Dr. Ong is truly an angel! Her patience, serenity, level of care, and soothing demeanor are phenomenal. This morning, my family had to say goodbye to our elderly, loving German Shepherd, Pi, whom we recently discovered had hemangiosarcoma, a fatal cancer. Leading up to the appointment, Dr. Ong was easily accessible for the initial booking and questions, even when we vacillated on whether to go through with the appointment at all. You simply can't beat having such privacy and intimacy during your pet's final moments at home. Dr. Ong was efficient and offered comfort for everyone involved, including our other surviving dog--who was a bit anxious and wary--before, during, and after the euthanization procedure. Fuuuuu#%. This review isn't easy to write. But if it will help any other dog parent out there make their decision a bit less painful, then I'm here for it. Tex was a part of life for 14 *beautiful* years, and one day, he suddenly struggled to stand and walk; he was in immense pain (panting, refusing foods/treats, non-stop tremors), so we made the decision that it was time to say our goodbyes. A few friends, who also did in-home euthanasia for their fur babies, gave me some referrals. I chose Pet Loss At Home after reading their reviews. I submitted an online request + made a call, explained Tex's status, and they were able to schedule us in for the next day. It gave us *some* time to phone friends and family to visit Texie in his final day. The day we were scheduled, we fed him all the crispy bacon and Cheez-Its, gave him all the hugs, kisses, new toys, and prayers. Dr Ong arrived, re-explained the process, and began her services. The first injection put him into a deep sleep, which took about 10 minutes. He snored, we cried, and said our final goodbyes, as the next injection peacefully sent him to the rainbow bridge. In that moment, I knew we made the best decision for him, as hard as it was, and I had no regrets using this business. Dr Ong also shaved off some of his fur for a keepsake, and she also made a clay paw print with his name. Later, the cremation company (that we coordinated through Pet Loss At Home) arrived. If you're ever in this situation, I do recommend using a home euthanasia company for your fur babe (vs taking them to the vet, which can cause more stress on their sweet souls). Dr. Ong walked me through the process days in advanced and was very clear and sensitive when I was looking for quotes, which were very reasonable. It is never an easy decision to make, but knowing that my baby was able to go peacefully in her sleep while at home made everything so worth it. Dr. Ong was prompt and on-time, and helped set everything up in a way that was discreet and allowed us the time and space to be with our baby. She was able to coordinate everything down to the cremation services, all we had to worry about was being there for the euthanasia. I was able to keep a clay paw-print and a clipping of her fur as a keepsake. Transportation of the body was done by Dr. Ong and the cremation servicer, so we were able to trust that everything was done respectfully and without worry for us. No one ever plans to have to do this type of service again, but I'd choose Dr. Ong in a heartbeat. My dog has an aggressive hemangiosarcoma cancer that developed severely the past three weeks, and with many vet visits, our baby was extremely fearful of the vet post-surgery and would have panic attacks trying to get away from the vet despite being disabled and unable to use her back legs. Even when Dr. Ong arrived, she began to pant and became fearful seeing her, but she quickly was able to gain her trust and treated her with compassion and love during this process. By choosing an at-home euthanasia, I saved her the hardship and pain of having a fearful passing at the vet, and if you also have a senior or disabled animal at home that needs extra accommodations during a euthanasia, this is a very good choice. Other dog owners putting up there experience with this difficult decision made our decision a lot easier and I hope this review will do the same for others in a similar difficult situation. Our dog was 16 years old and was having trouble with his joints to where he could not stand up on his own and would constantly fall down and hurt himself. He had been having trouble holding his bladder as well. Then all of a sudden he just laid down like he was telling us he was just too tired and would not get back up again. He stopped eating and would just lay there the entire day. It was just hurting us so much to look at him that way so we made the extremely difficult decision to say goodbye to him. Know, this happened just all of a sudden within a matter of a week. I researched online and found Pet Loss At Home & Dr. Carol Ong. Her website explains very clearly what the experience will be and costs and I appreciate that. She also works with a pet cremation service to which you can have her set up same day. I also looked up her reviews on Yelp and I am so happy that some of the other reviewers shared their stories b/c it helped us make this extremely difficult decision. I called to schedule an appointment in the morning and Dr. Ong had an available time the same day. She kept in good communication and was punctual. She explained the process just as it is explained on her website. We said our good-byes and she gave the first shot. As he went into a deep sleep, we cried our eyes out. He was still breathing but he seemed calm and in a deep sleep. After the 2nd shot, he peacefully stopped breathing. We cried even more. I'm still crying writing this, but I know he's in a better place now and it was the best decision for him. Our family is still grieving, but we take solace in knowing that he went peacefully in his bed, in his home where he grew up. If you are ever in this situation, like others, I recommend using home euthanasia for your furry family member. It is difficult & probably one of the most difficult decisions we've made as a family. You will cry and then cry even more. You will find yourself calling out their name, but it will get better. Just know that they are in a better place waiting for you. Everything about this company is simply amazing. From the moment I made the phone call, I knew I made the right choice. The lady on the phone was so understanding and compassionate. Took the time to ask about my baby and let me know she understood how difficult making the call was, and made me feel comfortable enough to move forward with what needed to be done. The vet showed up to our house exactly on time, and immediately gave our girl a shot to calm her down, so our last moments were not full of anxiety. She made it clear that how everything proceeded from there was up to us, that we could take as much time as we needed. When the time for the final shot came, it was so quick and painless that I almost couldn't believe it was done. Our precious baby who had been suffering for so long was given the most peaceful transition anyone could ask for. The prices were far lower than other companies in our area, and they coordinated with a cremation service to take her away after everything was done. The man who came for that was polite and respectful and didn't approach us during the procedure, instead waited off to the side until everything was done. When it was he greeted us, offered his condolences and very gently wrapped her up and carried her to his truck, where he gently and carefully placed her inside. Not an easy task considering she was a large dog, but he handled her very well. We were given a beautiful clay paw print and later a card in the mail, expressing their sorrow for our loss but thanking us for trusting them in such an important moment. We reached out to Dr. Carol Ong when our 19 year old kitty quickly started going downhill from cancer. She was quick at responding and was available in short notice, which was appreciated. She even worked with us on timeframe. Unfortunately, if you are looking for someone to give you time to understand the process and make sure you and your pet are most comfortable, she is not your veterinarian. We had family in saying goodbye to our baby, and she rushed me to sign paperwork as they were trying to leave. Once I signed paperwork, she got straight to business. We were hoping to have our kitty settle into my husband's lap, which was her favorite place to be. When Dr. Ong arrived, our girl was on the couch and Dr. Ong was basically ready to inject before we could even say one last goodbye. I stopped her in order for us to shift our girl to my husband's lap, but she then didn't give her time to settle in. I basically had to adjust around her to give kitty one last kiss. We'd done this one other time at home with a veterinarian which was much more patient, gentle, and was sure we were ready and had said our goodbyes. Unfortunately that veterinarian had just gotten Covid so we decided she was too uncomfortable to wait. I wish so badly we had been able to. We even asked for a few minutes after to allow our other kitties to smell her and such, but she came back in shortly after as if saying "ok, are you done yet?" If you aren't looking for compassion or patience, she is your doctor. She did apologize for the loss on her arrival and she came to do the job...but ultimately that's all it felt like. Wanted to get in and out within 20-30 minutes. Definitely was hoping for a more peaceful, empathetic experience for our sweet 19 year old girl. We read such great reviews beforehand so not sure if she just doesn't have that same empathy for kitties or if we were just on an unfortunate day for her. That being said, I'll definitely use the other company in the future, even if a little more costly. read more

This service was here for us when we needed them. Our beloved miniature poodle, 12 years old, was passing away on a Sunday. No vets were open. I called this service, and they drove from far away. They came to put my dog out of her misery, but she gently passed in my arms before they arrived. They sat with us as we mourned for her, then when we were ready, they placed her in a basket with blankets, as if she were sleeping. They gave me a lock of her hair. They cremated her, and placed the ashes in a solid wooden box that we chose. They made an imprint of her paw, in plaster.
