However, it's what you do to rebound from that right? So Alejandro saw us and apologized so it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day, our furry children had a good time. They had a blueberry facial, they had bandanas, they also had a lot of exercise and 1:1 time. What I loved-- is how we can check the pet cameras to make sure they are ok! They also did brain games too and they were so tired when we picked them up! Money usually cries in the car but he didn't cry at all on our way back so I could tell that dogtopia did a very great job. Jasmine also explained everything well. The pups also had their nails trimmed too!!!! I loved how they center the dogs around like what group they can be too! Penny and Money were in the medium dog size group for medium energy! Separated from highest energy dogs! That kind of thought is so cute!

My previous appointment after dropping my dog off at 10 am I received a phone call asking if I was still dropping him off HOUR after he was already dropped off. Even though they offered to do absolutely nothing for taking up my entire day, I tried to be understanding and I get people make mistakes, continued to come back again. I drop my dog off at 10 am for an appointment 6/6 I made weeks in advance, they confirm my appointment the day before as well, at 2PM IN THE AFTERNOON I'm informed there's no groomer there, never was a groomer down on the schedule at all. The best they could give me is "sorry you can come back tomorrow or another day and we can TRY and make sure someone is there" Oh not to mention every time I go it's always a different price with no explanation. As someone that's been with you for 5 years, never no showed, not payed or caused any fuss this customer service was extremely disappointing.

My main worry is who is watching these dogs? And how no one was able to give me a straight answer on why and how my dog got hurt. Poor baby was anxious and scared the whole day. Went back to cancel the doggy day care plan that I had purchased, once again the girls at the front desk were understanding and cooperative but i just wouldn't risk bringing my dog here again.

Doing our research, we went to Pet Suites and found these rooms much more at home rather than keeping our pet in a kennel barking under fluorescent lights. Her room was a good size, well kept and clean. We usually don't keep her with other dogs and they made sure she could stay separated when having the outdoor play time and using the bathroom. Play, feeding, and bathroom were included. Very grateful for the fantastic/attentive staff and reasonable care. We would definitely book again in the near future.

One of my fur baby is usually timid and scared, but she loves coming here to see Miss Ruby. She listens to what you want and she makes great recommendations. She is also very gentle and patient with our dogs. The Rover Oaks staff members are all very friendly and they have a very organized online system to enter any immunization records and you can also view your pup's pawgress report. They also offer daycare and boarding services. It also looks like they may offer training as well. Every time we come here, all dogs are eager to go in and are all happy when they are there, so it seems that they are doing things right here!

If you look back at my previous review photos, you'll see the PERFECT schnauzer cut they used to do. Consistent. Professional. Distinguished little gentleman energy. Recently though, scheduling became nearly impossible. Every conversation sounded like: "Let me confirm if our groomer is actually working that day..." After weeks of trying to coordinate schedules, my schnauzer's hair got longer than ever. He loves wearing shirts, so yes, he had some matting. I paid extra for de-matting and gave very clear instructions: shave the skirt, but keep a full beard along with his chest and paws fluffy. Y'all... when I picked him up, I genuinely did not recognize my own dog. He walked in looking like a miniature schnauzer and walked out looking like a scrappy chihuahua named Peanut. They shaved EVERYTHING. His entire body, his face, even his whiskers. HIS WHISKERS. WTF. I know hair grows back and thankfully it's summer, but I honestly felt bad for him. As someone with longer hair myself, if somebody sat me down and buzzed me to the skin without warning, I'd probably need emotional support and a hoodie for a month. My dog still seems happy and unbothered, but I'm traumatized enough for both of us. After years of loyalty, this was incredibly disappointing and totally unacceptable. We will never come back..

From the first stay, I could tell they actually understand dogs, not just watch them. He came back relaxed, clean, and acting like himself, which says everything. The communication was solid, and I didn't have to chase anyone for updates. Place is clean, staff is friendly, and more importantly, they know what they're doing. I trust them with my dog, and that's not something I say lightly.

Con: The actual haircut didn't look that great. The groomer listed when I pointed out some fixes and adjusted accordingly. However I could tell inherently, the cut wasn't that great. It was even and the wash was done well, but the actual aesthetics were not there. My shih tzu was done in a way that left her eyes looking very sunken in. I included a photo taken after some adjustments.

After meeting with Ray and Tracy in our home, I felt even better about the decision-they were personable and professional and the pups loved them. Their prices are also very reasonable. During our trip, Tracy was the one who visited our pups. She texted updates and pictures every night, which I appreciated. When we got home, the pups were happy and healthy, and everything was right at our place. Ray and Tracy really care about your pets and about doing a good job. My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

This is a smaller LFS that focuses on saltwater/reef tanks. They have quite a few frag tanks with various softies, LPS, and SPS corals that all seem healthy and fairly priced. The staff has always been super patient and helpful when I have questions or when I just want to browse. They've been nice about letting me be particular when choosing specific fish/inverts/corals. They're also very knowledgeable and helpful, especially as I'm still new to this side of the hobby. It seems like Oceanlife is a staple among reef keepers in the area and they've definitely built relationships with folks. People get greeted by first name and seem to be able to special order things as well. All around, it seems like what you look for in a LFS!

Even with the new adjusted hours I unknowingly came in a minute before closing and to my surprise, Nick still took the time to patiently test my water thoroughly and refused to sell me any fish or corals because my water still wasn't ready. Fast forward a couple weeks later and my water is finally ready and they will be seeing a lot of me! What attracted me to this place is that the store is super clean and the prices are generally better than any other marine-life store in the Houston area. The staff is always super friendly, professional and knowledgeable which I am so thankful for as an aquarium novice such as myself. If you're looking for anything saltwater tank related- ocean life should be one of your top choices!!

I am very skeptical when it comes to boarding my little guy. I move fairly often with my job and I recently moved to the Houston area and one of the first things I did was research facilities to use for daycare and boarding. I researched about 5 places online and actually went to 3 places to visit before making my decision ( I am obsessed with my dog). I visited Rover Oaks, Urban Tails, and Meadowlake Pet Resort. I narrowed my choice down to Rover Oaks and Meadowlake Pet Resort after my first visit . After my second visit (yes I visited twice) and looking up reviews online, I knew that Meadowlake Pet Resort would be a great fit for my little guy. I visited with Domonique, the reservation specialist, and I was immediately hooked. The way she talked with me and not to me was very impressive. She has an amazing personality and she definitely had me hooked on my tour of the place. Everyone at Meadowlake greeted me and I could tell that they genuinely love their job. During my tour, I noticed a definite smell..its called FRESH!!! There were quite a few dogs at the time, but it didn't smell like "dog" and it didn't smell like cleaning chemicals either. I have visited a few facilities before (in case you didn't notice, I am obsessed) and this has to be one of the cleanest I have ever been in. After my 2nd tour of the facility, I decided to book a weekend boarding reservation and daycare evaluation to see how my dog liked it (HE is the best review for me). I first dropped my dog off for his evaluation and at the time I was told about the pet warranty (which many other places have also, remember I do a lot of research). I believe any reputable facility should offer something like this. To me it shows that they are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure my boy stays safe healthy while here. Anyways, I dropped him off and he usually takes awhile to get used to new places so Tina at the front desk was extremely helpful and understanding that my boy was nervous. She did an amazing job helping him during those first few minutes. I picked him up later that day and he was a completely different dog. He was so excited and in a way made me feel bad for picking him up early. It seemed like he didn't want to come home with me. Two days later was his weekend stay. I drove down the same road to Meadowlake and he immediately recognized it and became very excited and practically pulled me into the front door. That is when I knew that we found our place. When it comes to pricing, Meadowlake is no different than any other place. Any owner that TRULY CARES ABOUT THEIR PET will shop around to different places and you will quickly learn that you do get what you pay for. Top notch facilities do cost a little more, but it is well worth it knowing that my pet is having a great time while I am out of town and above all knowing that my pet is cared for and safe gives me the peace of mind to enjoy my vacations and trips. Like I said, I move around fairly often with my job and my dog is number 1 in my life so I believe I have a great idea of what a great facility should be like. Meadowlake has shown every time to be a great facility in the many times that I have returned. I hope I stay in Houston for while, but I know if I need to move and start my research all over again, I will always compare places to Meadowlake and the standards that they follow. read more

We are in love with Meadowlake! I found out about them while looking to adopt a dog for our family. I heard that they work with animal rescue organizations and I thought maybe they could give me suggestions on where to look. The day I called them, I learned that they actually had a rescue dog staying at their facility. He was brought in by one of their day care clients. Laura told me all about him and sent me a picture. She agreed that he would be a fit for our family. The day we went to pick him up, my kids and I stayed forever. We toured the whole place. We watched the day care pets and laughed at how cute they were. The employees were having as much fun as the dogs! They had play time inside and out, and even scheduled potty breaks. Then we found out they celebrate holidays and even have dress up days! We looked at the pets that were vacationing there. We kept talking about how nice their rooms were. Complete with a flat screen tv and their own doggy door and outside play area! I made the comment several times, that I couldn't believe how clean the entire place was and not one bit of smell! We've had our sweet pup now for over a year and use Meadowlake for his needs. Every time I walk in, we're greeted with friendly smiles and a very clean smelling space! I've watched other people drop off their fur babies to day care or vacation and you can tell they have complete confidence that their pet will be given the best care and they are! Also, with being a new mom to a fur child, I of course have lots of questions, they are always so helpful in answering those questions. I would tell anyone to visit Meadowlake and use them for all of your pets' needs! They are so caring! read more

This is the third time we have had our dog at Meadowlake. The first time he was less than a year old and it was only for 3 nights (12/12). We toured the whole place a week prior and even though my son was worried about leaving his puppy, we were pleased with what we saw. It didnt smell of dog urine masked by tons of cleanser like another place we looked at that was recommended to us that we practically ran out of! It was clean, bright and we liked the individual "rooms" that are not kennels! Our dog was happy and well cared for when we picked him up, and even though they were very busy we did get through on the phones and more than happily waited while they got the info on our puppy as to how he was doing when we called, and we called every day! The second time was approx. a year later, 12/13, and he stayed 5 nights, while we visited our first grandchild in Ohio. We had and equally great experience and happy dog after picking him up. This time (3/14) we went back to Ohio to spend more time with our new grandchild over our teenage sons spring break, and brought our cat to be boarded also. He is an old cat and had never been boarded before. We always had someone come to our house to feed him as he is a indoor cat only. We got him in one of the big individual cat rooms, as he is 20 lbs and he apparently did well. Our dog was happy and groomed when we picked up both of our animals after 8 nights. Note... our dog is not neutered so he does not spend time with other dogs during play time. he just got individual play time. read more

I have been boarding my oldest dog at Meadowlake pet Resort for the past 3 years and have never had a problem. I love the staff and my baby girl loves them as well. She is not very fond of many people and gets scared with new experiences but she was greeted with smiling faces and happy voices. For the past two years I have been boarding both of my dogs and have bought the family play package so they can run and play together and they come back after the weekend pooped out from all the play. I also bring my babies to daycare during the week so they can continue to play and socalize with other dogs. I will continue to take my babies to Meadowlake when I go out of town. They give great care and are very clean. I love Meadowlake Pet Resort!!!! read more

At ten years old, my pup has stayed at several Houston dog boarding facilities, and I can honestly say she has never been happier or more secure than when she stayed at Meadowlake. The entire staff knew her name (despite having 80 dogs there at the time) and gave me reports on how she did while I was away. I definitely breathe a bit easier knowing that the Meadowlake staff loves animals as much as I do and that the facility is absolutely spotless. I also love that doggie guests have tons of green space to play in and the cats have a beautiful outdoor, covered porch to relax in the sun. I cannot recommend Meadowlake enough...the personal attention and beautiful, clean grounds are a huge reassurance to any loving pet owner. read more

It's always been a challenge finding a boarding facility with staff that love and care for our pets as much as we do, but we've finally found it at Meadow Lake! From the moment you walk into the door you are greeted with smiling faces and spotless facilities! We have boarded both our babies (Jack Russell & Boxer) at other facilities in our area, but never again! Meadow Lake Pet Resort takes pride in what they do and it shows. I live down the block and used Meadowlake originally bc of it's proximity to my home. I have 2 dogs that come once or twice a year for boarding and about once a week for daycare. I am extremely satisfied and find that my pets always come home looking happy and healthy. The staff is very knowledgeable and the place smells so clean! I toured a couple other places and they stunk. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is bc they need more buildings or another location. They are getting so popular that you have to call far in advance to get reservations. I will always board at Meadowlake and hope they have plans to expand. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Meadowlake Pet Resort! More importantly I know if my dog could speak (& write) he'd be saying the same!!!!! The people who work there ALL love the dogs! No matter what their job is (front desk, trainers, cleaning crew, staff at the back, groomers... they're all professional, happy, outgoing, knowledgeable, animal loving staff members!) Wow! This place really is as good as it gets. My wife and I got a full tour of the facility and I couldn't help but think that the dog was staying at a nicer hotel than Us! I felt very comfortable knowing our family pet would be in the best care. Go see for your self. Every time I've come to meadowlake, I see nothing but happy dogs running around having a blast in their large open play field, pups jumping into their giant above ground swimming pool, and attentive staff ready to hang out with our dog. I have been taking my three dogs to Meadowlake for two years. We are out of town 4 to 5 times per year and each time I bring my pack, the staff remembers them and my dogs remember the staff. It is a very clean facailty and the staff really care about my dogs. My dogs come home happy from the stay. I drive from Northwest Houston over to Meadowlake, it is worth my drive. I have tried about 5 other facilities and this is the BEST. read more

Unfortunately I am, as I write this, looking to board elsewhere because they are full and I am reminded after calling Pooch Pad to check for availability why I don't want to go back there again. I have had a very positive experience with Meadowlake. Was worried about my senior dog "fitting in" and not feeling stressed. When I picked her up, I could tell she was happy. This is the second time my dog has come home injured after staying at this facility. I contacted the business immediately. They acknowledged my concerns and told me they would issue a refund, but since then they have stopped responding to my calls and messages. I still have not received the promised refund or any explanation for how my dog was injured. I trusted this facility to care for my dog while I was out of the country, and I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled. I'm posting a photo of the injury so other pet owners can make an informed decision. If you board your dog here, inspect your pet carefully before leaving the facility.

Other facilities charged me way more for significantly less exercise and play time, and my dog never seemed excited to go back. Pets Play Palace is consistent and I trust them completely to take care of my fur baby! They also offer grooming services, which is so convenient to add on after a long stay when my dog is stinky!

They have the most reasonable prices for boarding that I have found & I love that they try to be plastic free. They don't have a live video feed that can be accessed by the owners, but they post once a day on their instagram/Facebook stories & do a good job of trying to post a photo of every dog. We are boarding him for 24 nights soon, so will report back on how that goes.

Let me explain When we first dropped off, we were told the cameras we always used to watched our dogs while at daycare were broken and no indication to be fixed. Today, I went to pick them up, the glass door was broken and learned that someone had broken into the building last night and nobody stays overnight with the dogs. While our dog "Marley" was at the groomer getting simple nail trim and bath, we received a phone call from Urban Tails stating that there was an "accident". We rushed to the groomer to find out the worst news. Our beloved Marley was dead. The groomer stated she brought Marley to the back room and place Marley in a bath tub and placed her on a choke collar. After the groomer was done giving Marley a bath, the groomer stated: "...Marley jumped out of the tub and broke her neck... it all happened so quickly, it was an accident.." At first, I was sympathetic to the situation, but as i demanded to see the video footage, I was denied viewing any video footage because the owner of Urban Tails stated: ".. it's too graphic to watch.." We left Urban Tails with our sweet Marley's body wrapped in a cold wet towel. Our lawyer also requested to view the video footage. This is when we found out the TRUTH. After the groomer finished rinsing Marley, the groomer proceeded to leave the room leaving Marley soaking wet, attached to the choke holder and alone in the tub. Approx 1 min later, Marley began to look around. Then she jumped out of the tub with the choke collar still attached. Marley then began to struggle for her life, gasping for air and trying to reach for anything to help her breath. She could not touch the ground. She struggled for 8 WHOLE MINUTES according to the video footage. Her body went limb at 9 minutes. Marley was found hanging by the choke collar outside of the tub by a different groomer at 11 minutes. 11 minutes have passed since the original groomer left the room. Her body was unresponsive and Marley was dead. The original story given to us by the groomer was a complete lie. This was NO accident!! This was complete and utter NEGLIGENCE!! Marley did not die instantly as the groomer stated. Our poor Marley struggled for her life and suffered a senseless death. We feel tremendous guilt for trusting our family member with Urban Tails. We should have never brought her there. If you love your pet as much as we do, please please please DO NOT bring your pet to Urban Tails. Nothing on earth will bring beloved Marley back to us. But we hope to inform others to learn from our tragedy. The groomer should have never left her unattended and the use of choke collars should only be used by properly trained groomers or omitted from grooming / bathing techniques completely. The heartache of losing a loved one in such a sudden tragic manner is overwhelmingly difficult. Please DO NOT bring your pet to Urban Tails!! In solidarity - Marley's parents

They are able to work with him, let him play with other dogs and do enrichments with him which are all vital for a dog like mine. My dog loses interest easily, is all over the place and also not highly treat motivated (but gotten better). They make it fun and keep it interesting for him. I always have a peaceful night when he comes home from daycare. When Remy had pneumonia, they sent him a get well basket with a card that had a photo montage of Remy on the back of the card. Just very thoughtful and sweet. Remy and I are forever grateful for this place!

I showed up with no appointment, Nicole at the front desk created a customer profile for us, I dropped her off, and I received a call less than 30' after that saying that Monaco was ready. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they painted her nails, and put a matching bow on her. What a nice touch! Now I will definitely have to try their boarding services next time I leave town. The DVM we visited studied our boy's medical record thoroughly before she came in to answer the 101 questions we had, fearing he had Cushing Disease. He does indeed have it. The most accurate testing was recommended by Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital to an internal medicine DVM (not Gulf Coast). Richmond told us outright, we want your pup to be diagnosed asap under care, but we recommend the test be performed by a specialist. Best decision ever. Our boy is doing well thanks to Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital. Not the most economical (as they don't exist) but Richmond Avenue Animal Hospital is trustworthy, which is what we really needed.

To my shock they basically counseled me to put him down despite him starting a new medication that same day. Thankfully I made arrangements for my pup to see if his meds would work and they did. A full month later He's alive & thriving. I'm thankful I did not listen to them. I'm sure they meant well, but if they are saying to put your pet down; PLEASE be sure to get a 2nd opinion.
