It's rare that we have to go to the doctor outside of our annual vaccination visits, but as my kids are aging, it's important to get periodic checkups. After looking at reviews from nearby locations, we decided to give above and beyond a try. We brought Phoebe in for a split toenail that started bleeding a little bit. They took of care of her, and got her fixed up quickly. No fuss. Dalé (Dahl-ay) went in for a suspicious scab on her chin and an old dog checkup. And she came back with perfect test results and no lasting issues. At 13 my girl is doing fantastic. Throughout our visits, the staff have been fantastic from the front desk to the technicians to the veterinarians. Everyone has been very welcoming. The dogs have been very comfortable and everything was done with such great care. In addition to bail triage we've had shots, fine needle aspirations, and urine tests. There wasn't so much as a whimper out of them. Treats and cheese make them compliant. As we were going through questions and treatment options and things like that that we discussed cost so nothing was surprising as it came through. Very appreciative of the time taken to teach and understand everything. Highly recommend this practice. Check them out.

They did bloodwork and x-rays and gave her medicine for a slightly enlarged liver. I feel like I should've waited a few days because she was eating and drinking normally. Anyway, I know vets are expensive, but, there has to be a better way. It was tough walking out of there, knowing nothing was wrong with her after handing over that kind of money. Anyway, they are good vets, my sister loves them and they have taken good care of her dogs.

Dr. Evans and his staff are always kind, informative and caring, and don't automatically recommend…read moremultiple hundreds or even thousands of dollars of tests that run up your bill for no good reason, unless of course such a test is justified or you request a particular test, in which case they can oblige, but will tell you if they think it isn't needed. All of my dogs have been exceptionally cared for by Dr. Evans and his assistants and they have fit them in to be seen many times on short to no notice. Dr. Evans is a Texas A&M vet of the highest standard with very expansive experience in the real world and conditions out here in more rural ag/ranching Texas. He most recently did surgery to remove a growth on my Blue Heeler's muzzle, who had a previous history of mast cell tumors being surgically removed with intermediate class II pathology results of malignancy on his torso, but he didn't order a litany of expensive overnighted tests for an eight year old dog, even though Blue Heelers tend to be longer lived dogs than most their size. He also removed a large skin tag from his leg at the same time since he was already going to have him under general anesthesia and didn't even charge for that. The cost was $300 in total. The prior surgery for my Blue Heeler with another Alvin vet clinic on Hwy 35 was over $3500, and they tried to charge me for some supplements off of their own pharma website that were over 300x the price of what they were available for on Amazon, but they told me they were the only place those supplements could be purchased. REALLY? They had to make that extra gouge in profit after I had just had to dip into my retirement savings to pay the lab and surgery bill? My dog didn't even need those supplements and wouldn't eat them anyway. One of the owner vets also verbally berated me on my dog's check-up visit. She blamed me for putting a sterile cotton gauze bandage on the surgical incision as being the cause for having to re-sutured part of the incision at the edge and she is had me shaking and in tears, and I'm not one who easily brought to tears. I have many years of owning dogs and horses and caring for wounds. She wasn't even there when the surgery was done and wasn't there when the post-op instructions were given, which instructed me to protect the suture. Never again will I ever cross that vet clinic's door. I trust Dr. Evans completely. And BTW, my Blue Heeler's surgery on his muzzle and his skin tag on his leg went off without a single hitch, it healed well within a week and it's been over 8 months since then and you can't even feel or see where the sutures were, let alone there being no sign of recurrence of the tumor. You cannot even tell it was ever there. I highly recommend Dr. Evans and his staff for being extremely competent and having the highest standards of honesty and ethics. Those are very valued traits always, but especially in these days of "private equity" vet clinic takeovers by investors who care nothing about our pets or our ability to pay exorbitant prices for the care needed by our beloved animal family members.

I hired Kayci to care for our dogs and fish while my husband and I were out of town for a week…read more I wish I never had. In preparation for our upcoming trip -I met with Kayci three times. The first time with Kayci and her wife, the second at the dog park so she could observe the routine, and again before we left where I reviewed the dogs and fish' feeding and care instructions. Our pups are on a schedule to be walked and fed every morning before 9:00 AM. Kayci assured us this would not be a problem. She also assured us that there would be no issues and she had everything under control. I had offered to more than double her normal fee (1000.00 for the 6 days) - hoping that it would be an incentive for her to keep everything in control. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation, turned out to be the pet sitter from hell. During out 6 day trip - Kayci sent no less than 75 text messages. Minimally 39 of them were erroneous, inappropriate or argumentative. I have included several in this review. We had barely begun our vacation, when we received a text from Kayci, "I hate to bother yall but I was wondering if I could possibly borrow and then wash a pair of some shorts". Later she would text, "Seems like the boys poop is a little runny these past few days" - and she wanted to change their diets. Although I didn't think changing their diets while I was out of town was necessary or a good idea - Kayci was having none of it. Rather than tell me in any of our previous face to face meetings, Kayci decided this was a good time to tell me that I don't know how to feed my dogs and I am feeding them wrong - (I have raised dogs longer than Kayci has been alive) She then wouldn't tell me what time she was walking them unless I stopped my vacation and called her. Which I did. I tried to give her the instructions from the vet - and ask her what time she was taking them out in the morning - (If the dogs go too long without a walk they end up with soft stools) At this point, my husband was clearly upset and was ready to kaibash our vacation and head home. Our stress levels were insane. After hours of Kayci's BS - she finally texted, "The dogs do not have diarrhea, just soft stool . . . .My wife specializes in nutrition for pets" She wanted to sell us her nutrition services. All this drama for a sales pitch - All I could respond was, "Lets talk about it when we get home". The last thing I wanted to do was see Kayci get any further unhinged. I had made calls after Kayci wanted to wear my clothes to another dogsitter and hired one -to keep an eye on Kayci and Clearwater Aquatics/Pawsitive Pets. It was the only way to salvage our vacation. On Saturday, I asked her if she would please walk the dogs early the next morning. I was hoping she could keep them on their schedule. I was told by Kayci, "Unfortunately not. I have a dr appointment." I thought it was strange she would have a Doctors appointment on Sunday morning at 7:30 - especially since she had taken the job to sit our dogs and fish several months prior - I asked if she could either reschedule, or come before her appointment. To which I was told, "No mam, that's not how this is goin to go" I could go on for pages, but I invite you to read the text messages - We were guaranteed a professional and stress free experience with Kayci and her wife and their companies, Clearwater Aquatics and Pawsitive Pets - It was as if Kayci intentionally sabotaged our vacation -- When we returned home, Kayci called the following morning. She requested that we pay her the remaining balance BEFORE she would return our house key - I told her to keep it - Were were changing locks after this experience. Then her wife called - she wanted to continue on the line that she and Kayci knew better than I did how to care for my dogs. I explained I have raised dogs/fish longer than she has been alive - She was adamant that she knew more than both myself and my vet - I probably wasn't very nice to her when I explained why they were not getting the second payment. Bottom line -AVOID THESE TWO DRAMA QUEENS. It is not worth the stress and angst they cause - They don't adhere to agreements they are unreliable dishonest and unprofessional - I regret ever trusting these with my animals. This morning, my family had to say goodbye to our elderly, loving German Shepherd, Pi, whom we recently discovered had hemangiosarcoma, a fatal cancer. Leading up to the appointment, Dr. Ong was easily accessible for the initial booking and questions, even when we vacillated on whether to go through with the appointment at all. You simply can't beat having such privacy and intimacy during your pet's final moments at home.
