We opted for the MSI putting turf with fringe pet turf as we have a dog and maintenance would be easier. They were able to get us quickly scheduled and got it done in just one day. They took care of excavating the original grass, digging out a few inches of dirt, covered it with a weed prevention layer, then filled it in with gravel and leveled it out. Then they were able to install our putting green design we discussed with beautiful curved edges. We had a water drain running underneath already and they were able to connect to it to help with water drainage in case of heavy rain. Overall, we absolutely loved the end result and spend so much more time in our backyard practicing our putts and even short chipping from a nearby mat. With less maintenance and noticeably less bugs we even have movie nights here and the turf has held up well. Worth the money and long term investment as we got more usable space for the family with rates below the average costs in LA.

He came to my house for the scheduled consultation and gave me the best price. After seeing my lawn, I asked if he could fix my sprinkler and lay out landscape fabric and mulch to prevent weeds and maintenance. He said he would measure what I need once he finishes the lawn cleanup, which I liked. The day came, and he cut my grass and cleaned up the weeds in my lawn. He also capped a broken irrigation line I had from the previous owner of the house without any issues and installed the new sprinkler I had mentioned. He measured my lawn and gave me the price for the mulch with a landscape barrier. I agreed, and he went to Home Depot to pick up the materials in his truck. When he came back, he laid down the barrier and mulch to perfection. He also went the extra mile by removing the sprinkler heads that aren't needed anymore, which I appreciate about him. All in all, Tony is the man for the job. He's easy to communicate with, and he works hard. I will recommend him to my neighbor, who is looking for a new gardener, and will hire him again for my next lawn project. Thanks, Tony!

I ask them to keep going with a methodical removal. They say no, because Jose told them to stop. I call Jose and ask if they can continue with the slow but steady removal. He says no. It's unbelievable that I'm paying them to maintain my garden, but by saying no their up charge, he now REFUSES TO MAINTAIN A PLANT THAT'S PART OF THE GARDEN!? Unbelievably unprofessional. Julio and his team did an outstanding job in completely renovating our front yard. He was very thorough and communicative through the entire process. He walked us through all of our options and his recommendations. He also coordinated with the hardscape team to ensure the entire project was well coordinated. We had artificial turf installed and he went out of his way to show us multiple options including allowing use to see previous installs in person with the owner's permission. The installation went well and he accommodated a last minute request to add stepping pads embedded on a section of the turf. He and his team are perfectionists and took great care to ensure the turf, planters and planter irrigation systems were done right. Highly recommend them for your landscape project. Julio Castillo showed up on time to give us an estimate for a back patio, partial walkway, entrance walkway and a repair. Julio was very professional and answered all of our questions. He always responded via text or phone when we had additional questions. The entire project took about 10 days (Delays because of the heavy rain). The project was organized and went smoothly. They redid a brick walkway, installed square concrete slabs, installed DG, redid the irrigation/ sprinkler system. We are very pleased with Julio's sprinkler repair. He took the time to show us his work, test out different sprinkler heads and adjust them for best coverage. He also explained how our irrigation system and timer worked. He also did some tree trimming and removal for us. He then pruned some of our shrubs and edged our lawn just to make everything look nice and neat after the clean up. This was a prompt and professional service. Thanks, Julio! read more

He is friendly, honest, easy to talk to ,and knows his plants! We had a drip system installed and new plants put in four planter boxes in the front yard. Looks great. In the backyard, a drip system was installed and new rock was put in the planter box.There were 2 incidents with the backyard project that left me unhappy. The first one was the wrong rock was being put in. I told the crew to stop and I called Sal. He and Johnny were on it immediately. Sal had the crew remove the rock, he found a new place that had the rock i wanted and it was delivered and the crew put it in. That was a long hard day of work for them. The next day I noticed a small area did not get the new rock and my planter was damaged. I called Sal, sent him photos of the planter and rock. He said he would take care of it and he did! the next morning Johnny and crew were back bright and early with more rock and materials to fix the planter. Sal is a man of his word.He takes pride in his work and wants his customers happy. If you are not happy with something, Sal makes it right. I highly recommend MC Landscaping. I had to have a cinderblock wall added to and 16 podocarpus trees planted on my side yard. The wall turned out great and was completed within 2 days and all of the trees, plus the wood planter border were completed in one day!!!! Unbelievable! I would love to give this company a better review and am happy to edit it if things change…read more So let me tell you the reason for the 2 star review and why it may be so different then the norm. I hired De'Guerrero Design in late October to do a front year makeover. What was requried in the makeover is as follows: 1. taking out a lot of dirt, some big rocks, and some dead plants from our front yard. 2. prepare the ground and put pavers along with rocks in 2 area, and in the third area (largest) put in artificial turf. 3. build a fence with a gate (3 foot tall) made of metal supports and wood slats. 4. Putting in a larger gate to replace one we already had to match the new fence going in. (what I thought was part of the project but ended up not part of it... see later notes on this) I also made it very clear when in conversation with them and other competitors that everything needs to be 100% done and fixed by Thanksgiving as we are having a large gathering at our place and we wanted it to look great by that time. They agreed to this and said it would be no problem to have everything done and good before then. First day they said they were going to start they showed up at around 3 pm and were there for a few hours before finishing. This isn't a bad thing, just a note. As long as things finish when they say the are going to, all is good. Things proceeded pretty well for the most part. 1st problem came when they started bringing the fence in. It was made as I said, but they said they they "added" a bottom horizontal slat (which I stated from the beginning saying I wanted) and because they added that from the original design, it was going to be an extra $400 from quoted, which I didn't quite understand because that is how I explained I wanted the fence originally. This wasn't a huge deal though, as I am used to changes in costs as construction is done. 2nd problem: As stated in point 4 of original plan, I expected that the quote included replacing the larger gate door to match the fence that they were putting in. They put a gate into our contract but they argued that that was the small gate in the front of the fence and adding a matching gate to replace our gate would cost an addition $1,500-$2,000, which was outside of our budget so we declined. Even with those two things, everything else seemed to be going well, they were working fast, and replied quickly with their communications. They have said many times that they would not be done till we were completely happy. They finished Friday, November 7th. Well I say finished in the sense that everything was put in. However, there were a few problems. Problems they said they would fix as it was their fault. Here are the problems that have happened only a few days after installing the fence. There were a few other problems, but they fixed them, like they installed the door handle incorrectly and they forgot to make a hole for the handle. The following problems have yet to be fixed 1. Bent boards. There are two boards that are bent out about 4 inches past the rest of the boards. 2. Before staining and installing the boards, they didn't think to take off all the labeling on the wood, such as skew marks, company labels and the such. There are 7 on the outside and 6 on the inside. This totaled 13 in all. 3. the metal has already started to scratch and rust due to normal wear and tear. like closing the door. This is 1 week after installation. There was another spot they scratched up from their installation as well. I communicated this from 11/6- 11/8. I was promised multiple times that it would be finished before Thanksgiving. The first promise was for 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, Then they said, they were busy with other clients and would help me the following week (1 week before Thanksgiving) and still promising it would be done before Thanksgiving. That week before (11/17-11/24) they didn't reply till Wednesday saying they would be there later in the week. They never came. I asked several times with no response till the day before Thanksgiving (11/26) asking for specific numbers and pictures of what needs to replace and to send it to another number. I sent it to both the new number as well as the one I have been in communication since. After this, they have been ghosting me and for 5 days now I have tried to call and text (leaving voicemails as well) trying to get a hold them but have received nothing back. I have not been rude in any of this and have been asking kindly and they have yet to fulfill many of their promises. It is now 12/1 in the evening and no response from them as of yet. I will update this post as well as change the stars if any of this changes and if they are able to fix their mistakes. Here's to hoping they will. I guess my lesson for the day is never give final payment before they have fixed the issues they have messed up and in that I will say that was my mistake.

We had him remove 2 trees and three stumps, grass removal, at least 100 linear ft of concrete planters, random plants, a lot of pavers, and cut our patio slab open and replace it once we updated our plumbing, gas, and electrical.
