate my event to a quiet room away from an existing party. The food was excellent and our waiters, Mr. Smith and Baldor (excuse the spelling) attended to our every request and were extremely courteous and professional. So if you are looking for a venue go to, Eastwood is the place, for they are clean, courteous and tend to all the details. You will be extremely pleased with their service. I wish no starts could be a rating. I tried out for a cook position in this place hoping it would be a nice catering gig. I was wrong and wanted to throw up. Imagine paying a few thousand dollars to be served food that was par cooked a week ago. Nothing in that kitchen gets wrapped, labeled or dated. They can brag about their A from health inspection, but if I was the inspector they would've been closed down. Who pre fries fried food 6 hours ahead of an event to then fry it again? No food warmers which means the food just sits out. When I told two of the managers how disgusting I thought that kitchen was, they laughed. Must be super funny Mike and Richie. Charge people money to feed them crap. Good job people. read more

I was here for a birthday party, and I think the host chose a pretty decent venue for the location. There were other rooms being used the same night, but I couldn't hear any of the other parties from inside the hall in which we were placed. I liked the layout and thought it was pretty spacious and clean. I thought the lobby especially had some beautiful accents. I didn't use the bathroom, but I was told by someone who did that there were a few problems in there (e.g., the floor in the stall was completely wet, so she had to make sure her clothes didn't touch the floor). They might need to consider having a bathroom attendant that can keep up with the volume of people during their busier nights. The food was not great. The mac' n cheese was awful, the chicken was very dry, and the rice was hard. The yams were decent. I didn't eat much else since I don't eat red meat. After leaving Eastwood Manor, we went downtown to find some place to really eat. The host picked a great dj, and the music sounded really good in our room. The lighting and platform seating for the birthday girl were a great touch. She had a ball, and it looked as if everyone enjoyed themselves. The dancefloor was pretty big also. Parking is a huge problem, but Eastwood Manor provides valet. Please use it. While looking for parking myself, I watched someone try to parallel park into a tight spot across the street, and I noticed the corner of the back of his car was smushed into the front of someone else's car. If his bumper was made out of marshmallows, that wouldn't be much of a problem. There isn't much Eastwood Manor can do about the location, but that's even more of a reason why they need to make sure they are meeting standards inside. I would come here again if invited, but I don't think I would host an event there, unless some changes were made. read more

It took me one year to write this review. I thought it important to still share my experience. June 30, 2017, my son turned 16. It didn't take us long to decide, as the rooms were all beautiful & the Manager, Michael sold the packages very well!! We decided on the private room downstairs with the LED lights, private bathrooms, private suite for guest of honor and private waiting area. The area was under construction, but Michael's vision of the outcome had impressed us. We were SOLD!! As we're an African American/Puerto Rican Family, we chose OUR traditional meal. Pernil (pork), Mac & Cheese, Corn Bread, Plantains, etc. The day of the party, we noticed the LED lights weren't working, the bathrooms were dirty & had a FOUL smell, the private suite also had a musky Oder & had stored items in it, and the private waiting area was not upgraded as Michael had promised. We reviewed things with Michael & he quickly gave explanations & tended to the issues. He had the bathrooms cleaned, but Oder was still present (the airwick was not enough nor pretty), the items in the suite we had to remove ourselves at the last hour because staff NEVER did, the LED lights (the MAIN reason my son chose the location) DIDN'T get fix. Instead we were given floor lights, which got in the way of dancing & didn't have the same affect. In compensation for the lack of upgrade, we were given more time at the venue. Hind sight is 20/20.... We should've asked for a discount. The food was NOT good. The Pernil was steak NOT pork (like we wouldn't know the difference) the Mac & Cheese was STRAIGHT out of the box, Corn bread was dry & Plataños were hard. The bartender continued to leave the bar, so my guest found themselves serving themselves (I even have a pic of my guest serving). I was given extra food to take home. The 20+ teenagers that had spent the weekend with us were NOT interested in finishing any of it...& teenagers eat everything. The following week we spoke to Michael about our disappointment & too no surprise NOTHING was addressed, compensated nor offered (not even an apology). My son's LED Name light that we came to pick up was tampered with. As our guest my not have noticed nor complained about certain things & a good time was still had.... As the host we were DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

We just celebrated our son's first birthday last weekend at Eastwood Manor and we had a lovely time. We've been there throughout the years: our rehearsal dinner and a cousin's 50th/vow renewal most recently and keep coming back because the food and service are so amazing. Our guests always rave about the Caribbean food they serve. They are generous with the food. The Caribbean menu tastes like someone's auntie or grandma from the West Indies made it! The staff was wonderful, especially Robert. They met every request quickly and easily. Our experience with manager Michael Zelatis was exemplary. Earlier last week my mom was able to pick up some of my favorite dishes from Eastwood Manor because they are recently delivering their catered food. We were one of the first customers for delivery! Everything was packaged well and safely placed in the bags. My oxtails were so delicious and falling off the bone. My daughter enjoyed her mozzarella cheese sticks and the barbeque chicken. My mother devoured her chicken parmigiana and fresh string beans. I can not wait to order some other dishes in the coming weeks. I was here for my job's holiday party that was planned by my awesome co-worker and friend Andrea, who basically did it all by herself. Overall it was a great night! The drinks were strong and flowed plentifully, which helped obscure any flaws this catering hall might have had. We had a small room upstairs that had a pretty good sized dance floor, our own bathroom, and bartender. The wait staff was fine, the bartender was super sweet and made all the drinks we requested-which was a lot-and they brought out our plates and cleared them in a fine manner. The food was just ok-I liked the salad and the chicken, but the salmon was a bit dry. We had a big selection for our buffet but for some reason I didn't eat too much food. My sisters and I held our father's repass here. The place was freezing cold. The jerk chicken had no spice to it and the supposedly clean glasses had lipstick stains on it. But that wasn't the worst of it. While all of our family and friends was sitting, and eating together a waiter comes out of the kitchen and fills his plate with food and then goes back into the kitchen. This guy didn't even wait until we were finished. He did it all in front of us as though he was entitled to it. Now the last time I loioked we wrote the check for that food and the hall. How dare he do that. After my sister told the manager he had the rude, entitled guy come out and give us a very weak apology and offered us cheap ass wine. It ruined the repass. Was here the other night for the New York Dominican Officers Organization Annual Dinner Dance. The happy hour was very good. Roast chicken, sliced steak, pernil, tostones, pasta, fruit. All fresh. All good. The drinks were made strong, cold and fast. Dinner was the standard choice of chicken, beef or fish with veggies. My only complaint is that the bus boys were tardy clearing the used plates and glasses. They were serving courses before the table was cleared. Otherwise, a okay. read more

The food is horrendous. Staff clueless and ballroom poorly designed. I had the steak. It was terribly oily and came on a plate smothered in grease (yes the plate was covered in oil and grease). The potatoes were burned and some of were inconsistent (some plates had spices some didn't). The staff consists of young men that do this on the side to finish school, make ends meet etc. we had to ask for steak knives after we got our steaks, and our tables were an unkept mess. They're otherwise very polite though. As for the ballroom, a bit snug. There are pillars all over the place preventing anyone from seeing what's going on down with ought crowding the event (our DJ had to ask multiple times for the people to clear the area for the bride, groom and party, but the patrons couldn't see anything from where they were sitting, so they crowded the dance floor). The neighborhood is another problem. You can dance the night away in the ballroom and then pick up some stolen hub caps from the chop shop around the corner. So I guess that's a positive. I do explicitly remember people selling drugs right outside of this place when I came here as a kid man years ago. I didn't see that this time, but not much has changed in the area. Overall the place is probably the worst place you can book an event. I don't recommend it. There's nothing good about it. read more

The Eastwood Manor is a very elegant place to host a reception or black tie event. The decor is very regal and the staff is very accommodating. The service of the staff and the food that was prepared by the chef was amazing.The cuisine was a variety of soul food and West Indian dishes that were delicious. Everything was great from the yams, ox tails, jerk chicken, collard greens, mussels etc. The dance floor was spacious and after eating our meal we danced the night away.
