I was on the freeway yesterday and one of my tires nearly completely delaminated and came apart…read more Thankfully there was a Discount Tire close by so I carefully made my way there and that's when I met Steve. Steve was such a professional during my entire experience. He walked out to my vehicle with me and not only looked at my damaged tire but also checked the other three tires as well. We went back inside and I mentioned to him that I prefer to use Michelin tires because they have always served me well. He showed me his screen and explained to me that for my specific vehicle the Michelin tires are not rated as highly as some other options. He explained that if I was dead set on Michelin tires he would certainly put them on for me but there were better options available. So I went with the highest rated tires for my vehicle because It's my business vehicle and I wanted the best tires possible. I gladly paid up and they got me out of there that same day. Overall Steve was such a breath of fresh air. I was a nervous wreck because my vehicle is my lifeline and without it I am sunk. Then they charged me to balance them again, even though this was their fault. I recently just had them put another set of tires on one of our company vehicles and two out of four of the valve stems went bad and of course they wanted to charge an additional $15 for their mistake. After exhausting every resource in the area over a week, I contacted a friend who owns CMH Auto in Niagara. Phil found the situation ridiculous and offered to help, but it meant driving four days with three worn tires with 55,000 miles on them, a risk I couldn't take. As a last resort, teary-eyed, I pleaded with the service manager, Dave Sleater, at Wheel Specialists to see what he could do. He asked me to leave it with him, and my wife and I took an Uber home. Within the hour, he called to say it was done, and the relief I felt was incredible. After a week of frustration, I finally found my savior. When I went to pick up the vehicle and expressed my gratitude to Dave, I noticed his two cut knuckles. He said he did the work himself--it wasn't easy, going through four sockets and scraping his knuckles a few times.
