With that said, when I called to have my car serviced after a check engine light came on and my car started running poorly, and then the entire heater / defroster stopped running just in time for a blizzard. I just had my Explorer driver seat heater element replaced 11/14/24 at Eau Claire ford. It literally took them 30 minutes to replace the element but they billed me $373.89 in labor.....that's correct...$373.89 for 30 minutes of labor. I am beyond angry. They say it's because they use some system that rates how long a job should take and this was supposed to take 2.5 hours. What in Gods name could that guy have done to do the job 5 times faster than the rest of the mechanics? This is simply stealing money...pure and simple. I will never go back to EC Ford for anything. 2019 Ford Ranger needed the Adaptive Cruise Control Sensor recalibrated. New bumper put on and the sensor had to be relocated. The Service Advisor, Corey Cantu, was informed that the sensor would need to be leveled before calibrating. $100 and 1.5 hours later Sensor is not calibrated and they never bothered to level it prior. Just jump in with your computer and attempt to calibrate a sensor that is not level. Who does that? read more

I overheard a female manager (Keena?) screaming and throwing around F Bombs at the poor service guys. They seemed pretty young. I would be really pissed off if that was my child. Buyer Beware. Bought new F-150 from eau claire ford. Transmission started clunking and vibrating before 10,000 miles. Took it to Eau Claire Ford Service 3 times, each time Joe Gilbertson service manager said nothing wrong. At less than 30,000 miles transmission blew up while in Kentucky. Despite still under warranty Eau Claire ford refused to help stranded wife. Dealer in Corbin Kentucky said 10R80 transmission has long history of failing dangerously and Eau Claire ford service could and should have fixed it. Spoke with Benjamin Lindberg @ec ford as I still owe 30,000 dollars on a now worthless truck. Refused to help, Benjamin told me they do not have to disclose any defects on vehicles to customers and ordered me out of dealership. Still waiting for Keena Mohr/lindberg or Rick Mohr owners to call me...NOTHING. Never do business with these people. They will let you die for a dollar. read more

Going on a family tip and ran over something on the road. Stopped for gas and 2 tires had a bulge popping out the side like my tires developed Nipples. Excited my tires didn't blow but distracted I had to get new tires I started calling around. No one could me in today, and once again just driving through not staying. The nice people at the ford dealer let me bring my Chrysler and got me in and out in about 45 minutes. They even did a price check in tires to make sure they were the best price. Very friendly and nice staff. The waiting room was clean and they even had free cookies and mt dew. Awesome. read more

Relatively painless "certified pre-owned" purchase. I really like that they are a no-haggle shop, that makes the decision making process considerably less annoying. I am satisfied with the car I purchased and the price I got it for. I'm also satisfied with the value I received on my trade-in; I had done my research ahead of time and they gave me a fair deal on both transactions. There was a bit of pushiness regarding gold-plated service plans, but that was really the only negative thing. Avoid this dealer, they are not honest or trust worthy from my experience. I sent a message through Cars.com to Eau Claire Ford that I was interested in your truck and requested to keep the communications through email. I was contacted by Sales and everything started out well. They offered to meet half way in Madison but was very particular on what day we would meet, I made some alterations to my schedule and my wife took a couple hours off of work to pick up our son from school. I found out later from sales mixed in a visit with his best friend in Madison, bothered me a bit that she missed out on work and we flexed as we did to accommodate this. I had to leave right from the dentist with a numb mouth for this. When it came down to getting the numbers together sales committed to a $15,000 trade in value on my 2012 Mustang convertible with another $500 when they see back at the dealership that it looks as it did on Cargurus.com where I had it listed for sale by owner, all of this is in our emails. The other dealer had offered me $15,500 with no conditions but I thought going with Eau Claire Ford felt better. I was wrong. We met as agreed in Madison and that is where everything started to fall apart. I gave sales my USAA Electronic Dealer Checks and they initially did not accept it and made a HUGE deal out of nothing but eventually accepted the check. I asked for the title for the truck but sales said they will be sending the title through Wisconsin. The next day I confirmed that I needed the title to pay taxes, register, and title the truck in my name in Illinois. I immediately informed sales of this and sales argued that sending the title through Wisconsin was law. I called the USAA titling department who advised me the was no such law. USAA would get the title as they are the lien holder but would have to send it to me to take it to the Illinois Secretary of State to properly title it but all of this would take longer than Illinois allows to pay tax and register a vehicle. USAA was willing to send your dealership a letter giving permission for me to have the title to take care of the necessary things at the Illinois Secretary Of State. I called and spoke with their title clerk and begged her to send me the title to do this and she refused. I continued begging her until she agreed to speaks with the Illinois Secretary of State to confirm what I was telling her. She did call and confirmed that I was correct but still refused to send me the title. She used the Illinois online system to fill out the paperwork the same as I would have done. I could have gotten personalized plates at the DMV if I would have had the title with me and done this myself which is what normally happens. Then comes the issue of the remaining $500 for my trade. I sent sales an email a day after he got the car back to the dealership and expected to hear that the Mustang is as it was in the pictures and I would be getting a check. I did not hear back. I called and asked about it and he said that they would not make any decisions until the money is deposited in the dealer account from USAA. I asked why he had to wait for the money to be deposited before confirming the Mustang was as it appeared in the pictures and tell me they would send the check when the USAA deposit shows in your account. I was not asking for a check right now. Sales said in that case we will go with the contract and leave it at the $15,000 as it is not worth more. I asked how he can say that when it is already listed on the Eau Clair Ford website for $20,995 almost $6,000 more than I was given. I asked what was wrong with the Mustang that he is pulling back on the $500 when they will be making $6,000 on it. He said he did not have to disclose that to me. Based on the progression of the conversation it was clear that there was never any intention to give me the $500. Beware of this dealership as my experience showed they are not trustworthy. They also did not disclose the truck had a broken windshield and missing spare tire tool kit. read more

Took my 2012 Ford Escape in to Eau Claire Ford today, my alarm system was turning on when the car was shut-off. After 2 1/2 hours they told me they could not find anything wrong with the car. Really, I talked to the service manager all he told me was leave the car overnight, why so the night janitor can fix it when the alarm goes off. So much for factory trained technicians. A simple problem and they have no idea. I know they are poorly designed cars but, really. "I don't know what is wrong". That's the answer. Stay away from show-room cars. Look good in the show-room a few years into the life of the car and you find out no quality in the car or the service after. read more

I have had my 2014 Focus for 2 years now, and as far as buying a new car, I will say never again!!! From day 1, this car has been nothing but problems. 2 months into owning the new car, the leather seam in the backseat came apart leaving a 6 inch gaping hole. Now I could see this happening with wear and tear, but nobody ever sits in the back seat of this car. Now I realize, things are faulty from time to time, so I didn't see a big issue with this. My problem however was the lovely lady who worked in the service depart who had the personality of a rock, and was downright rude to every person within a 5 mile radius of the service counter. I'm not just talking to the customers, but I saw her yelling at co-workers as well I don't see this as acceptable behavior for any position, let alone customer service. Now we move on to the transmission/shifting issues. In the past 2 years, my car has been in for reprogramming of the transmission, as it would shake and shudder horribly going through acceleration. On to the 6th time, I am informed that there is a "fix", which entails a new clutch assembly. This entire process of the transmission has been horrible, which is about the last thing you would expect out of buying a brand new car off the lot. There have been many unpleasant and inconvenient shuttle rides to and from work, including sitting at a factory listening to the shuttle driver argue and curse out the security office for not letting him into the parking lot. Lets just say I've had my share of uneasy interactions. I have owned my fair share of Ford vehicles over the years including an Edge, Taurus, and a Fusion. In my current state with the Focus, I have no trust in the reliability of the vehicle, and my factory warranty is about to expire. Might be time to look elsewhere for a reliable vehicle/dealership. read more

Went in on late Saturday afternoon before Memorial Day. We test drove a new 2016 Lincoln MKX. We loved it. The salesman was wonderful! Spoke to th finance guy. Told him we were very interested, but wanted to think about it over the weekend. They were closed on Monday, so we called first thing Tuesday to say we'd take it. IT WAS SOLD!? To who? Rick Moore, the owner of Eau Claire Ford Lincoln! He bought it for another "business" he owns! BUT we could buy the now used vehicle without the rebate or 0% financing--ya right! What a joke! I purchased a used 2011 Ford F-150 pickup about a month ago. I wasn't informed of the "no negotiation " sales model until after I had test driven several vehicles. The "60 point inspection process" for all used cars was trumpeted constantly and I agreed to pay more than the average price for the vehicle in this area. Other customers were being "ambushed" with this tactic as well. After I agreed to purchase I was ushered into another office and met with the "finance person" and pressured for nearly 45 minutes to buy an expensive "service protection" ($2400 for 24 months) policy. Finally (since I had the ballyhooed "60 point inspection on all used vehicles to count on) my declination was reluctantly accepted and I was made to sign multiple documents, which I wasn't given time to read thoroughly, saying I was buying "as is". Two weeks later I brought the vehicle back because the dealer installed after market radio/entertainment system did not work, nor did the rear window defogger. During the troubleshooting for these two problems, I was informed the passenger side front coil spring was broken! Total estimated repairs, $2200! Since I was confident that all these things should have been found in (60 point used car vehicle inspection), I offered to pay for the parts if they would take care of the labor. The service person refused and referred me to the sales department. They also refused and implied strongly that I had abused the vehicle since I purchased it (I am 66 years old and not an off-roader). I took the vehicle to another certified dealship in the area and verified the spring was broken, but they allowed me to look at it and it was obvious from the deterioration and corrosion that the spring had been broken for a long time, definitely when I purchased the vehicle. I had the repair done at that dealership at considerably less expense.. My final word- DO NOT BUY from Eau Claire Ford, especially a used vehicle. read more

dont ever buy a vehicle from eau claire ford or have your car repaired here. they do not stand behind there warenty or vehicles. my husband bought a 2015 f350 platnum from here 18 months ago and with in the first week it rained and the entire inside was soaked from the moon roof when it was closed due to a leak-to the point they had to replace all the air bags because they got to wet, they would not replace the truck said its under warinty and there are no issues showing at this point so there is nothing we can do about it. really-the whole truck and electrical got soaked. also had multipule problems with the def system all they would say was cant find a problem....all 5 to 10 times taken in for derating will driving. now oil pressure droped, no engine shut down, no light came on i believe the computer has failures because the system got wet right after he bought it. the only way he knew that there was a problem was because the engine started knocking due to the oil getting that low. the oil was going into the radiator and overflow system. called eau claire ford they said drive it down here, he started then oil blew everywhere and could not drive on the way there. eau claire ford ran reports said oil pressure bottomed out and engine temp got extreamly hot-yet no warning lights...hum everyone knows that if this happens than your engine is hurt and rod barings are gone. ford would only replace the oil cooler said the rest is fine, nothing we can do. when he went to pick it up oil was still all over the truck, my husband asked why and duffy the service manager stated "thats not our problem to wash it thats yours" what customer service wouldnt you say.....not!!! they didnt spray off anything the oil was baked onto the truck from sitting in the sun at ford for a week while the tried to figure out the problem and duffy said that the oil still needs to be burned out of the exhaust so that means they didnt even drive it long enough to make sure the problem was fixed, again great customer service....not!!!! then to top everything off they charged my husband 113.00 for the oil they had to put in the truck after the oil cooler blew shouldnt that be covered under warnity as well - he just had the oil changed there less than 3 weeks prior. so to tell everyone again.... do not buy a vehicle or get a vehicle repaired here!!!!!!!!!! duffy the service manager is no good, doesnt take care of the customer!!!!!! read more
