We attended our friends' 25th wedding anniversary celebration here, and it was such a beautiful venue for the occasion. The event began with a simple vow renewal ceremony, followed by the lunch reception in the same space. Upstairs, there was a photo booth along with several fun photo opportunities for guests. The sound system was great, there was a cash bar, and the venue had plenty of room for everyone to mingle around. For appetizers, we enjoyed crab cakes and bruschetta. Lunch was served buffet-style and included rolls, salad, veggies, chicken breast, and pasta. Everyone at our table agreed that the pasta was a little on the salty side, but the rest of the meal was enjoyable. Coffee was served alongside the wedding cake, making for a nice ending to the meal. Overall, it's a lovely venue for weddings, anniversaries, and other occasions. This was a perfect venue and a beautiful experience for our guests and daughter for her quinceañera. The event site coordinators were accessible and responsive. We were flexible on the day and time we wanted to hold the event and appreciate that they were willing to work with our budget so that we could have our event in this beautiful space. The lighting that comes through the stained glass window during a day time event is beautiful and our guests raved about the food. They were also very accommodating of our vegetarian guests. We had about 55 guests and there was plenty of room for the dance floor, DJ, Photo Booth, cake table and buffet. Also a shoutout to the wait staff who were very friendly and attentive. Only downside, which is not the facility's fault is the metered parking. Our tech savvy guests updated their time via an app but some of the older guests had to continue to go to the parking lot to add more time. Our DJ did a good job of reminding the guests to do so. Had my wedding at Michael's on November 1st and safe to say it was perfect! One of the more affordable all-inclusive venues in the area so it was nice to have budget room to splurge on some other things! We held our ceremony on the upstairs mezzanine and while it was tight for 110 guests it was equally as intimate. Everyone has complimented us on the amazing food, which was delicious. We had so much fun at the food tasting where we got to sample everything before making the finals selections. We served buffet style and there is so MUCH food, people were going back for 2nds and 3rds! Megan and Kelly were amazing and so helpful all throughout the planning process. They set up all of my decor, helped run through rehearsal, coordinated with vendors and just gave me so much peace of mind. Thank you ladies again! I went to a wedding there and was impressed by the simple but nicely decorated rooms - an upstairs church-isle like space for the wedding ceremony and a downstairs dining hall. Food was decent. Pastas, chicken, and salads. It's self service so guests have to line up to get the food. Overall I'd say this venue would be a great choice if you don't want to spend too much money but want a nice and cordial atmosphere for your event. It's simple, not extravagant, but warm and welcome. There is a parking lot right next door but depending on how many guests are attending the event it may get full. Some of the adjacent streets didn't seem like a nice area so I'd highly recommend arriving early to park in the nearby lot. read more

SAN PEDRO'S HIDDEN GEM You know the drill. You need a place to have an event, and you want it to be nice. In my case, it was a Celebration of Life for my husband, and I wanted it to be memorable. We checked all the usual places: hotel ballrooms and event rooms, country clubs, restaurants, private clubs, etc. All OK, but nothing special. Until we visited Michael's Tuscany Room in San Pedro. The minute we stepped in, we knew this was the place. It had charm, warmth, it was inviting and it had character! It had a beautiful staircase (great for pictures!), an upstairs as well as a downstairs, and could seat up to 500 if necessary. We fell in love with it. But wait, there's more! They also have a projector and screen (or you can use your own laptop) for video presentations, places on the wall where you can hang family pictures (GREAT for weddings or Celebrations of Life), a podium and microphone, easels of various sizes for picture or information boards, registration table, memory table, dessert table (or cake table) great sound system, and a bar. They have several sideboards around the room to put pictures or decorations on if you choose. There is also a public parking lot next door. But wait, there's still more! They have a variety of menus and hor d'oeuvres to choose from, as well as a full bar, wine and beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee. The food is all prepared on site. This is a family business and they take it seriously. They also own the restaurant across the street, Raffaello's, but Michael's is strictly an event location. The two ladies who helped us with decision-making and planning were Megan, the administrative assistant, and Kelly, the owner's wife. They helped us plan the perfect event, and we received endless compliments on the Italian food (my husband loved Italian), the waitstaff, the sound system/video and the beautiful set-up. It was everything I hoped it would be. But wait! Did I mention it was REASONABLE???? I suggest you run, don't walk, to Michael's Tuscany Room to get the date you want for this amazing venue. We had our wedding here last weekend and it was absolutely gorgeous! Zulema is so kind and so easy to work with. She calmly answered all of my questions for months before the wedding and helped me understand the whole process as a DIY bride. The servers were extremely attentive during dinner and overall people couldn't stop saying how pretty the place was. My only complaint was that the cake was included and couldn't be taken off. We didn't love the cake flavors offered by the local bakery, and the communication with Paul was difficult. (Not part of Michael's!) Overall- I'd 110% recommend that you host your wedding here! We attended a wedding celebration here on a Friday night. It is located in the downtown area. We were lucky to find a parking spot near the dental office across the venue. Anyway, the place looks ok exteriorly but when we went in the venue really looks elegant, rustic style, and I think perfect for wedding or any celebration. Food is also good as well. We held our wedding reception at Michael's Tuscany Room and we LOVED it!!!! Everyone who worked at Michael's Tuscany Room was accommodating and wonderful to work with. Weddings can be stressful to plan, but the team at MTR made it a lot easier. They were responsive to our emails and were clearly pros at event planning. The venue itself is beautiful, and comes with its own decorations so we had a lot less work to do in terms of decorating. We love that they had a staircase which came in handy for the grand entrance, and also just generally looked good in photos. The food was also really good! We chose the chicken stuffed with spinach/mozzarella which was delicious. They also had plenty of food for the guests included in their wedding package: bruschetta, bread, salad, potatoes, pasta, chicken, and even a cake from a neighboring bakery! I loved that they offered both plated and buffet style. We ordered some extra hors d'oeuvres as well and I LOVED their stuffed mushrooms. It was delicious. We had about 100+ guests so they were all seated on the first floor around the dance floor so that everyone had a pretty decent view and nobody was too far away. We would choose Michael's again. Had the privilege of touring here for our potential wedding ceremony/reception. With a guest list of 200 people, we were informed that the space would not be able to accommodate the ceremony and were recommended several other places in the area. We would have had to settle with reception only, which was a bummer. If your wedding plans to have a party as big as ours, it's best to be aware of this. However, the space was clean and beautiful -- Zulema coordinated our tour and was extremely respectful, kind, and organized. We were able to receive a quote during the tour as well. For the price they quoted, you receive a lot, including a custom tiered cake! While we ultimately did not choose this place, I'd be happy to revisit for a different occasion. read more

Its been several years since I've eaten at Michael's will add this to my Italian list of eatery. For some reason its easy to forget about the local eatery in San Pedro when you're in the Southbay. Came to eat for my friend's daughter Quinceneara, it was beautifully decorated, buffet style with 2 types of pasta, one penne in a white sauce and a second penne pasta with a red sauce. My favorite is the penne in white sauce, accompanied with pieces of chicken. It was rich and creamy, loved so much I had seconds. The bartenders were super friendly. Micheals Tuscany Room was 100% the best venue we could have wanted. It was truly magical and very unique. It does not even compare to regular halls. The staircase is the star of the room. We only saw this one and fell in love! I wanted a place where we can have an indoor ceremony and reception the same place.
