I am very happy with my entire shipping process. The budget they provided seemed high, but then the actual quote and then transaction were more than fair and reasonable. They shipped a car for me from the Washington, DC area to Orange County, California. The car was not only picked-up within an hour of the window provided but this thing must have driven non-stop across the country! The shipping time they provided seemed pretty aggressive but they stuck to it. They provided timely updates on the day of delivery and notice in the hours leading up to actual delivery. Delivery was made at the beginning of the delivery window and the car was exactly as they picked it up. They do broker the actual trucking, so props to this driver. David answered my call after hours on a Saturday and booked me a tow from SoCal to the Bay Area two days later for my SUV with a bad transmission. Super cheap price and great customer service. Easy payment plan as well. Driver was also very responsive to my calls and always answered when I would call to get an eta. RULE #1 ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO GET AN EMAIL WITH THE QUOTE THEY GIVE YOU. David is a SCAM artist. He initially provided a quote of $1,300 for transporting my car, but when I requested an email confirmation of the quote, I never received it. Lucky me, I documented details from our conversation (I do this everytime I'm talking about money especially when its a large amount). I had written down the quoted amount of $1,300. When the time came to ship my car, David asked me, "do you remember what I quoted you" I said of course I do, I have it written down, $1,300. He said, "I don't think I quoted you that, that doesn't sound like a number I would say". He proceeded to say, "That was way too low of a number to ship my car from LA to New Jersey" Thankfully I reached out to multiple car shipping companies and had numerous of other quotes who quoted me THE SAME PRICE. Is this even a legit business? I have inquired with them 2 months ahead to prepare for my move but had little to no communication with them. Not sure how they have things organized, but I had to constantly reach out to finally get a hold of David weeks later. When I finally got to speak with him, he advised that I would get a call 10 days prior to my set day for a follow up. No call, so here I am trying to follow up again. He also advised that the pricing may be different from the what should have been my locked in price that I booked with. I would rate 5 stars but I ended up paying an extra $100 dollars over my quoted price even the receipt is $100 less than what I ended up paying. I think it was just a clerical error or a mix up between the company and driver. When I complained I was advised that the trucking company would call me to offer compensation for the delay. Of course they never called. State2State is just a middle man. My car made it from the midwest to the west coast in 3 days, which was pretty impressive considering United Auto Transport told me it would be between 5 - 15 days before delivery. The price was 18% cheaper than United's cost with a tighter window for delivery. The driver arrived early to pick up my car on a Saturday morning and by Monday night it was being dropped off 1400 miles away. David is great about communication via phone and email. The drivers are all subcontracted, so you never know what you're going to get there; and mine spoke English just barely well enough to arrange drop off and pick up logistics (this is the only thing preventing me from rating my experience 5-stars), but it worked out just fine. read more
