We've worked with Julio and his team on several projects over the past couple of years and they've consistently met our expectations. They helped us update our backyard by installing decomposed granite around a large tree, pouring a concrete slab, and landscaping the surrounding area. Julio and his office manager Carmen were the first to contact me after I made a few calls off the list Yelp provided me for lawn replacement and landscaping services. My front yard was in need of major TLC and I wanted to get this done before the heat started up for the summer. Julio was out the following day to survey my job and I am pretty intuitive and I had good vibes from Julio upon his arrival and talking to him for awhile. When Julio quoted me on new grass and sprinkler service I wasn't sure what the going rate is these days... It's not something you do very often and I had no idea but I did ask Julio if he was confident with the price he was quoting and with zero hesitation he replied "Yes". This is what I do and for a long long time and you can believe that I will do an excellent job for you. Right then and there we shook hands and he was back the next day prepping my front yard, fixing the sprinker piping, replacing sprinkler heads, new borders around flower bed (Not Included) and installing a new sprinker timer system all while prepping for the new grass to be delivered the next day. In just wo days I had beautiful new grass and we were very happy with the work Julio had provided. My neighbors were almost as happy as we were. I told Julio that I never got another quote because I knew he would follow thru. And that he did... Unfortunately, we got a bad batch of grass. Friday they had installed the grass and over the weekend the grass had started dying. But I believed it would come back and by Monday night it was brown. Fortunately, I called Carmen and Julio showed up on Tuesday to evaluate the situation. With no hesitation, Julio made a call and told me not to worry. We will remove the bad grass and install new grass in two days. In two days Julio and his team came back and did just as he had promised. Julio is a man of his word and can back it with happy customers like us. Grass is as gorgeous as gorgeous can be. But the best thing was the professionalism and work ethic of Julio and his crew. Julio was so communicative about everything from the start, from the initial meeting for a quote to the final checks at the end of the project. He was here everyday working with his crew and was so easy to work with. He was quick with information and estimates, even calling the utilities and city for us regarding lines and permit needs. Been meaning to write an update. We originally had Castillo Landscaping remove our grass and put in DG . Two years later we were tired of the upkeep with weeds after a rainy winter so we called them up again to do our concrete. JR is always great at communicating and came by 3-4 times to check in and work ideas with us. He was patient as we decided what we wanted to do based on our budget. The concrete and curb planter look great and we still have a planting space but its a way better space for our toddler. We love it so much and are so grateful for the whole team that came by and made our space usable. We extended our San Augustine grass area for the kids and he installed commercial gopher mesh with timer ran sprinklers. He installed professional Ortho Villa in Manor pavers giving us a generous hardscape for entertaining. Im a little late in posting this but its long over due. We couldn't be happier with how our backyard turned out. It started off as a bunch of dead grass and weeds. A couple of weeks of hard and detailed work later and we can finally enjoy our house to the fullest. They were able to strip away the grass, weeds, undesired plants, and a ton of dirt... trim down our tree... demolish and take away an old brick divider... set up a retaining wall with character... lay down DG, play area bark, and artificial turf... set up an auto sprinkler system... Could not get the work started. First I gave an outline of work to be done through YELP requirement page like I did with all other vendors. Castillo asked me to call them in response or send more details. I called and briefly described again what I needed done. They said I have to send in a design first and they will send me a preliminary quote. They were on time and did a great job. We had them replace all our sprinkler heads and valves and of course new sod for the back yard.
