Hands down Awesome! I had an older irrigation system in the front yard with broken parts that partially worked and another is the backyard that has not worked in at least a year and I was prepared for replacing at least one system. Elmer showed up, on time, with his crew and told me that he could make repairs. He finished the front yard that day. Unfortunately I needed a new electrical outlet in the backyard to get that system working. Elmer is a licensed C-27 Landscaping contractor so he was able to arrange for a licensed electrician to do what I needed to get done in the backyard and approve his workforce my project. I've had Elmer come out three times to work on my irrigation system, and that's because he's dependable. The first time he came out was to replace a line I had busted as a result of pulling weeds. I called him that morning and he was out the same afternoon repairing what I had damaged. When I needed two of my irrigation valves replaced, he came back out and tackled the problem. By chance the irrigation valves he replaced were causing problems in the form of a loud thud whenever the sprinklers would transition from the front lawn to the back. This was a result of the pressure and design of the irrigation valves. Elmer came back out on his own time and replaced the problematic irrigation valves with a new set, which addressed the problem. Elmer is great. I had a 3 zones not working due to some wiring issues. It was a wild goose chase looking for wires underground and a "missing" valve to troubleshoot. We were ready to pack it in for the day but Elmer couldn't leave without finding our missing valve. He found it buried in some bushes and troubleshooted the wiring and solved our problem on the 3 zones. He was easy to communicate with via text, friendly, and prompt. read more

I used Elmer Cruz to replace my sprinkler control box and a valve in Redondo Beach over a year ago. He did the work and it is still working. I recently called him for another sprinkler problem and he told me to text him the address and he would schedule an appointment for the next week. After a few days went by he did not schedule an appointment or contact me. I sent him a text saying I needed to have a set day the following week and to let me know by the end of the day. He didn't get back to me and so I took my business elsewhere. I don't like the runaround I got from him. Apparently he thinks his time is that all that matters. read more

I am very happy to add to Elmer's many 5 star reviews. Our backyard drain was clogged and two plumbers and hydrojetting was not clearing it. While this may not sound like a big deal, it was weighing on me because this past year with heavy rains, our backyard was one big swimming pool with water getting uncomfortably close to entering our living room. Several other contractors made bids but then either disappeared or would only offer to fix part of the problem ( for example would do masonry but not the plumbing work )and stated that my hardscape needed to be torn up or trees removed to fix the issue without putting much time or effort into verifying the issue. Elmer was the only one to spend time questioning the source of the problem and actually tested the drain , running water, and to consider different approaches to the problem depending on what he found on exploration. He prepared me to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. He showed up on time on the scheduled day with a crew of 3 guys. They were polite, hard working and very neat and respectful of the property. They cleared the drain fairly quickly and found the odd route that it runs. I was lucky - no trees needed to be removed and no hardscape needed to be torn up. He identified an issue that would decrease the risk of flooding further in the future and he and his team completed that fix after a full day's work, and also replaced a plastic shut off valve with a metal handle shut off that feels much more durable. His team swept up any remnants of their digging, and they even used touch up paint for a minor area of fence trim. I was impressed. If you want someone who is honest, invested in doing a good job for you, collaborates well with his team to problem solve, is reliable and good at his job, don't hesitate to call Elmer at EC Irrigation Repair. I am so glad I did and grateful to the other contractors who flaked on me after giving me an estimate on this job, so that I could be lucky enough to find Elmer to do the job right. The back yard sprinkler PVC pipe was busted last year from having a tree taken out. I took a photo and texted it to Elmer and he quoted me a very reasonable price over the phone. He came out a few days later and fixed it very quickly. He turned on all the sprinklers to check that all the sprinkler heads were working properly and found other problems that he easily repaired. Elmer is great! He came and repaired a complex metal type of sprinkler valve that I have. He quoted me a great price over text. When he got to my place and realized it was a little more complex than he originally thought, he was nice enough to still honor that price. He also install a check valve on one of my other sprinkler valves even though it wasn't supposed to be part of the price originally. I had tried to give him some more work replacing sprinkler heads, but he was honest and told me that he thought replacing my sprinkler heads was a bad idea because he risked damaging galvanized pipe. He came up with an alternate plan that he thought was safer and better, even though he couldn't do it himself (needed a plumber) and it made him losing money/work. They were very reasonable with pricing, also made a suggestion on types of future valves to use to avoid problems.
