We were not initially quoted for a 2nd truck but we were also not charged extra for it based on our agreed-upon hourly rate, so it was much appreciated! They assembled and placed my furniture exactly where I wanted, and nothing was damaged in the move. This really should have been a two day job, the crew and we were exhausted by the end of the day. I'm not really upset about the cost difference because I knew what their hourly rate was. The crew really wanted to get it all wrapped up for us by the end of the day instead of stretching to another day because they had another job the next day bright and early. The booking office is really putting their workers through the wringer and I don't appreciate that. The crew was kind and delicate with our items. They were being gracious and offering to do whatever we wanted with regards to helping pack remaining items, disassembling and reassembling furniture, and organizing things at the new house. I may have taken note of their time for these things if it hadn't been clear by noon that this was going to already be a very long day. By 10pm I was just happy to have everything remaining that we own in the garage. So I did enjoy the crew, but if you go with this company and have a lot of stuff then you need to do some legwork yourself to get an accurate estimate. I had a three bedroom 1700 sqft house with a large basement and garage and it took 15 hours and cost $4k.

We moved a 3 floor townhouse worth of big ticket furniture, boxes, and other odds and ends (such as an elliptical machine) near New Hampshire, to a 3 floor house in Boston. The quoting process and their inventory system process was a breeze to use, which helped them facilite the correct sized moving truck to be used. They were very accommodating with our moving period/schedule. The communication was very clear and concise, with very prompt responses via email whenever we had a question or concern. We honestly set it, and forget it until moving day arrived. The day before moving day, we received the timeframe window the movers would come. Day of the move, the truck and three movers came. They went over the cost breakdown with us again, so that there were no surprises for us (there were none!). We gave them a quick walk-through of our place and what was moving. They formulated their moving plan, and how they'd load the moving truck, and quickly packed up and moved everything into the truck. The movers wrapped up all the big ticket furniture in blankets and taped it to avoid any dents/damage. They were also very polite, and asked for permission, when they needed a quick break (3 flights of stairs is a lot of work!). Once they we done, they drove over to Boston for the unload process. Again, they were very quick and efficient. We went through a walkthrough in the Boston house, for them to formulate what would go where, and off to the races they went. Some of the big ticket items (Queen size beds w/ headboards, antique hutches, dressers), I had concerns about fitting into bending stairways... they were able to alleviate. We had a large L shaped couch, they removed (and later put back on) the legs, and were able to navigate the tight turns going up stairs to make it fit! Once they were done with the move, they went over the cost breakdown one more time before payment (again no surprises from our end with it). I would highly recommend M&M Moving. Everyone we interacted with from their end, during this moving process, was very professional, nice, courteous, and efficient.

I had a detailed call with them, received a quote, and booked. On moving day, I clearly explained twice which items were being moved and which belonged to my roommate or were staying with me. Despite this, the movers began loading items I had specifically said were not going, including a suitcase I was actively packing and, more concerningly, my backpack containing my work laptop, license, and work ID. They eventually found the backpack, but it created unnecessary stress on an already stressful day. After about an hour, Octopus called to say they needed to send a third mover because I had more items than expected. While I did have a few small items I had forgotten to mention, I had also gotten rid of a large piece of furniture I had originally discussed with them. The additional mover and the extremely slow pace caused my final bill to be about twice my quoted price. I would have understood paying somewhat more, but genuinely twice the cost was a major surprise. I contacted management afterward and had a polite exchange. They provided a small refund, but much of the conversation focused on how I should have sent photos of my belongings for a more accurate quote. I understand that photos can help, but I booked while still packing and expected the estimate to be reasonably close. The second move-in went more smoothly, but some of my furniture was damaged. When I pointed out blue discoloration on my dresser, I was told it was likely due to the rain on moving day. Given that the furniture was wrapped in blankets and plastic, I found that explanation difficult to believe. The mover offered to repaint it, but after a few days, he said that they wouldn't be able to match the paint color. My biggest issue was that the movers struggled to follow basic instructions about what was and wasn't being moved. I understand that mistakes happen during a move, but this caused a lot of avoidable stress, added cost, and damaged belongings. I rarely write negative reviews, but I would not recommend this company.

If moving is a stressful event, these are the guys you want pulling into your driveway. HUGE smiles, greetings, friendly! All put me at ease immediately, and we began the process. Sam explained all the billing to me, and we headed into and around the house to tour all the furniture and boxes they were to load up and move away. From the first second (NOT an exaggeration), they dove in, and boxes were being moved in almost a seamless fashion. A bit over an hour later (maybe closer to an hour and a half), they were on their way. They arrived - again - all smiles, checking in with me: how was I doing? And we toured the new house and explained where everything would go. They hustled, delivering boxes and furniture to all the designated rooms. They asked questions if they were unsure. AND for me, probably one of the biggest, most helpful moments, we negotiated for them to assemble my youngest's bed. I could not have done it. They worked tirelessly (well, maybe they were tired - but their assurances and smiles belied any weariness or frustration) and assembled the most complicated bed I have ever seen! Pick up was fine , but I was very confused . 1) the pick up truck was a massive 18 wheeler that this company must've contracted out. Nowhere did it say "Poseidon moving" . 2) the men who helped load the trucks were from "Hidalgo movers" again nowhere did it say they were from Poseidon moving 3) once I got the keys to my apt, and spoke to my landlord about that big 18 wheeler coming by, he said absolutely not. So I informed the company the day before " hey yall can't bring that 18 wheeeler in you will have to transfer my items into a smaller moving truck" . They said they understood , however the day of the move I see the 18 wheeler at the entrance of the apartment complex blocking the entrance . It was extremely embarrassing. Then some two dudes come by in a ford truck and trailer . With plates from Alabama . Again I have no idea who they were , they didn't have any Poseidon moving logos. Furthermore they asked for water?! And I had none obviously . 4) my boxes came in smashed, and I'm somehow missing two items that I literally saw them load in the truck : my piano stand and my towel rack. I'm not sure how these items could've gotten lost if my items were never transferred out of that initial 18 wheeler.
