They are now on 224 in Boardman. They are kind and caring people. Both my puppies were neutered there. We get their monthly medications and the staff always gets them ready quickly. I have known a very dear friend for over 20 years. He is elderly and loves his dog very dearly. I have watched him do everything he can to care for it despite living on a very limited fixed income. What has saddened me is seeing how anxious he becomes when seeking veterinary care. He worries constantly about costs because he simply cannot afford unexpected expenses. In situations like that, kindness, patience, and clear communication matter tremendously. Unfortunately, from what I have witnessed and from conversations with him after his visits, he often left feeling dismissed rather than supported. Asking about costs should not make someone feel uncomfortable or ashamed. For a senior citizen trying his best to care for a beloved pet, a little compassion can make all the difference. Veterinary medicine is expensive, and I understand that practices must charge for their services. My concern is not the cost itself, but the way vulnerable clients are treated when they are frightened, anxious, and trying to understand their options. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended: as a reminder that empathy and respect are every bit as important as medical care. P.S. Afterward, I was able to locate several organizations in the area that specifically assist pet owners on limited incomes. It left me wondering why struggling clients aren't routinely provided with information about available community resources. read more

My experience with Ebert Animal Hospital was extremely disappointing.I scheduled a checkup for my two cats a rescued female kitten and my adult male cat to begin the process of having them spayed and neutered. During the visit, my male cat received his first rabies vaccination, and my female kitten was prescribed antibiotics for a respiratory infection. During the examination, the veterinarian discovered that both cats had ear mites. Since my kitten was a recent rescue, she had unknowingly passed them to my adult cat. Instead of treating the ear mites during the visit or providing me with the medication, I was told they would order it online and have it shipped to my home because I wasn't able to pay the estimated $600 bill in full. I explained that I only had $200 with me because I believed I was only coming in for a routine checkup. Based on what I was told, I believed the ear mite medication was included and had already been ordered. After waiting an entire week, I discovered that no medication had ever been ordered. I later found out the medication would have only cost around $50. As a result, I had to treat both of my cats myself without any assistance from the clinic, despite already paying $200 for the visit, a rabies vaccine, and antibiotics.To make matters worse, I later learned they intended to charge approximately $400-$467 to neuter my adult male cat, with my female kitten's spay surgery being an additional charge. These costs were never clearly explained during my visit. I eventually contacted another animal hospital that quoted me just $62 total to spay and neuter both cats. My biggest concern isn't just the pricing it's the lack of compassion I experienced. When I explained that I couldn't afford a $600 payment upfront for what I thought was simply a wellness exam, I felt like my financial situation determined the level of care my pets received. Responsible pet owners expect veterinary care to be expensive, but a routine checkup shouldn't come with an unexpected bill of hundreds of dollars, followed by several hundred more per animal for standard spay and neuter procedures.When I called to cancel both surgery appointments after learning the costs, one of the staff members was surprisingly rude and unprofessional. I clearly stated that I wanted to cancel appointments for both cats. However, only one appointment was canceled, and I continued receiving emails about the other appointment. As a pet owner, I was simply trying to do the responsible thing by ensuring my cats received the care they needed. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, misled, and disappointed by what I perceived to be excessive pricing, poor communication, and a lack of empathy. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with little confidence in recommending Ebert Animal Hospital to others. In addition of what I have experienced, I am only giving them one star read more

don't go there. since this business moved into boardman who knows who's running that place. i went there with my dogs, i have two. i have been going there with my dogs since they were newborns. the vet was great the first few visits. it was the same vet. but ever since my first two experiences things have gone downhill drastically. so ever since we've been going we've seen the same faces. all those faces are gone. that place underwent a drastic change. employees who were there a couple of months ago are no longer there. the vets that were there are no longer there. you know what that tells me? it tells me it's a terrible place where no one wants to work and i see why. the last time i was there i was overcharged. the vet told me my dog might have fleas he might have allergies ... he didn't know and said 'o well' and left. they supposedly gave my dogs some shots and did some tests. i was supposed to be contacted about the results of those tests. do you think anyone called??? no. of course not. and i was charged a lot of money. so i'm looking for a new vet and i encourage anyone looking for a vet don't go here. apparently ever since they moved to that fancy new location all you are is a price, the more they can squeeze outta you the better and who gives a crap about your pets. that's the treatment you will receive at this veterinarian clinic called ebert. ps news flash - my dog doesn't have fleas and never did. if the idiot vet would've taken his comb and ran it through my dog's hair he would've known this ... but all i got was 'your dog's scratching ... might be fleas ... might be allergies ... gee i don't know.' well what the hell did i come here for if you don't know????????????? so, yeah, that's my experience at this awful awful business. they used to be nice. now they're just about the money. money, money, money, money ruins more decent people & businesses. too bad & so sad because you lost another patron & good riddance. read more

They charge through the roof. Are dog was walking very stiff and I new right away it was arthritis. My wife talked me into going to the vet against my better judgment. Any good Vet can tell with out x rays if there are any broken bones by feeling. He insisted on x rays with were $275. The whole bill was $385 with meds and such. We are on a very fixed income and as a result aren't going to have very nice Christmas. He has changed the he'll out of me before with by other dog. Had a first time appointment on a Saturday morning and the waiting room which was not even the size of a normal room in a small home was PACKED and people were still arriving! I had to pay $75 UNREFUNDABLE to see this doctor Ebert and for some stupid reason paid it in advance for THEY MAKE YOU!!!!! The thing that upset me was HOW LONG WAS I GOING TO WAIT TO SEE HER!!!!!!! I am so grateful for the staff at Ebert Animal Hospital. My golden retriever hurt her leg and they got us in immediately. They were so kind and caring and explained everything in detail with how much it was going to cost so there was no surprise at the end. They treated my dog like she was an old friend with many hugs and kisses. My experience was wonderful and I highly recommend taking your pet there. read more

The staff there is really nice and De. Shedan does a great job with the cats. He is concise and explains everything well. He is also very compassionate when it comes to making hard decisions about your animals which I think is worth its weight in gold. I recently took my 2 small dogs to my long time vet, Ebert. The College of Vets are now advocating only getting rabies vaccine after age of 7. The rabies vaccine wasn't due until 2020. I explained to the doc I would no longer be getting the other vaccines and he just raised his eyebrows and I'm quite sure he wasn't happy to hear that. I also told him the airlines we use to travel with dogs no longer require his paperwork he charged for and that was another visit he wouldn't be able to charge for any longer. I asked him to cut both dogs toenails and clean out one of the anal sacs. He presented me with a bill for 125.00. When I questioned the bill he took it away and cane back with another ridiculous bill for 85.00. I guess he needed to make up the money he was losing on not giving the vaccines I no longer would allow. It was also mentioned in the article I read they may be harmful. Twice after receiving the kennel cough vaccine my Pom contracted the disease. For many years in the past the dogs were given the rabies vaccine yearly until a young female working there said rabies should only be given every 3 years. I need to find a new vet I can trust and who isn't worried about lining his pockets with unnecessary treatments. read more
