So disappointed. Fake advertising! I made an appointment after a friend of mine specifically told me they do tinsel (fairy lights) as I was looking for a place for those for my girl AND a kidscut for my boy which i mentioned atleast twice kids cut when booking on the phone. As ot says on line 1 to 7 years old starts at 23. They said i could scheduled both for same time so i drive out of my way ​to go. I arrive and they say tinsel lady not there. What! I made this appointment 2 hours ago! No call. No text. Then they take my little boy for a cut that takes about 15/20 min. I go to pay and she says 38$. What!! On line it says $23 I say to cashier. Oh...our manager haven't changed that yet with the new price. I mean come on! She says I get 20% off as a 1st time customer (and in my mind last time) ​so 32bucks. I was so mad cause I could have gone to Sharkey a specific kid cut place for that much! It must just be a tough day. I haven't been here in a while and i didn't have a good experience this time. My eye brows are completely off. From length and width. I'm hoping they can fix them. I also got color in my hair but the foil got so hot I almost started to cry. I'm sitting here in my second black gown as the back of my shirt was completely wet. My first gown got all wet in the back as well. One stylist recommended a longer lasting spray. As I'm sitting here in the seat, my scalp left side hurts like hell. read more

Mai did my cut & balayage a few hours ago, & I'm so happy with the way that it turned out! It was clear during our consultation that she understood what I was looking for (low maintenance caramel balayage). I haven't had my hair colored for very long, so she took the time to explain the process & aftercare. I have really thick shoulder-length hair & the entire process took about 3 hours total. When I tell you I had my mind blown I had my mind blown. My other hair appointments were an absolute mess and I ended up worse than I could imagine. This place is clean with a TV to keep you accommodated. Chairs have always been an issue when my stylists were cleaning my hair, but not here. The chairs here were like massaging chairs and felt so comfortable. I had an amazing person doing my hair, Fara. Update for COVID-19: Ladies (and gents) with highlights, COVID hair is a thing. My highlights were so grown out and I desperately needed a cut, so I was so excited to go back to Salon En Color to see Mindy and her crew. Right when you walk in the door, you get your temperature taken. Everyone (stylists and clients) are wearing masks and they are practicing social distancing (even at the wash station). I felt totally safe when I was there, and they even did some remodeling so it's even more modern and streamlined than before. I imagine that wearing a mask all day in a warm environment with all those hair dryers can be hot and tiring, so I'm extra grateful that Salon En Color is back in business to make everyone's hair gorgeous again! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Mai! I was fortunate enough to discover her at this salon when I moved to the area several years ago, and she has been the only person I've trusted with my hair since. I recently decided to do a drastic color change I've wanted for a while and Mai made my purple hair dreams come true. I haven't used any of the other stylists as Salon Encolor, but everyone I've interacted with has been lovely and I've seen great looking hair from all of them. The salon itself is very nice and they remodeled in 2020. The new chairs for the sinks are an especially nice upgrade. The chairs recline and have footrests (really nice for shorter people like me!) and give a nice little massage while you're getting your hair washed. read more

Don't get book with Fara. I scheduled an appointment and the receptionist told me one time and put in another time in the calendar in the system. So according to them I was late by an hour, even though I confirmed with the receptionist what time the appointment was. Luckily Fara was available and still there which I appreciate and she was able to take me, however, the entire appointment she was aggressive and rude. She also nearly burned my scalp with the blow dryer. Because of the aggressive brushing, she kept snagging on my mask so it kept coming off. I saw all these amazing reviews about the other stylist to if I go back, I will book with them. But overall, confirm your appointment time at least twice and pick another stylist. Also no one was wearing a mask, but atleast they were distanced. read more

Johnny took the time to listen to what my teenage son's hair goals are and explained the best way to get there with maintenance cuts every 2 months. I was very impressed that he made my son feel heard and understood. Every time we go to a barber, they end up taking way too much on top. I'd previously been to several other salons in the area looking for a) a talented stylist who understands what I'm looking for in hair color, and b) a place that gives me the same great results (or in this case better) for way less money than some other places I've been. This was my first time at Salon Encolor, and all I can say is it will definitely not be my last! The place is clean, has a friendly staff, and overall a customer feels attended to at all times. I love Ashley! She is an amazing stylist. I have never had a complaint about my cut, style or coloring. She listens to what you have to say and she does that. She will offer suggestions to fit your face but doesn't get upset if you don't agree. She takes her time to make sure you are happy with your style. I love coming to this salon! While sometimes it's difficult to find time in my busy schedule to make an appointment, they are very accommodating and the stylists are very nice. From first entry, you don't get the typical salon overwhelming smell of hair dye, hair spray or products; thank you for that!! It's very clean and welcoming. I made a same day appointment with Vivian, first time there. I've had a series of bad luck with hairdressers and since I'm new to the South Riding/Chantilly area, I decided to try here. My last haircut had left me we a bunch of Christmas tree layers with a chin length bob. I don't understand why hairdressers like to give me tiered layers even though I specifically say not too. I sat down with Vivian and explained why I was upset with the style, but I didn't want to go for a blunt bob cut to make the haircut even. My hair is wavy, so I have to blow dry it straight, but this style just looked like, well, a Christmas tree. Vivian told me I didn't have to lose the length and she would blend the layers together so I didn't have to do the extreme bob chop. Vivian also showed me how to blow dry it a certain way to lessen the time to style. She also flat ironed the hair to check the layering even more. During this time she was also working on another clients color, and she would stop and let me know she was checking her other clients' color. Completely fine with me. She was apologetic even though she didn't need to be about it. It looked fantastic for two days. I decided to wait to write my review until I had enough time with the new cut. First day of washing, it took no time at all to dry and style, something I adored (especially with two little ones running around in the morning). I can dry and style now within 10 minutes, something that took me 20+ before. It's also long enough that I can pull it up on the days I choose not to style. Overall I'm very very happy with it. My only suggestion was to tell the gals that you won't get the shampoo until Vivian looks at it. I was rushed to the shampoo station and insisted on staying put until the stylist and I had a heart to heart about my hair, what I wanted, and what she was going to do. That's the only reason I took a star off. Salons should know first time customers need to have a consultation before the shampoo. I'll be seeing Vivian again in 2 months for the touch ups! read more

I went to Salon enColor because I had purchased a Groupon, and I had a very good experience. Vince did a great job with my cut and color and listened to what I wanted but also gave input on what he thought would look best which I really appreciated. Also had an amazing shampoo/head massage - it was so relaxing it almost put me to sleep in my chair! The only thing was I didn't realize until after I was on my way home that they didn't give me the deep conditioning treatment, which was part of my Groupon. Mainly my fault, should have paid more attention to what was a part of my deal. I would be happy to go back again if my schedule/budget allows for it! read more

Bayleigh Gonzaga - great talent! Let not her Junior Stylist title steer you toward another stylist or have you wonder about her skill and expertise. She deftly took care of my grown out highlights and gray with a color scheme that had co-workers complimenting Bayleigh's creation. I enjoyed her patience, demeanor and her young spirit. Bayleigh had freedom to select the color scheme - she choose 3 colors to create a dimensional look. Her talent shows through the perfect color match to my skin tone. I must say my apprehension about trying a new salon and giving a stylist free reign for the color palette, turned into sheer delight. She is one, I will follow. read more

I have honestly never written a bad review of a salon but what happened here deserves to be known. I went here on a whim and based on the other high reviews I was pretty excited. I went in and the girl at the desk was nice and got me a soda while I waited. Soon the stylist appeared and went through in detail what I wanted done with my hair. I had very high expectations that this color/cut was going to be great. Unfortunately this was far from the case. After sitting a bit with the foils in my hair, I went back to the lovely massaging wash bowls. This is where it all went bad. A toner was applied to my highlighted hair and I waited a while. They stylist came back washed it out and then said it wasn't right and added another toner. Later she comes back to rinse out the second toner and tells me that "next time" it will look better????????? SAY WHAT? NEXT TIME? What about this time? I get to her chair and realize my hair is a lovely mix of yellow and orange. That kind of orange you get when you attempt to bleach your own dark hair. Then we proceed to the hair cut. At this point i'm nearing a break down. She quickly dries my hair, tells me what I owe and runs off. No asking if I was satisfied, no showing me the back of my hair. Not even so much as have a nice day. I think maybe it's just the lighting in the salon and that i will wait until I get home to check it out. Well when I get home my roommate was horrified at the orange shade of my hair and the fact that it was nearly 1" longer on one side than the other. The next day I wrote an email to the salon describing my issue because I had no intention of going back in there and being stressed by having this stylist fix my hair. As of the date of this post I have heard nothing from the salon and it has been about a month now. I went about 2 weeks ago to another salon where they did they best they could considering how extremely damaged my hair was from the toners left on my hair. There was not a lot they could do about the color but they did fix the cut. I'm really disappointed that no one followed up with me about this issue and that my hair is still a mess because of the damage. read more

Well the answer was nothing except let you do my color last time! Her answer was to change the shampoo she recommended to something different and then promptly handed me off to her brother. I thought I would give this place a chance after moijan did a great job on threading my eyebrows! I came in today to get my hair done, I have a fear of getting my hair done. I put a lot of trust in the stylist. I went there today and waited a half hour after my appointment time. I came in at 2 and got out at 5pm. The only thing I liked was the color. The cut and style came out terrible and I had to pay $145 for it. I am extremely upset and angry. The thing that bothered me the most was I kept telling the hair stylist that I would fix it at home and she kept saying that if she couldn't do it, I couldn't do it. I asked her to stop 3 times! So annoyed! I'm even more annoyed that I can't get my hair or my money back and that I will not be able to go there again to get my eyebrows threaded because of this visit!
