Because for me it's important to keep my length, and to find professional who's able to listen and to hear her customer. Nakia was talking to me with emphaty, asking me the first about my goals and treatment routine. She has been treat me like her best friend and were able a very professional at the same time! She changed my appearance, and unlock my inner confidence! My hair after hair cut was look way healthy, and length was looks like a slightly trimmed. I've been coming for foil highlights off and on for a few years but have always been with Nakia. She is great with asking questions and understanding what you are looking for before deciding on doing anything and talking through various options with you. Everything I come in I leave with hair I feel confident in! I know my hair is a bit confusing because I do self dye or let my original color grow out. I don't know all the 'hair terms' so I showed her in pictures what I was wanting, and she said I don't have time for that today and proceeded to walk me back up to the front desk and essentially denied service. Took my daughter for a wash and flat iron/silk press. She has curly texture but does not require a relaxer, just a standard flat iron to get her hair straight. We waited about 30 minutes before she got started. I did not witness the styling but it was raining so when the service was done the stylist kindly put her hair up and covered it for protection. When we got home and took it down I was extremely disappointed. Her hair was neither silky nor pressed. Instead, it was bushy and looked like a flat iron had not even touched it. Furthermore, 3 days later I flat ironed it straighter myself and noticed she had flakes throughout her hair. No stylist should work on a client's hair that is not washed until clean. What a waste of $140 (including tip) for them to start 30 minutes late and provide such a terrible service. Maybe they do better on less textured hair so beware or avoid this salon if you have 4-anything hair. read more

I tried to give Eclips Salon a second chance after they canceled on me the morning of my 1st scheduled appointment on Super Bowl Sunday (Ashburn location). My experience of having a self-care day went down the drain due to Sophia (receptionist) and James (hairstylist aka Semaj) being dishonest and deceitful. I was unable to get a receipt at the salon due to there machine being down (probably a lie), but was told an emailed receipt could be sent. I happened to look at the emailed receipt after the services and noticed that I was charged $81.00 for a haircut that I NEVER received. I called the establishment and Sophia placed me on hold for what seemed like forever, to consult with James. She returned with the most ludicrous response. That I would be refunded $35.00 due to receiving a blow dry. I'm sorry what...I asked to speak to a manager. Sophia then voiced that she could NOW refund me for the entire haircut. But when I insisted on speaking with a manager, she got extremely upset, defensive and placed me on another long hold (probably to consult with James). She got on the phone again, but backtracked about refunding the haircut cost. Sophia was extremely unprofessional, rude and lied about being able to refund me for the full cost of a haircut I NEVER received, without a manager being there. Although, that is what she offered beforehand. PLEASE do not go to this establishment. I was scammed out of my hard earned money. The reviews about being up charged for services not received are TRUE. Do not make my mistake of being a trustful human. GO ELSEWHERE!!! There are far too many salons out here who aren't full of LIARS and are upstanding individuals who take accountability for THERE MISTAKE!!! My daughter and I see Nakia for cuts and my coloring. Eclipse has a fun vibe, always upbeat music playing and Nakia perfectly fits that energy. Even when we first started seeing her because of a recommendation from a friend, she just got us. She listens well and asks for clarification when I am not clear. I guess I should have known after the first experience that entailed a lack of integrity I should have expected no less with the 2nd. All I can say is treat your customers Nakia like you would want to be treated, or I should probably say your "spoke person(s)." The first time we connected I thought I had finally found my hair stylist after moving to this area, BUT ALAS, wrong:( I go to pay, you disappear after I gave you a very generous tip for an amazing job, only to be told at the register I was being charged for full highlights vs partial. My appointment was for partial, we talked while you were doing my hair how you agreed I ONLY NEEDED partial but you decided to charge me for full due to "packing in the foils." I advised the receptionist, she went to the back to what I assumed you would come out to discuss but you disappeared and only advised (through your spokesperson) "next time it will be partial cost." Today I arrive for my appointment at 2:31 when my appt was at 2:30 and was told by a different spokesperson "your late, she left! We don't wait for our customers." I was like "whoa, what?? My appt was at 2:30! Are there not courtesy calls made if I was in fact late to ensure I was ok and not in an accident or maybe forgot?" I couldn't believe it, then the woman (the spokes person) back pedaled and said "well let me go check for sure that she left(all while whispering side bar conversation to the kind receptionist)." I was like don't bother, you said she left now you're saying she's here, I'm done. So I should have read the reviews and gone with Anna, seems that everyone goes to this stylist. And while my hair looked good the first time, it was overshadowed by being played and lied to, no thanks. What I originally wanted was to go from my natural dark hair to an icy blonde color. I've seen plenty of people with my hair color and hair type achieve the look I was going for or at least close, so I know it's possible! Anyway I'll number my interactions so that anyone reading can easily follow along with my experience here. I have a pixie cut and wanted a trim plus color. Part 1: I called and requested a consultation, I told them i needed someone that is experienced with dyeing dark hair, as I wanted to go really light. I had a consultation with Camilla who informed me of some legitimate reasons of why I won't be able to get to icy whitish blonde, but did suggest warmer blonde tones. To which I agreed and said that that was fine too. Things went fine at first and I appreciated her honesty. Things WERE going fine, then transitioned into what seems like her trying to convince me to NOT go blonde! She kept reiterating that my hair will get fried more than SEVERAL TIMES and stressed how much maintenance it will be. I'm not dumb, I did my research beforehand to prepare for the maintenance that would be required, I KNOW that it will take maintenance, styling, purple shampoo, and overall extra care. She tells me all this which I already know then she tries to scare me away with the price. I asked her how much a month and she said $400-$500 initially for a few months. I'm willing to do that if I can achieve what I want but since she is trying to convince me so hard to not do it, it gave off the impression that she either didn't want to do it or couldn't do it. So I figured it would be better to just not go blonde, not with her. I don't want make someone do something they aren't comfortable with. She gave off strange vibes and did not instill in me any confidence that she could dye my hair the color I want. So I tell her let me talk to my husband and think about dyeing my hair. I really want a different hair color so I decide that if in the case that I won't do blonde I'll do a different color, I'll do reddish brown, and she seems more then eager to do an easier hair dye job. We make an appt for later. Oh also, she asked me why I wanted to go icy blonde, I thought to myself why does she need to know that? I just want to, is that a good enough reason?? That was unnecessary. Part 2: It's a few days after the consultation and I've spoken to my husband about my original color that I wanted and he is super supportive of what I want and tells me if I want it to go for it regardless of price. But I tell him that Camilla does not seem at all willing to take my hair from dark brown to light blonde. I tell him I'll do something easier with reddish brown and he tells me that I am settling, which is true. So I decide that I didn't want to settle and decide to call the salon back and rebook for just a haircut and no color. Since I can't get the color I want I might as well just get a haircut to bind time till I can find a person that is willing and knowledgeable enough to help me achieve the color I want. The search is over since I found Nakia! She is SO talented and professional. She does not let you walk with just "okay" hair. She goes above and beyond to ensure that your hair goals are met. I appreciate her honesty and how professional she was throughout our appointments. Not only was she able to maintain the integrity of my hair but she got rid of all the brass the previous salons couldn't seem to get rid of (or took short cuts and temporary routes). I just switched salons. This past Saturday was my first time at Eclips. Kendall did a wonderful job matching the color of my hair. She checked in on me while my hair was processing. I have very fine hair and every stylist I have ever seen blows it out straight, which I really don't like, since it gets very flat. I so appreciate that Kendall asked me how I wanted it blown out and she made sure there was some body in it. I get my hair straightened a couple of times a year and we about the best option for me. She recommended the Brazilian Blowout, which I have scheduled for next to. It was a pleasant experience and I am looking forward to seeing Kendall again. read more

My hairdresser, Ashley, came to this location from another salon. I live here in South riding so its even more convenient for me. She always fits me in and does exactly what I'm looking for. Due to thyroid disease my hair is always falling out and at the moment I want to wear it long so I researched hair extensions. Years ago I had individual extensions they got tangled and ended up doing A lot of damage to my hair. I didn't want the tape-in because I know people who have had them and they do a lot of damage and cause a lot of breakage. I originally found Ashley because I found a hair extension called perfectress and she was one of the few people who is certified to place them.
