We hosted a welcome party here for our wedding on 11/1/19. The service was incredible! So much more than we expected, especially considering that you don't have to pay to book the space. We worked with Ryan to figure out which bar would be the best space for our guest count (about 100). Easy Bar scheduled a time for us to come see the space, they answered all of our questions then gave us a free drink. Ryan was super responsive to emails throughout the planning - and worked with us to come up with a drink menu within our budget. On the night of Easy Bar staff were so kind and attentive - they asked us about music volume and lighting, gave us updates on the tab amount, and continuously checked in to make sure everything was ok. We had a great party and everyone loved the bar/space. Highly recommend! read more

Perfect place to kill some time while waiting for your table at Sushi Taku. I tried the Dormouse (green tea infused Captain Morgan white rum, lime, pineapple) and it hit the spot. I was only here for a few hours a bit early on a Sat nite, but I liked the place. The decor was chic with a soothing vibe and comfy couches. Some friends said the drinks at the back bar were kind of weak (they were operating on the $30 wristbands for a private party), but my drink from the front bar was nicely and unexpectedly strong (and a reasonable $6 for a whiskey and diet). What really made the place for me (besides the great people I was with) was the music....a great mix of different genres, and a lot of oldies I hadn't heard in forever (e.g. Spill the Wine) and really grooved on. I like the atmosphere and location. This is the type of place where I would love to spend a few hours if I was going out on the town with my girlfriends or grabbing a quick drink with my boyfriend. My only experience so far was for a pre organized birthday party where the entire back area of the bar was set aside for the party. I will definitely be back for another go around. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get laid going here given it's title, but there isn't a damn thing that's complicated about Easy Bar. It's an incredibly chill spot with cheap beers, a pool table, and laid back bartenders. Typically quite during the week, it attracts a lower key clientele so if you want to catch up with a buddy you haven't seen in awhile or do a first date drink it's a great option. That was easy. This place is kind of like one big easy button, sometimes the other places in the area are in between identities or are just completely sucking at the given time for whatever reason. I can expect an averagely good time if not better here. Getting a drink that wasn't weak. Check (Greyhounds from this place are my new favorite thing). Came here last night with some friends, sat at a table and enjoyed those $2 drafts. The $2 special covers most if not all of the tap beer available, and there's a decent selection including a couple Goose Island beers, Three Floyds, Fat Tire, Stella, and Harp, among others. Service was friendly and quick, and it seems like the clientele is less douche-y in the beginning of the week. I'd come back on a Tuesday, but not any other day. read more

So, here's the situation...(no, my parents didn't go away on a week's vacation)...I had about ten people who had walked from Chicago Avenue and Noble to Division and Wood. We were thirsty. Needed to get the drinkin' party started. And then we see Easy Bar. So easy, right? Good choice, for sure. Drinks were reasonably-priced (although now I see the Tuesday night special, I'll have to go back on a Tuesday night) and bonus points for the Three Floyds, yum, we were able to snag a table right by the bar after a couple who looked to be on a horrific date departed (sorry, kids) and get those drinks in us. Party back on. I dig the ambiance: Red walls, cool ceiling fans, good lighting. The bar tender was friendly, the people in the bar seemed laid back and chill. Easy Bar has a decent patio... had beers on it last night - $2 pints of a large variety of beers, including Fat Tire and Blue Moon - my favorites. Not bad! The service wasn't exactly superb and the food was hit. DO NOT EAT HERE. Seriously there are like 4 options on the menu and then a variety of fried crap. But overall this was a good spot to sit outside on a beautiful evening and enjoy a few beers. The entertainment of the night was watching a completely wasted girl on the patio of Vintage Winebar next door completely wipe out into another table, then stumble out onto the sidewalk and become combative with several pedestrians until one guy just pushed her out of the way... she then proceeded down the sidewalk falling several more times before stepping out into traffic in an attempt to apparently hitchhike, before her very pissed off friend reeled her back in and finally got her into a cab. This has nothing to do with Easy Bar or my experience there but it was damn entertaining. I mean, I guess we've all been that girl before... but not at 8:15 on a Tuesday evening! read more

Monday and Tuesdays here are FANTASTIC! I started as a loyal Tuesday goer- I feel like I'm ripping them off drinking all of their beer at only $2 a pint....and then I discovered MONDAYS! Why this place was so empty I don't know......the $5 burger was fantastic! Nothing crazy or edgy- just exactly what you want when you've had a long day at work and you feel like saying "fuck my brown rice and vegetables- I'm eating a cheeseburger at a bar for dinner". The Monday bartender is great too- he really made an effort to connect with us while we were there even though i think he had some friends at the other end of the bar. But back to Tuesdays......lounging in the back on the couches, drinking gumballhead and 312 and Smithwicks with nothing but change from groceries in my pocket makes me now look at Terrible Tuesday in an entirely different way. The service is always great- we have the same cocktail waitress each week and she is always quick to fill an empty glass. I just realized.....TODAY IS TUESDAY! read more

Maybe it was just the night I was there, but... I HATED THIS PLACE. This bar had the most god awful service. First I waited 25 minutes to order. Then I got a weak drink. Deciding to make my way through the pack of drunks back to my friends, I figured I would have better luck ordering from the bitchy cocktail waitress. BIG. MISTAKE. She brought back my drink and I still had about 1/3 left of my first. So I put it down to get the money to tip the unfortunate girl, and how does she thank me for my overly generous tip? Hmmm? Oh, she swiped the remnants of my first barely-alcohol-infused cocktail! Thanks a ton. So I was eager to drink up and enjoy my drink.... WHICH WASN'T WHAT I ORDERED. So I sipped on it and when she came back she pointed at my drink and I nodded that I indeed would need one or 17 more to get over my irritation, but she ran away before I could tell her she messed up. She came back with the right drink this time, but when I told her about her obvious first blunder, she looked at me like I had shingles and said "OH. Well, it'll be $6.50." Thanks for trying to fix it. Jerk. On a positive note, awesome music, loved the fans at the front, the bouncers all seemed really cool. Not sure I'm a fan of candles in the fireplace. I may go back. I may not. But not when it's that crowded. It's impossible to appreciate and leaves you with very little options in terms of service. You take what you can get. read more

Okay, so I'm not the biggest fan of douchey Lincoln Park bars, but those who feel so high and mighty about living in Wicker Park need to rub the crap out of their eyes and see what it's really turning into. Full of clones.. bars and people that is. There are still a few unique places around, but places like Easy Bar show how generic and boring Wicker Park is getting to be. There was really nothing redeeming about this bar. It was pretty cramped, our drinks were watered down, the cocktail waitress was rude and refused to bring one of us water, and she grabbed my friend's half-full drink off the table when she went to the bathroom. I think it's so strange that the owners here are the same as Alive One, which is a MUCH cooler place. Hurry and get to Logan Square before it turns into the next overpriced, stuck up WP. read more

Where the livin' is easy.... Great little place. It's a dive bar, so don't expect caviar. But the staff is incredibly friendly, the crowd is generally laid-back, and they have really good specials during the week. If you ever need to rent a party room (I've done this here twice), they actually don't charge for the room, and let you bring in outside food, which is unheard of. All you have to do is have your guests purchase a wristband (which was $20 bucks for 3 hours of unlimited beer and wine) or pay for that yourself, which would still be cheaper than renting a party room in most other bars in the city. Great customer service by the manager for events as well, they let me hang decorations and everything. As far as the rest of the bar, they have a good selection of craft beer and cocktails, and a menu of "bar food" which is tastier than you'd expect from a small place like this, and also really affordable. There are burger specials during the week as well. They have the standard accoutrement of any other dive bar - pool table, dart board, jukebox, dark back room, retro '50's style bartender. Okay, where to start? The bartender that couldn't be bothered with us or the sign that says, "SLICK TACO." Friday Happy Hour here is awful. I don't know which is worse: the tall blonde woman who made a bothered face every time I asked for a drink OR the male bartender that just had no idea there's a maraschino cherry in an old fashioned. Came here on Saturday night for my BFF's 30th birthday party. It was a private party, open bar $30 for 3 hours. Pretty good bargain for the party go-ers. They did a good job at keeping regular bar patrons out in the front of the bar until 11:30 when the party was up. I loved the back of the bar. It was dark (little too dark), cozy and intimate. It was perfect for mingling near the bar or off to the side in the booths. Great music selection too! Our bartender and server were friendly and attentive. So, I like whiskey, and sometimes on the rocks. Well, apparently there is a $2 charge for "Rocks" because they pour more. Shenanigans. I guess they are just trying to be hip. It's unfortunate as the bar is ok place to hang out...but...that's the first place I've been in Chicago where I've seen the charge. And if you are going to charge, it better be a high-end bar. The pool table in the front gets a lot of action and usually you'll find a laid back crowd around the table, especially on weekdays. This is a great watering hole in the Wicker Park Neighborhood. It attracts a different crowd than some of the other area establishments (read: less douchey) and is just super chill. It doesn't seem to get overly packed even on weekends. The music is great, beers are cheap, and you can actually carry on a conversation with your drinking buddies. I did find that the last time I came here there was a smell that hit you that when you walk in that I likened to a porta-john, but alas it didn't deter me and I didn't notice it throughout the evening. Obviously this isn't the classiest joint on the block but that's exactly why I like it. read more

The vibe is chill, the people are actually friendly, and the music is great (although every time I've been there someone's been DJing so I can't vouch for the jukebox, but based on the staff I can't imagine it's carrying many duds on its playlist.) The bustle and the boom of Wicker Park found itself in Easy Bar even at closing time. There were people still rocking a line for the pool table, I ordered myself a Stella while a friend sported a Red Bull vodka. The bar did have some popped collared gentlemen, better behaved than their Wrigleyville and Lincoln Park cousins. I ran into a random conversation as one guy declared that he would build a beer bong the next day. Having built a beer bong the previous week, I gave the five minute rundown on proper beer bong construction. Two and a half feet of thick plastic tubing, a ball valve at the bottom, a funnel from an auto shop, and two clamps would do the trick. If the random yuppy listened, he would come out with a seven drink beer bong!!!! read more

A lot of people say don't come here when it's packed, however I've been here many times and have never seen this place overly crowded. It's possibly because I've never been here on a weekend night! Anyway, the bar is really chill most weekdays, the bartenders are super friendly, there's always good music playing and the crowd from what I've experienced are all good people. A great place to stop in with a date or to relax with a few friends. Maybe I'll try stopping in on a sat night. We'll see how that goes. read more

Finally made it over here last night (Sunday). Pretty mellow (but not empty). Music was pretty f'ing loud (but good tracks). Tim M and I were sitting at the bar and I could barely conversate (so much for using our inside voices).Well drinks weren't strong enough (for $5 I want to taste that booze). So a short story....when I first moved out here (10/10) this bar was one of the first bars I hit up and from memory I thought it was pretty chill. Last night a few of my guys and I were debating on where we should hit up first on Division so I said this place (dont really party on Division for some reason). So glad I did because Tuesday night....$2 drafts....yes!!!! Me and my boys drinked, dranked, drunk ha ha. The music was pretty cool and the back was a lot more loungy with a fireplace. And you deserve 4 stars (maybe even 4.5) - Here's why: I love your easy location - I can walk there or just shout "Division and Damen" to the cabby who picks me up - even while in a drunken stupor. I love your easy (non-internet) jukebox - Seriously, have you perused this thing? Pretty good stuff in there. Not perfect, but in the neighborhood - makes me wanna dump some cash in and jam. I love your easy drinks - The drinks are strong. Jameson drinks always $4 - SOLD. Plus I often get the hookup. And check out the drink specials sometime. I love your easy (on the eyes) women - Try going in here one weekend and tell me there aren't any attractive girls. I love your easy layout - standard bar in front, lounge/dance floor in back with plenty of places to sit. Plus a pool table. Works for me. And most of all, I love your easy bartenders - Note: It's often easier to get a drink at the back bar. P.S. as a side note: Have you ever bought your bartender a drink before? It's a nice gesture and it works wonders with you getting noticed in the future. Lastly: The walk home, which offers two options for Mexican food: Picante (mmmm... steak torta with black beans and avocado...) or La Pasadita (mmmm .... everything...). A fine Tuesday night destination indeed. $2 taps and I don't have to feel old, like at Estelle's. The staff has always be great and the crowd has no specific feel to it. If the sun has set and I'm riding down Division, I'll usually have a hard time passing Easy Bar without at least poking in for one beer while wandering around to see who I might know. Though I was a little disappointed by the change from oversized lampshades to mini sized, I'll no longer be one of the many that regularly slams my head into them when standing. read more

I was going to give Easy Bar 1 star but when I got I was so tired. I had been at MayFest all day drinking, dancing, eating and standing for 7 hours. Further, the birthday girl I went to meet up with was not feeling well so the vibe was blah. When I walked in, the design was nothing special at first. Pool table, long bar on the left side, bar tables and stools on the right side. Once you pass the bar there, is a lounge-ish area in the back which differentiates itself from other typical bars. It was dark and crowded and the people there weren't very friendly - in the sense that when I was looking for my friends, they would let me walk by. I found my friends and the bartender was very nice and recommended the portabella fries. They are sliced, breaded, fried and delicious. But sadly I wish I had some Imodium on me. read more

I came here for a party and the nice thing is that we had the whole back sectioned off for us - comfy couches and definitely enough space for everyone to move around comfortably and chill. They had a decent bar package - $30 for 3 hours of open bar - top shelf liquor. The bartender was really great - she would almost bump this place up to four stars - great service, attentive and strong drinks - just the way that I like them! I just made my first trip to Easy Bar this last weekend, and I will definitely be coming back. I dropped by on Friday night for a friend's birthday party, and was surprised at how busy the bar managed to be while still allowing plenty of room for movement. I was told that this bar was run by people formerly associated with Estelle's in Wicker Park, and you can see that influence in a good way. Easy Bar is a little nicer and cleaner than Estelle's, but still has a bit of that rock and roll attitude, as well as a killer juke box. Now down to the serious stuff. Drink prices were average, and the bartenders are some of the friendliest that I have come across. The wide open spaces and trendy looking black leather couches allow you to dance your ass off and then have a place to retreat to for rest and a couple drinks. The bathrooms were clean and the air in the bar was well circulated. Perhaps the most noticible difference between Estelle's and Easy Bar, besides the size, is the smokiness, or lack there of, at Easy Bar. With flaps from the ceiling keeping the air moving and lots of ceiling fans it was nearly impossible to find a cloud of smoke, and there were plenty of people smoking. There really isn't anything bad I can say about this bar. I'm already looking forward to my next birthday, because I'm planning it out here. read more
