I have stopped here on only two occasions and had bad-moderately well service depending on the experience. Either way, with the new renovation, and the seemingly new set of staff, I'm confident that three stars suits this store well. While not the newest, this store was renovated recently and is sometimes a goldmine for a specific (and popular) sneaker or shoe, due to their location in the deserted Westgate Mall. On both occasions I have made special trips into this mall just to come here and just a particular pair of shoes they had in stock in my size that none of the other Famous Footwear locations had. Around the summertime they normally have sandals, and if you shop smart, they nearly always have coupons available to use (and when I called here recently and asked if they would accept a coupon that clearly said on it that it was only eligible at the new Braintree store, they had no issue accepting it here). Manager is friendly and in general staff are as well, and having staff always around to help is a plus. Decent enough store in a low-volume mall. 3 stars.

There was another customer in the store who was telling my friend and me that she buys from there a lot and the clothes are long-lasting which tells me that the stuff here is of good quality. They had some accessories as well such as jewelry. I had already spent a bit more than I had planned to at another store in the mall so I actually didn't end up buying anything here but it was very fun to look around and I did see a few tops that I liked. However they really need to train their staff a little better, they had only 2 sales people on the registers that were dealing with difficult transactions when they clearly could and should have open the 3rd one. When it was finally my turn, I guess I had the Assistant manager helping me. Only because the other salesperson kept interrupting my transaction asking for help & she would stop to help her. They are super clean, organized, and have fitting rooms. The staff usually has someone tell you the sales for the day and are ready to help you find any pants or tops, sizes and colors you may need. Upon walking into this store, however, all the effort it took to get here became worth it. The interior is warm, well-kept, and welcoming. I found a pair of shoes that were already on sale for a great price. When I got to the checkout counter, I had the good fortune of interacting with a truly lovely saleswoman. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name. She greeted us with a genuinely warm smile, and was even nice enough to ask me if I was a student, which got me another 15% off the already discounted price! This level of customer service is what has brought me back to this location when I want something new from Madewell. Five stars.

For my shopping "tastes", this store is just too vast and overwhelming. It is a sea of merchandise. Well organized yes but just way too much stuff to take in. Despite all the "stuff" I didn't see bargains of any note...in fact...and this could just be me ...but I was astonished to see Nike women's sweatpants for $110.00. That seems like a lot of dough to lay out for sweatpants. I'd skip the name brand and the Nike logo and look for another deal. Better yet, don't wear sweatpants unless you're in the gym or running outside on a cold day as I am not sure who they are flattering on and I am so over seeing people running around everywhere in ill-fitting sloppy looking gym-wear. But for the gym-goers, and exercisers of all kinds, you will find all manner of clothing and equipment here...a fairly comprehensive seeming selection whatever your sport of choice might be. They also sell, t-shirts, specialized sports' shoes, lots of coolers and water bottles including the in my opinion ridiculous looking and now viral Stanley water bottles that everyone seems to be lugging around...tons of those! (I just read that in California there is a class action suit pending on these Stanley water bottles as the company has acknowledged the sealing material used for its vacuum insulation contains lead). I didn't see many staff throughout the store. The staff I did see seemed to be congregating up front so if I had had a question there would have been no one to ask without traipsing back up to the front where the registers are. And in a store as large as this, that's a pain. There are so many other places to get most of the things sold here but with better service and for me, with a more manageable store footprint and experience. If I'm not going to get a bargain, I'd rather spend my money at a smaller store with attentive service. I recently ordered clothes online from Gap and Old Navy, for my children. Both orders were canceled…read moredue to items not being in stock. Both times, there was no email, or communication sent that either order was canceled. When I spoke with Old Navy today, I was told they don't deal with those issues. When "transferred" to who does, I was disconnected. That is horrible customer service. I was left waiting for two packages that were never coming. While I was checking to see when they were arriving, it would be really nice to send a customer something saying the order was canceled.
