I had 2 medium-sized fruit trees I needed to transfer from my parent's home in Southeast San Diego to mine in North County. I took pictures and he gave us a very reasonable price. We also decided to also add another service to take out our palm tree. There were a couple of mishaps such as: The day he was scheduled to take out the palm tree, he was a no-show and my husband had to call him an hour after he was supposed to arrive. Then, the day after that incident, was the fruit tree transfer. He and his team forgot to bring their dolly. Thank goodness my Dad had one so they borrowed it, but now we have the burden in taking it back. Despite these mishaps, Noe was very knowledgeable and professional in his mannerisms. The day of the fruit tree transfer, he and his team arrived in a timely manner, was efficient and did a great job overall. We were very pleased and will definitely use him again if we have another project.

All of the plants that they chose for our yard are so beautiful and unique. Everyone that comes by wants to know what each plant is called because they aren't the very common yard plants that everyone has...they are so interesting! They chose the foliage specifically for what they knew would grow well in our area and with the sunlight for each side of the house. Thoughtfulness went into every aspect of each item they added...from the plants, to the wood and stone for the built in bbq, the special market lights (that are really unique and fun), all the way to the treated concrete. COVID put the person I always used in the past, so I searched for someone new. When Thomas came out, he listened to me and explained why I didn't need that service. He explained how each clump of blades is an individual plant, taking tens of thousands of plants to make up my yard. We even discussed where Bermuda grass was slowly taking over in one area of the yard. Because of his knowledge and how he explained things, I decided to give him a chance to do what he suggested. Power seed and fertilize, followed by a fertilization and soil treatment one month later. For the price, I thought if it worked, it was a good value, and if it didn't, I would find someone to aerate in the fall. I can not be happier. The Bermuda grass area has shrunk over ninety percent in three months. The lawn is thicker than I ever had it in the past, and I will admit greener than I would get, and I took pride in how green my grass stayed. The long stretch is what I call the dog run. My eighty-pound German Shepherd and I run up and back along this stretch of grass during two daily play sessions (morning and afternoon). The other photo is a patch of grass with minimal traffic unless we have a party with kids. Ginger is trained not to tinkle on any of the grass;) I say in closing, in a light-spirited manner, give Thomas a call because the grass is greener, thicker, and healthier on my side of the fence neighbor:).

Originally, I was recommending this company to others, including local wineries, of which I will no longer be doing. I even wrote a previous stellar review. I will however highly recommend anyone interested in using this company to make sure the job is completed prior to final payment. I've attempted contacting the owner since March **multiple** times to no avail. The job was supposed to be completed nearly a year ago. I have stone falling off walls and steps, screws showing through stucco, gates falling off, a vinyl fence leaning which makes the gate not open all the way, irrigation that was leaking and caused significant water loss and other runoff damage, expensive landscape lighting not hooked up properly or at all (wires not connected and just laying under the dirt), all of which I am now paying someone else to fix. Things that should have been completed upon my (not inexpensive) payment to Eddie. Seeing how quickly the new person is resolving these issues is also frustrating because it seems as though it would have been so simple for Eccentric to resolve. A simple response to my messages would have been professional and nice as well. I have been extremely kind, patient and have tried to be understanding but with no replies to my multiple messages, feeling completely ignored and seeing them completing other work is upsetting to say the least. I'm happy to see that they're so busy, but I paid, expected and wanted the job to be complete. read more

We found Eddie at Eccentric Landscape Designs through a neighborhood referral, and we are so glad we did! Having worked with many contractors while updating our '80s house, Eddie was by far the best. He spent hours with us discussing our vision for the yard and was genuinely attentive to our concerns about water conservation. Eddie recommended a beautiful drought-tolerant ground cover (kurapia) that perfectly fits our needs and looks amazing. He also suggested pavers that matched our existing Belgard pavers, creating a seamless, cohesive look. Eddie went above and beyond by giving the front yard a fresh layer of mulch and even returned to ensure the sprinklers were functioning properly and covering the newly sodded areas. Eddie's team was equally impressive. They were professional, on time, and left the work area spotless each day. After meeting with several high-pressure landscaping companies, working with Dan was a breath of fresh air. Once the project started, we met Hector, the foreman, along with Tito and Marcos. They are hardworking, genuine people who clearly enjoy what they do. Over the two-week project they removed heavy roots, took down a large tree, prepared the ground, installed plants, created a beautiful rock garden, added a sprinkler system and lighting, and repaired and painted the fences. Our backyard was transformed from a messy "jungle" into a neat, beautiful oasis. Holy smokes these people work hard!!…read more I had a mess in the front yard, but the back was insane. Ficus trees that were huge and dense (couldn't walk under or see through) with one encroaching on the house. Palms that were sprouting little palms growing where they shouldn't, and weeds...omigosh, the weeds were just depressing in how quickly they sprouted up during one rain, and they were _everywhere_. Plus, in several places, the irrigation was broken. Just looking at this mess was stressful. Mr. Martinez showed how the dense growth of the ficus -- no sunlight, no air -- caused the leaves to be mossy and generally unhealthy. He made other helpful observations during the initial walk-through as well. In the end, his crew needed only two full days (one day plus two half-days) to clean it all up. ALL the weeds: gone...including the ones that tried to masquerade as trees. All the bushes: neatly trimmed. The big ficus trees: neatly cut back and airy (by an arborist). The palms cut back. (And the grossly-overgrown saguaro palms in front, removed.) Dead trees removed. Mulch and wood chips in front. Plus, being that Mr. Martinez is a general contractor, they got a painter to paint the shutters requested by the HOA some time ago. Just a stunning amount of work. Two days. And now the back is almost like a Zen garden (minus the sand and rake) in the feeling of calm and peace that it inspires. Not cheap. But holy smokes are they good.

The fire pit installed by this company exploded into my girlfriend's face. We had an independent professional company come out to inspect the unit and the gas line. Their findings were shocking: the gas connection was completely loose. This negligence allowed gas to build up inside the fire pit structure, which caused it to explode upon ignition. Because of the physical injuries sustained and the absolute gross negligence regarding a gas installation, we are now taking this company to litigation. If you value the safety of your home and your family, stay far away from this business. A "loose connection" on a gas line is not just a mistake--it is a deadly hazard. We are currently in the process of legal action to hold them accountable for the damage and trauma they have caused. Zero stars. Avoid at all costs.

He wanted to charge a fee to come out & fix his shotty work. In addition, we had some concrete installed in our courtyard, and the concrete was uneven. We are installing tile in the same area and had to pay an extra $2000 to get it fixed. Highly disappointed in Jose's work, and wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
