I came back on early Saturday evening after a nice cooling rain. It was pleasantly not crowded. I got a couple of empanadas from one truck and a couple of smash burgers from another. Both items were delicious. When I go back, I want to try something from the hibachi grill. I got an Oakcliff smashburger and my son enjoyed a Dallas. We loved our burgers. You could tell they were made fresh with chunks of avocado and bacon for me! The empanadas were good if a bit small. The dough pocket could have been premade, so I'll have to try something else from that food truck. That's the beauty and draw of a food truck park as pi your able to try have what you want and still eat together! I hope people come out and give this place a try. You sound like a pretentious prat if you go around saying "I follow food trends", but…read moreanyone on instagram who checks out #tacos, has seen EVERYONE posting about birria for the last couple of years. Places have been popping up around the metroplex, some restaurants have gotten on board, but the trucks seem to be the ones going all in. I am one of those people who believe the best tacos come out of trucks and gas stations, and I appreciate a small business focusing on having a smaller menu and doing it really well. This is a truck parked on Berry St. It is not in the best location, but it is easy to get to from either 287 or 820. It is a bright yellow truck and they have a banner set up on the road letting you know that this is where the tacos are. On to the tacos. I ordered 3 birria tacos and the consume. Came out to $9 and they only take cash or zelle. I was told it would be 10 minutes and they would bring them to my car. It didn't take that long and soon I had a very FULL plate of tacos. They are not skimping on their filling over here. They were piping hot and super crispy. If you don't know, it is a stewed meat that is shredded. The tortillas are dipped in the liquid and then put on the flat top where it fries from the fat from the meat. The shells turn a lovely orange color from the spices and soak up all that flavor before becoming wonderfully crispy. They melt cheese on the tortilla before filling it with shredded beef. If you get the consume, you dip your tacos in the same wonderful liquid that has been cooking with the meat all day. The tacos were so flavorful, that the consume was not needed, though delicious. These are tacos you want to eat immediately before the juicy filling takes away the crunch and integrity of the tortillas. Three tacos were substantial. I had trouble finishing them, but I managed. They are packed up with two different salsas, the green is very tasty and mild, the red brings the heat and some tang to cut the richness of the beef and cheese. You also get raw AND grilled onions, cilantro, and lemons. They gave me a good amount of napkins, but I was glad to have a stash in my glove box, because this is going to be a messy experience. And I mean that in a good way. Just maybe don't wear white. These are seriously the best birria tacos I have had yet. The people were friendly and the value is great.
