The atmosphere is incredible--the theme, décor, and colors perfectly reflect the restaurant's name and create such a fun, welcoming experience. We loved taking a trip down memory lane with the music and all of the nostalgic DJ-inspired touches. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch from beginning to end. What stood out most was the owner. She made it a point to ensure every guest was enjoying their experience. You could see her watching customers' expressions as they tasted their meals, looking for smiles and signs of satisfaction. It was obvious that she genuinely cares about her guests and has poured her heart into every detail of the restaurant. Whenever I travel, I make it a point to visit at least one Black owned business in the city. After canceling my original brunch plans at a popular restaurant on the Strip, I came across Echo Taste and Sound in the Arts District and decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. I was greeted by Sierra, and Blade and Jay took care of me throughout brunch, one handling drinks and the other food. Everyone I encountered was welcoming and attentive. The music was amazing and really added to the atmosphere. I also appreciated seeing the owner and chef right there in the restaurant, putting on vinyl, interacting with guests, and even helping bus tables. You could see the passion behind the concept in real time. I started with the fried deviled eggs, and they were easily a 10 out of 10. Such a good appetizer and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the pork chop with eggs and potatoes and added a side of grits. The grits were absolutely delicious. I learned that I am simply not much of a pork chop person, so while it was prepared well, I do wish the steak was still on the menu. The unexpected star of the table was my mom's chicken and rice soup. It tasted homemade, and the chicken had this wonderfully seasoned, almost grilled or smoked flavor. After trying hers, I honestly wished I had ordered it myself. The menu is not huge, but there is enough variety to find something to enjoy. First of all, SUCH a cute place. When you walk in you see the bar and all their different glasses. And they also have a little couch/DJ area that is very picturesque. Aside from bar-seating they have mostly smaller tables. But I came here for a birthday brunch, they were easily able to accommodate our party of 7. Servers were very nice but also VERY slow. It took a long time for us to get waters, get our order taken, and get the food. Once everything came though, it all tasted great! No complaints at all about any of the food/cocktails. The truffle egg sandwich I got was so flavorful and all their textures of the sandwich paired well with the fluffy but well-toasted ciabatta! I would get the same thing all over again. read more

We had such a great time! We were hopping around the area on 4th of July weekend and first Friday and popped in here since it was right next to our final spot. This was our favorite place of the night! It was probably somewhere between 10pm and 11pm when we got there and it was super chill! The lighting, the vibe, the atmosphere, I loved it! It felt very lounge like. Our service was phenomenal! Our guy was very nice and very attentive. We ordered 2 drinks each with some time before last call. My drink was bomb, I got the fields of gold and on the 2nd round 1 of the girls switched to what I got. It was sweet and delicious! We loved it so much we were there until close to closing up. Looking at the different menus here on Yelp, I had no idea they were like a full service restaurant, I assumed bar. Bathrooms were clean, they sell vinyls in the back, and everyone we interacted with was very nice. We ended up coming back last weekend and had the same staff and same exceptional service! We got the papas bravas for food and it was delicious, also got fields of gold again. I tried the little red rooster also and it was refreshing! They also had a live dj, so it was a good time. We've been wanting to come out to Echo - Taste & Sound for a hot minute, and FINALLY got to come out last weekend for a friend's birthday brunch! Echo has events that rotate out, and this Sunday, a friend of ours happened to be performing his Retro Brunch set with live DJ and drumming. Morgan and I got there early and had a drink while we waited for our reservation time. The bartender was an absolute gem. She was super friendly, and makes a mean cocktail!! Drinks were stellar. Standard price for downtown (a little spendy, but in this instance, worth it.) For drinks we ordered: Autumn Serenade: vodka, St. George spiced pear, absinthe, peach nectar, ginger beer Lover Boy: rye whiskey, angostura bitters, orange bitters Neon Tiger: hendrick's gin, yellow chartreuse, campari and an Espresso Martini. My favorites were the Espresso Martini (best in town!) and the Autumn Serenade. So amazing! For food, I had the shrimp and grits, which was ENORMOUS and absolutely delicious. Do I wish that the shrimp were a little bigger? Sure. But that's if I'm being super picky. I am picky about my grits, and these were amazing. I definitely ate more than I should have because they were so flavorful. Morgan ordered the pan fried pork chops and eggs. These were really yummy! Not a huge pork chop fan, and they were done beautifully. The potatoes were phenomenal, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. We also ordered the deviled eggs, and they were so good. Morgan doesn't really eat mayo, and he loved these. A must order. Our friend's mom also offered us a taste of the beignets, and they were light, pillowy, and so good. Both sauces were crave worthy. This is a spot that I've been wanting to go to since they opened. Echo-Taste & Sound is the type of spot you go to just chill and listen to some good music. Vinyl is the name of the game and old high end analog equipment is technology of choice. It works very well. Echo is such a vibe..when you walk in you're greeted by a wall of healthy and happy plants to your left and a modernly lit and gorgeous full bar to your right. By night, DJs spin live records that set the perfect atmosphere and by day it transforms into a lil brunch spot. When we went they were spinning more oldies and 90s r&b and hip hop. My favorites about the space is that it was filled with lush, oversized plants and has cozy seating + just the right amount of intimacy. The bar and cocktail menu delivers and the bartender made an amazing carajillo and a perfect dirty martini!! I also tried the Walk the Line from their cocktail menu and it was a little spicy, but tasty. The staff - shoutout to Mandy who checked us in and Bre who waited our table - are absolute gems and make the whole experience even better. The food menu isn't too big, think shareable tapas. We tried and loved the papas bravas but the Mexican shrimp cocktail was a tad too spicy that we probably wouldn't order again (plus our spicy cocktails didn't help). We wanted to try the tomato toast but they were out of it. All in all, Echo is perfect for a quiet but cozy date night, a fun girls' night, or even a solo evening with a book and a little bit of people-watching. I've been told that the pancakes here are the best, and to that I say ditto. Echo - Taste & Sound is a "sensory experience" in Arts District featuring music, drinks, and food. I was looking for something new to try and fortunately noticed that it was the one weekly overlap of Echo's brunch hours and the Arts District free Mon-Fri 11am-2pm parking. Not short on luck on Friday the 13th, I actually found a free parking spot within a block of the restaurant on my first lap around the area. Echo was kinda empty before I got there, so host/server Jay seated me immediately. The music was a bit loud to start, but someone eventually adjusted it down. The playlist of the day seemed to be mostly Motown classics and a couple Norah Jones tunes. The sound quality was great as far as I could tell. I started with Beignets ($12.00), a small but potent appetizer. The little morsels of dough are nicely chewy but still airy, and they went well with both the butterscotch sauce and berry compote. The latter had a great tanginess, so I was very glad to be offered a second portion to take home with leftovers later. Obviously I had to choose the Pancakes and Eggs ($20.00), despite having had a very similar dish elsewhere a mere day ago. This version was way better though. The three pancakes each had a little crispiness but were nicely fluffy inside and rich enough without additional butter. The bacon also had both a light crisp and a soft chew on most of it, making it some of the best thick-cut stuff I've had. The maple syrup was awesome and helped both the pancakes and bacon. The scrambled eggs maybe went a little over in doneness and saltiness, but I was so happy with the rest of the dish that I gave them a pass here. I also tried some of the Breakfast Burrito ($19.00). They actually go the wet burrito route with this, so get your fork and knife ready. I enjoyed the softness of the petite potatoes, the smokiness of the bacon, and the vibrant acidity of the red sauce and pico. The side of beans at various Mexican restaurants is usually boring, but I absolutely loved whatever extra savoriness they instilled in this mix of refried and whole beans. In case you're more capsaicin-tolerant than I am, you can request Cholula, Frank's Red Hot, or Tabasco. The Iwana Drip Coffee ($4.00) was solid and they'll refill it and serve it with both sugar and half and half. Same for the Passion Fruit Iced Tea ($5.00), which has a light flavorful tropical note and no bitterness. Maybe I'll look into some of the cocktails or mocktails on a future visit. Echo is a great brunch spot for Chef Natalie Young's famous pancakes and more, and I was glad to see her in the dining room as I was making my way out. I'll have to come back to try the rest of the menu, and anyone who wants some of the best pancakes around has to come here. read more

This stop set the tone for the night as we set out to enjoy First Friday in the art district. Immediately when we walked in we were formally greeted by the staff. On the left side of the establishment consisted of tables and nice oversized couches to chill and take in the music. Parking was easy on a Friday at 11:30. Tip: There's free on-street parking for locals from 11-2 on weekdays. The music playing was very much my vibe; I heard some Kem, Erykah Badu, and Jodeci. The only downside was that the bottom was a little soggy so I had to eat it upside down. For drink, I got the ube mocktail. Very pretty purple. Slight ube flavor. Refreshing! My friend got the Chicken Club Sandwich with potato salad. I didn't try it myself, but he said it was really good just a little hard to eat because it was so big. This spot is so incredible and yummy! The ambiance in this restaurant is immaculate. The vibes are awesome and moody with the low lighting and the incredible music. The food also is delicious, but it's more appetizers vs. full entrees. Good for a small bite. We got a skewer platter and papas bravas which were both delicious. I also had the Bees Knees drink which was perfect. The service was also great, they were friendly and checked in on us frequently. The seating looked a bit limited. We got there at 5pm on a Friday as we had plans that night. We were greeted promptly and the server was helpful. All the food was delicious and had some unique flavors. WOW! She did it again. I am a fan of Natalie Young and all that she does and has done in her commitment to elevating "cool" and culinary in the Las Vegas valley. The couch and turn table set-up is a transfixing eye candy centerpiece anchoring the entire space of the establishment. It works. It works in a way that makes the space that is not really all that large just flow. Woods, creams, metals, concrete, black, earthy feeling, CA cool. I want to be here and am so happy I am. This is my jam. Prior to the resident DJ arriving to spin out what I am sure are choice tunes, we are listening to everything from Bruce Springsteen to ACDC on the excellent sound system. I am flipping through records for sale in the corner after a quick trip to the restroom that are adding to my enthusiasm of being enveloped by vinyl. I walk away with 3 records on this night. For my collection or a memento to remind me of my first visit to Echo. Dinner is a shared experience between my girlfriend and I. Not one big entree, but this night is more about drinks, talking, listening and sharing. The whole place screams "let your hair down, be real, sink into this space, enjoy this moment and this meal and these drinks." The $5 tomato toast seems out of place and I am expecting to be "vanilla" and boring , but is really the most memorable item for me from the entire night (tomato dip is made in house). And also the Todas Tomas drink. Tequila, cocchi Americano, Montenegro, bitters....delicious and worth the $25 price tag to me the cocktail aficionado....so much so we splurge and order a second round. Sadly, they all closed. Here comes Echo (still in Downtown Las Vegas). We had a brunch reservation today (restaurant etiquette includes showing up within the 10-minute window of your reservation. If you're going to be late, contact the restaurant) to check this place out. We were greeted by the friendly hostess. The place was chill...like a music studio but with food. On the couch is Chef Natalie Young herself. There's a nice collection of vinyls. And the music was absolutely fantastic: "Got Til It's Gone", "Hey Mr. DJ", "The Light", "U Know What's Up". The brunch menu was very simple with only 11 items but somehow, I still found it hard to decide because I wanted to try so many things. Since we had to be somewhere to workout, we narrowed it down to 2 items so we don't feel sick and also giving us reason to come back. Shrimp and Grits: Bacon, two eggs over easy, pico de gallo/butter sauce. A disclaimer found on every Chef Natalie restaurant menu: "modifications politely declined". I have uncommon allergies so, I just have to dodge some of the things I'm allergic to on this dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The whole fish was flavorful and comforting. The bacon adds a nice saltiness and crunch. 4/5 Rice Bowl: You can pick your protein: chicken, wagyu (add $10), or mushroom. I mixed everything together before eating it. The rice itself was full of flavor masking the milder taste of the wagyu. But I ate the wagyu by itself and it had some nice flavor to it - you don't want to over season Wagyu anyway. 4/5 Service from start to finish was fantastic. Oh, no, I would not go back here for the food or the drinks. I hear that they change their menu often and maybe we just got unlucky. We got a chips and dip platter (football Sunday quality served with ruffle chips, disappointing), Mediterranean skewers (6.8/10), and a shrimp ceviche that was served in a glass and tasted like a michelada (disgusting 0/10 and I LOVE ceviche). And for drinks I got a terribly made whiskey sour, there was essentially no froth from the egg whites which makes me think the bartender didn't know proper technique. I was terribly let down by this new vegas bad and will not be returning. Ambiance is beautiful. There was a live band when we went. If you want to go just to listen to some lovely music and have a glass of wine definitely go for it. I've heard brunch is good as well. But for tapas and cocktails I would not. read more

I've been wanting to check Echo out and finally did! Went in for some light bites and tried their crispy mushroom (great recommendation from our server). Got a pineapple margarita, which was very light and refreshing. They did have a Dj playing music, which my husband and I really enjoyed. Check it out if you're ever in the Arts District. read more

I'm constantly asked as an HR professional by new employees, where do you eat? So we decided to share my favorite places but I realized I hadn't stopped by Echo. It's my long standing practice to visit Black owned businesses because I want them to know their community is here. I walked in and was greeted with warm Hospitality. The ambiance and design reminds me of my parents 70s style home. It's familiar sounds makes me miss my father who passed a few years ago. We're southern folks and the hints of soul and neo-soul were like a big hug. I was seated and promptly Jay my waiter came over to greet me. I'm a friendly, small town girl, so I talk to everyone like I know them. We chatted and she made a few suggestions. I got the fired deviled eggs and a mule to start. The devil and eggs made it to my table as I enjoyed the music and set up my camera. Chef Natalie Young came over to say hello and ask me for my order and I got the pancakes. It was nice to see the Chef there. They were cleaning tables and taking orders. When they brought me my plate and it was in fact hot. Pancakes and eggs were perfection! It was yet again familiar but something different. Pancakes had a crisp but a French/european taste. Something amazing and I couldn't quite put my finger on it but will be back again! The eggs brought me home. They needed nothing and that's saying something for a southern girl like myself who will slap honey and ketchup on just about anything. The bacon! About thick as me lol. The space frequently filled with groups of people. The laughter was a nice touch. You can come here alone as the bar is on the right of the entry. I look forward to coming back for the LIVE performances. It's cozy. It's special. I might just become a regular or if anything else a familiar face in swarm of records, deem lights, and good vibes. From the moment you walk in , the vibes are felt. This groovy , eclectic, retro lounge is where it's at! The decor is smashing. The service started off slow & dry but that did eventually change. The food.... The food!! The dipping sauces were delicious, the chicken skewers were juicy & flavorful, the tomato bread had the perfect crunch, and the bruschetta like sauce was perfection. Signature cocktails have infinite potential due to their top shelf ingredients. I cannot wait to become a regular at this spot. It's perfect for a date night, girls night , or any night . read more
