Very overpriced . A Maybelline mascara is $15.99 here which is grossly overpriced. There's a $10 minimum to use a credit card and you feel watched as you walk around the store's tight aisles. Aside from that I grabbed a few items and they were full of dust and pieces of hair?? They really need to do a deep clean. They didnt have a good selection of nail glue either which is what I initially walked in there for. read more

I for one am not a hater of Eve. I live in Bayside and this is the closest beauty supply to me. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than Jamaica Ave or 125th St but the extra .50- $1 isn't a dealbreaker for me as this is the closest place to my home for silk bonnets and other black hair products. The selection is pretty extensive everything from braiding hair to drug store make to Chinese beats products all under one roof. I wouldn't make this my destination for weave but braiding hair here is relatively cheap $2 and I saw a some crochet braids for $6. All in all got my gold beads for box braids and a jumbo bonnet for $7 with tax. As for the whole racial profiling business, the countless times I've been here I have never felt followed or watched. However judging by the "wall of shame" they have on the door it seems like this place has a major shoplifting issue lol read more

Insanely overpriced merchandise. I would never come here unless I was in dire need. I took an Ubër over from my job on my lunch break because I needed braiding hair and hair dye for my bundles. The braiding hair was reasonably price for $1.99 which ended up being 2 for $4. The hair dye was another story. Usually the Adore brand that I buy is always $3.99. They sold the dye for $4.50 a pop. They have just about everything. As soon as you walk in there is a wall on the left with hair accessories,eyelashes, and eyeliners. I suggest you go here first before visiting other cosmetic shops like nature republic/skinfood etc, you'll probably find what you need in a few minutes. Theres usually 1-2 employees that stand at the ends of the aisles to watch for theft but thats pretty much it, they'll leave you alone they won't stalk up on you *phew*. This is a common issue with stores in flushing/ the sales associates follow your every step and treat you like a criminal rather than a customer. If your looking for assistance, the workers wouldn't be good help, but I prefer to freely browse and explore myself than to have someone breathing down my neck. Eve Beauty Source is a large well-stocked retail / wholesale establishment for the Professional and individual. Eve's contains many shampoos, conditioners, supplies for nails and hair & a large selection of hair pieces and wigs. After stopping in a few times I noticed that the security was watching me very closely, it stands to reason as this is a store in a bustling metro area. I introduced myself to several of the gentleman as a fellow security officer and their neighbor in the community, I indicated to them that my office was literally across the street. There were no further problems or difficulties following that. My wife and I proceeded to frequent this establishment and make purchases of many Items. We found some of the items are a little more pricey than in other neighboring establishments but that's not a problem, I don't want to have to go everywhere with wife to get her supplies it's nice to be able to just visit one location. There are several beauty supply stores in Flushing my wife likes to visit each one has something a little different. For convenience and selection Eve's is our Top Choice in Flushing. I have never experienced such poor service. The security guard didn't see anything and accused me of stealing. The most ridiculous thing is that he slandered me for stealing a $3.99 false eyelashes. He had no evidence and even restricted my personal freedom. The Spanish saleswoman was also very rude. Not racist. She refused to listen to me and my friends, thinking people our age stole a lot and we are one of them. She even felt that she was older than me so she could accuse us indiscriminately. I think they may be racially discriminatory, because there are only three Chinese people since we entered the store. They didn't even suspect other foreigners my age. They probably think I'm a teenager and that's all they can do to slander me. Then their manager watched the monitor for 30 minutes, and my friend and I were in that store for 2 hours. They sell wigs and hair extensions and etc here as well, you just have to find a salesgirl to help you and put on the skull cap before you try it on. they have a lot of hair brushes, course you can't try them before you buy them, which makes sense, but ppl do anyways, which is why i don't understand why they don't just wrap them so ppl can't try them. most of their other products are mainstream products you can get at duane reede for less. The assistants and owner there are super UNHELPFUL!!! I was with my gf to try some wigs. The owner stood by the door and was suspicious of everyone as he walked around and peeked into each aisle frequently. The assistant never even smiled, as if we owed her $200. You put the wig high above so nobody can reach, you don't allow people use your stairs, bow you are limiting the trials?? This is a smaller shop compared to Eve Beauty Lounge across the street, but was well stocked when I was looking for Biosilk Silk Therapy and Eve Beauty Lounge didn't have it in stock. I know that I am a Hispanic and not the typical orientation found in Flushing and because of that I've been followed and not helped. I'm pretty sure if you're going to follow me around just because I'm Hispanic and not my Asian friends, the least you can do is only have one person follow me. This is the WORST store that I have ever been in. Never in my life have I met such ridiculous people. My mom bought a facial scrub for 2.99 by accident from them and went 3 days later to exchange for the peel. It was unused and never ever opened by us. She had the receipt and she was not allowed to exchange because the lady said she had used the scrub at home. When my mom stated that it hasn't been used, another lady comes with a bottle from their store. They begin to squeeze and feel the bottles to determine whether there was a difference. They then call out a man, which was the manager, and he too brings out ANOTHER bottle and starts comparing the 3 bottles. My mom does not speak English so she could not defend herself properly. When I heard this from my mom, I went straight to the store the next day to complain. I asked for the manager and he first accused me of lying, stating that the bottle i brought in was not the one my mom bought. I argued with the manager and he starts comparing multiple bottles again. My bottle had CLEARLY not been used because when he squeezed a little, a whole blob of product came out. I told him I do not need to compare bottles because I was not there to exchange or get my money back. All I wanted to do was to defend my mom rightfully. I could not understand why you would accuse a customer of already using a product after they insisted that they did not. The item was only 2.99 and instead of just cooperating, they were willing to cause a whole scene in front of other customers and also lose me, my family, and all my friends as customers. If the item really had been used, would I be crazy enough to come back the next day to argue and waste my time again? The workers walk around the aisles and follow people around to see if they are trying their products. I suggested to the manager that if they are going to be paranoid like this, they need to seal all their products or put up locks. I agree with the reviewer below who wrote that if they don't allow you to try items (which is understandable) and are SO DAMN ANAL about it, then why not just wrap everything up instead of having your workers spying on everyone in the store?! They also need to take off their 7 day exchange policy if they are going to accuse their customers of using their products. I will be reporting this business and I will never step another foot in this store again. The most ridiculous, mindless person/manager that I have ever met. If you want to go to a place where items are overpriced and have workers looking at you and can't even open up a bottle of lotion to smell it, then I suggest you go here. Ok. The store is cramped with stuff everywhere. I didn't have any problems with the sales people. I found them helpful, but not as friendly as the other stores. I told them what I was looking for and they directed me right to items. A sales person even came up to me with a basket for my items and instead of following me around, she said she would help me if I wanted and when I told her I wanted to browse, she pointed to where she would be and left me alone. If you know what you are looking for and don't mind a messy store, they have a good selection of beauty items at reasonable prices. Plenty of sheet masks for $1. Great selection of Korean, American, and I guess Chinese hair products (sorry, not familiar). They didn't have my Japanese shampoo. Ended up with masks, r&b spray for $12 (over $20 at salon), ceramic brushes(great prices). Cons..brushes are not wrapped. Ended up soaking them when I got home. I do not recommend this place. This store is very cramped & products are too expensive. I recently purchased an item and when I arrived home realized it wasn't the correct one. The receipt clearly states "EXCHANGE Only within 7 days..." so I decided to go the next day. When I went up to the cashier she responded (nervously) that she had to speak to her boss Mr. Jay Yang (store manager) before making the exchange. She seemed scared to ask her boss. So I went up to him myself and was appalled by how rude this man was (no wonder his employee was scared). I've never been treated so poorly. Not only did he treat me unprofessionally, he did not let me exchange. He then handed me his business card and told me to go ahead and place a bad review online and that he didn't care. My wife purchase a "Hair Dryer" on December 31,2011. She began to use it on the 4th of January 2012. All of a sudden the hair dryer stop working. On Friday she attempted to exchanged the product & was advised by the store manager the 7 days are up. As you can see from the above date, we were still within the 7 days. Plus, due to the Holiday of January 1st, it allow us to have an extra day. We were very disappointed that they were only concern with the money and not trying to help us. We were willing to upgrade the dryer to a more expensive product but they refused. Next, my wife had visited the local police station & spoke with a Asian officer who in turn supported the store. As we were walking away, we next ask another office who were not Asian & he agreed with our argument that one should not count the day the item was purchased & plus the 1st of January was a Holiday. He next advised us to pursue this matter in small claim court. Our advise to you, *DO NOT BUY ANY LARGE PRODUCT IN DEPARTMENT STORE.
