I rarely write reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience with Eco Pro Builders, specifically about Shay. First, let me say that I don't have much experience with contractors because I only recently bought my first house. We had a major flood back in November that was bad enough to require a major remodel of floors, interior walls, bathrooms, kitchen...etc. Eco Pro Builders was referred to us by the water reclamation company and we took the leap of faith. I'm so glad we did. From day one Shay was very involved and that trend never ended. It is incredibly stressful navigating through a flood and subsequent remodel, but Shay really helped us out above and beyond many times. For example, our rebuild agreement did not include fixtures, so at each stage of the rebuild, we had to provide the appropriate fixtures to Shay's crew. On multiple occasions I didn't purchase them in time and each time Shay would take care of it by sending his crew to get it for me complete with a bunch of pictures and prices for me to choose. Shay was always fair with prices and understanding with the terribly slow payments from our mortgage company. The final result of the build was really nice, especially the kitchen. What really impressed me though, was Shay's commitment to backing up his work. The floors were unfortunately not leveled enough causing noticeable peaks and valleys in the floors at some spots. Eco-Pro Builders did a restoration on our water damaged downstairs masterbedroom. The owner Shay is very good about communicating and was very helpful designing a walk-in closet and adding recessed lighting. The job progressed smoothly on time, on budget and the work was good. There were some challenges dealing with the insurance company, but in the end we are very happy with our new and upgraded masterbedroom. Both the water remediation company and Eco-Pro said " Don't talk to the insurance company". You may say something to the insurance company that jeopardizes them paying for all the work. In hindsight it is a difficult balancing act not jepordizing the claim payout and knowing what is going to happen during the claims process. Communication was great, however, we did not move forward hiring Shay and his team due to Shay's pressure in decision making. After Shay provided an overall number for us, he told us we had to make a decision within 1 Hour without providing a written up estimate/quote. Shay told us that due to the fact that they work on their estimate with insurance and our insurance denied our claim it cost Shay more money to create a new estimate for us and could not make another one. He said he could not spend more time and money creating a revised estimate for us without getting a confirmation we were going to use his services. For me, just finding out that our insurance was not going to cover our claim, it is important to me that we don't make a QUICK FINANCIAL decision without getting clear information that we can review. I think that when you tell potential clients you aren't going to take the time to ensure they know the right information and that they only have a couple hours to make a large financial decision you are telling people you don't care and you are just trying to make a quick buck. First let me say I have been living a nightmare for the past two weeks in the townhouse I've been renting the past four years. I discovered mold on the wall and ceiling and a huge water stain in my entry closet. I also noticed the adjoining bathroom ceiling was cracked. I also had wet marks on the ceiling in my basement, I assumed everything was coming from my shower drain. I have been working with my landlord and had the areas remediated. I've had people in my place non stop with estimates etc for the homeowner. Shay was recommended to us from one of the people who took away the mold. He was very nice and seemed honest when he came out to assess the problem in the basement. The concrete wall has bubbles all over the lower part, and he told me this was another type of mold called mushroom mold and it wasn't safe to be down there breathing it at all. It would be several thousands to fix the problem. I was freaked the F out and immediately called my landlord! The original guy who took care of the mold came yesterday and said it's calcium deposits due to the planter attached to the building and it is indeed not mold! It won't hurt me or my pets. It does need to be scraped off but it's no health hazard like Shay had told me. Many people are out to take advantage and sadly enough he was not honest. I'm thankful that I got the other opinion and it can be addressed without further stressing me out. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER - this company, as represented by Shay, deserves a negative rating. From Day One Shay came into our home and started bullying us with pressure tactics and yelling at us - outright yelling at us in our own home. Such rude behavior is intolerable. We understand that for him time is money and the faster he can complete our job, he can move onto another. However, this is our home with our family and where we work - Shay showed no respect for our household. Shay came to our door because the water restoration company told him there was work to be done (we did not reach out to him). It was a stressful time with our house in the state it was because of the water damage and we did not do our due diligence in checking the company out before signing anything. Terms of the contract were not explained to us - that we were agreeing to use them for the reconstruction work - not just to complete an estimate of work to be done for submission to the insurance company. Eco Pro did work with the insurance company to get the claim proceeds to a more realistic number but when it came time to start reconstruction, things went downhill fast. Shay never provided a detailed scope of work with firm pricing although requested on multiple occasions. Pricing for additional work was given over the phone and changed from day to day ("oh, I forgot this", "that number I gave you did not include that") so we never knew what to expect. We were "difficult to work with" because we did not drop what we were doing to answer his calls because "he is our contractor". He does not need to leave messages for us - we should just see that he has called and immediately call him back - emphasis on immediately. Shay terminated the contract and is charging us 20% of our insurance proceeds for partial work on drywalling that we will need to bring another contractor in to complete. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY. RUN AWAY - STAY AWAY - DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITH THEM UNLESS YOU FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GETTING YOURSELF INTO. read more
