My family has been going to this vet clinic for years, decades, and we are extremely disappointed and saddened by the increase in price for a basic appointment. Previously, they charged $40 to be seen, and recently have almost doubled their price to $75. We've taken five dogs and two cats here over the past 15ish years, and had two dogs pass away in this facility. The staff is all wonderful and caring, but this doubling in price and rate higher than all vets in the area has left us moving to a new vet unfortunately. It is truthfully heartbreaking in a way, but ultimately disappointing. I truly hope the staff is getting paid generously in the wake of this insane price hike. We are sorry to move our business and pets, and hope someday this facility will return to standard veterinary rates. read more

DONT TRUST THIS VET. Ink went in for a simple surgery for his bladder. And, died two days later because they didn't do it right. They lied and said he was good to go home and his bladder erupted. He spent his last days suffering. He was truly loved, and will be deeply missed. What this vet did is truly heartbreaking especially to INKS PARENTS. my chihuahua is almost 15. this weekend he had a hot spot he kept scratching and biting and turned into an area of a hairless sore. they took him right in with a phone call and I waited less than 5 minutes. he was treated and sent home. informative visit and now he is napping in his bed. they are so good with him and we all know what vicious little things a chihuahua can be. with other vets they muzzled him. here they never have and know how to handle him with care and he basically behaves for them. this is. not his first visit here. we have stuck with them based how they treat my little rat dog with good care and the great staff and his well being is always first read more

They're money hungry and do not care for animals AT ALL. Our dog had a common obstruction in the abdomen surgery was doing a bit better then about a week we find him not breathing it was too late our baby was gone. We went up there the morning it happen rude lady upfront didn't care wasn't answering any of our questions instead said "it's gonna be 900$ if you want to find out why he died" like wtf??? We Just payed A THOUSAND for surgery not even a whole week and our baby's just gone out of no where!! NO ANSWERS, NO REFUND was given to us just heartache that our beloved dog is gone . Don't take your baby here! I took my dog here to get neutered and three days after he started having blood in his stool. It happened to be time for his yearly annual check up so I took him to my vet to get checked out for worms and everything was normal, All his test came out great and negative so it was from getting neutered. I called this place back, and they it was him being stressed out and charged me more for anabiotic's. I took him here because it was cheaper. I should've just stayed at my vet and paid more. That's what I get for trying to be cheap. Coming to find out it's due to dirty instruments but they already put the cause was "stress". Listen to me and don't take your baby here. Who gives antibiotics for stress? I had my vet and another vet tell me the same thing. It's due to dirty instruments not being washed and sanitized. read more

I recently visited this clinic and took my two dogs for routine check ups. I was hesitant at first because of the "reviews" here on Yelp. To my surprise, EVERYONE and EVERYTHING was literally the best experience I've had at any Vet clinic...period! The front desk people were actually nice and actually seemed like they wanted to work there....they smiled! Go figure! I had a minimal wait time for my appointment, then entered Dr. Nester. Because of her kind demeanor and the way she treated me and my dogs, I was put at ease and instantly knew this clinic was for me. She spoke openly, honestly, and kindly about keeping my dogs at their best. It might be a little bit of a drive for some, but worth the overall experience! read more

My pet has been going there since he was 6 months old and although we live a little fitter away I don't mind making the drive. I tell everyone I know that had a pet about this vet clinic. Our dog died from heart worms, we always knew it was a possibility since we found out( the vet tech said she would survive it) However, when we went to treat her they didn't explain anything or how to give her the medicine. we had to call how to take it and they just said one of each twice a day, not explaining she had to take it with food. They try to get your dog in and out. we called because she wasn't acting her normal happy self but instead she was having trouble breathing, i called at 11 and they wanted to take her in at 4. not caring that she was having trouble breathing, not caring that she was on the verge of death so my husband went ahead and took her in. little did we know she would pass not even 24 hours later. The one thing that hurt the worst is that i had to watch my husband run to her dead body and this vet realized what was wrong with her. I will never in my life take our dogs here again. im so lost for words. read more

I recently had to say goodbye to my 17 year old chihuahua Leo. I have never been to Richey animal clinic before but only decided to use their services based on pricing and location. Omg!!!! I got so lucky in choosing them to say goodbye to my sweet boy! Not only was the pricing extremely affordable my experience, as painful as it was, was above and beyond! All the staff there were extremely gracious, empathetic, and made this hard time not so hard. I decided to have him cremated and receive his ashes. The office said I would receive them within about two weeks. It has only been one week and I just received the most over the top sweetest card from the Dr and his excellent staff. The card was signed by everyone and had an ink impression of my baby's nose and foot. I can't even express how much that meant to me. Although I've never been to their clinic before they defiantly have made me feel like family. I can't thank everyone for. Richey animal clinic enough for being so sweet to me and my Leo in this hard time. I definitely would recommend this clinic to anyone! Diamond in the rough! I live 20 minutes away but I still drive here anytime my dogs need vet care. Her prices are the most reasonable in the area and everyone is nice. I've never had any issues and can usually get a same day appointment. It could use a bit of paint and the parking is a little lacking but I'm OK with that. I took my cat for an appointment because her ears were bothering her and I had grown concerned. The service I had was awful as the vet, Dr. Nester, didn't seem to care how uncomfortable my cat was during the examination. Her methods were rough and caused considerable pain in my animal. Dr. Nester had no regard my cats comfort at all but treated the whole experience like it didn't matter. After leaving the vet with some medicine and over a hundred dollars short I felt like I just wasted my time and money. After I got home my cat was so shaken up from the experience she wouldn't leave her pet carrier for some time. All I can say is to avoid this clinic unless you want careless treatment and a cold hearted diagnosis for your pet. read more

We had been using this clinic for well over 20 years (my husband used them prior to our marriage 22 years ago). We always have to wait for a period of time to get seen due to the large number of pets that get booked at the same time we do. The last time I was in there, they wanted almost $500 to run tests on my kitty. I did not have it in my main account but did have it in another account that I would be able to access within a couple of days. I explained the situation to them and they would not work with me. They offered me a credit card, which I declined. I brought my fur baby home and nursed her back to health with Pedialyte and a nutritional paste I bought from someplace else. read more

my dog died last night. She wasn't sick because of them but her death could have been prevented (from another vets opinion) they advised me to feed her and her stomach wasn't well enough to hold down solids because of that it messed her stomach up more and caused her dehydration to become more serious and also caused her to decline so rapidly. I paid to much money for them not to have taken her more serious and given her the attention and treatment she deserved. read more
